The Dorm Room: First-time intern, Jeongin Lee, suggested the hack-a-thon idea during his IT orientation session and, with the help of a few others, made it a reality in just two short months. The theme of this inaugural Intern hack-a-thon was “The Dorm Room” referencing where Michael Dell started the company.
Dell Internovation app created: www.dellinternovation.com (developed by interns) 2nd Annual end-of-summer Internovation event where 70 interns showcased their projects, was coordinated by intern volunteers and IT Development Program participants.
Coordinated event with team of intern volunteers to plan logistics, supplies, and coordination with Site Services
44 Interns in Dell IT participated
Opportunity to showcase their summer projects – most worked individually, some in teams
Over 250 participants, including OCIO Executive team (video coming soon)

Our first ever IT Dev summit was held in India a few weeks back. We heard from our customers (Muni, Rajesh), held an innovative idea competition, training, leadership panels, networking, fun – exciting. Lots of learning (Communication, cultural awareness, technical trainings (Pluralsight), and tracks for our early career program (ITDP), Mid level (ITRP), and leadership – Managers for our DPs and select CIO council leaders attended our 2 day leadership track as well.
