The Importance Of Friendship
Friendship is the best thing that can happen in life to every one of us. It is wonderful to have a friend with whom you can spend lovely time, go
shopping, drink coffee, cry, laugh, share happiness and sorrow. A friend gives a sense of happiness to the joy of belonging, often security. It makes us
feel less lonely and more valued. Friendship helps meet the basic need of being human. In my opinion, friendship is based on mutual kindness,
sincerity, and trust. It involves the ability to count on someone in any situation. My first friends would be my parents. I think they are the most
important friends of my childhood and future life. They took extreme care of me, they always worry about me, want the best for me, they never want
anything in return. I know that my parents will always love me no matter what mistake will I do in future. This is amazing! I am so glad that my first
friends of my life were my parents. I could not ask for better ones. They gave me everything I have ever needed, they gave me huge support when I
was having problems in my life. I think that I have started making friends right after I was I born. My mom always tells me that I was a charming
child. As a child, I gave a smile to every person I saw in the park, store or at a church. Those people would smile back at me, in that way we gave
each other a little bit of happiness and calmness. A smile is one the best things you can give someone! I think that those people were my first unofficial
friends.

The Importance Of Friendship
Everyone wants a friend that can pat their back when the finish a race or give them a shoulder to cry on when there's a need. Friends are essential to
happiness. Friendship is the goodness in life, the sunshine on a cloudy gets people out of bed.
Friendships are needed through the good times and the bad. In fact, usually more in the bad. In the book, "The Joy Luck Club (TJLC)" by Amy Tan,
we see the need for friendship during a tough time when Rose Hsu Jordan's husband, Ted, asked for a divorce. After telling her friend Lena about Ted's
request Lena replied saying, "You were depressed. You were manipulated into thinking you were nothing next to him. And now you think you're nothing
15ywithout him..." Lena talks to Rose and helps her to see her self–worth. In an article called, "Women's Friendships In, Sickness and In Health
(WFISIH)" by Deborah Tannen, she spoke about the goodness in friendship, especially during rough times, saying, "Of the more than 80 women I
interviewed recently for a new book about women's friendships, many spoke with gratitude of friends who came through in such troubling times.
One told of a friend who flew from a distant city and stayed for a week while she recovered from surgery." We can see how this friend was there
through the misfortunes of her friend. A friendship is a fulltime job that requires both people to be there during hardships and blessings. Friendship
requires service for each other and building each other. I have had many times when

Friendship Is A Virtue Essay
Aristotle argues that "friendship is a virtue." Making good friends can expand your view on life and make you realize that we are all more alike than
we are different. True friendships are based on unconditional compassion and trust within each other. Although, some friendships end up in disaster,
they help you grow as a person and understand other people's point of view. Director, Tom Rath, believes that "we are all aware of the value of
friendship especially during difficult times." It's self–evident that friendship is an essential ingredient in living a fulfilled life. In fact, Jane Collingwood
acknowledged in her article, "The Importance of Friendship," that "friendship is more than five times as important as physical intimacy...show more

Once I started making new friends, I realized that they appreciated me for who I am and helped me embrace my heritage. Clearly, there is a need
for a greater focus on the aspect of true friendship. As the article emphasizes, "our society is ignoring its importance." True friends influence the
paths you take and give you hope that there is light even in the darkest of times. They are crucial in avoiding modern social problems such as
isolation and anxiety. Therefore, we shouldn't underestimate the power our close circle of friends has on our life because as Vernon writes "a close

Mother–Daughter Relationship: Response The relationship between a mother and daughter can make or break the emotional stability of a young girl.
Many mothers who carry toxic traits in their way of parenting, tend to give their daughters a feeling of inner disturbance and a lack of self–esteem.
These behavioral patterns developed by the mother usually tie to early hardships in her life. As Peg Streep says in her article "Eight Toxic Patterns in a

The Importance Of Friendship
Throughout my lifetime, I have experienced a multitude of experiences that resemble what I believe to be true friendship. I've learned that honesty,
listening, and sticking together are all parts of a relationship that can greatly strengthen a friendship. Whether it be with friends or family, we've all
experienced dire times, and have somehow found a way to resolve said issue. If the issue wasn't resolved and was took with a bit too much salt, those
types of relationships will not last. I am actually a very independent person, but even the most anti–social of people can have true friends.
Listening is one big factor when it comes to building a relationship, although in my opinion is the least important. I have a friend that I've been
friends with for 2 years now who is a perfect example of why it is important to listen to one another. In gym class, me and a buddy of mine walk the
track everyday for at least 20 minutes. Whilst doing so, we listen to music together and talk about life and work. Sometimes, he can get slightly
carried away with certain topics, and whenever I try to say something, he will accidentally interrupt what I was saying. I've noticed that I kind of find
him to be annoying at times, and I honestly don't see this friendship lasting for a long time. While yes, we do have a lot of things in common, it gets
annoying being interrupted all the time. This is why listening to each other is a key part of building a relationship.
Sticking together is another big

The Importance of Friendship Post University "A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a
totally insane world." (Wyse, 2007) We all need friends. Friendships are very essential in our daily lives. If we did not have friends we would not be
happy. We would be very lonely. They keep our heads on our shoulders. They help us to be strong in the hard times and have fun and relax through the
tough times. I believe that everyone needs a really close best friend. Best friends can guide you to do the right thing or the wrong thing. I believe that

She hated going to funerals more than a dog hates cats. She agreed to go to the funeral with me. I found another really close friend that day that
helped guide me through so much that year. He helped me through my parent's divorce and my unplanned pregnancy. When you don't feel like you
can face something alone, there is always a best friend that is right there going through it with you, if you let them. A really good friend is one that
helps you realize that even though you're going through some tough times, you still need to live your life. You still need to have fun and relax
along the way, or else you will become so stressed out that you will end up isolated from anyone who cares about you. When a girl at my school lost
her dad, of course she was going to mourn, and mourn she did. Nobody even tried to talk to her for over two years because they felt like there was no
point. I had just moved there and decided to try and befriend her. She talked to me a little bit. Eventually our senior year we talked all the time and I
finally got her to come over to a sleepover I had and we had a lot of fun. I had never seen her smile before that day. She ended up going out with me
and some other girls a lot more. Friends are so important. I do not think that if we did not have friends, we would not be happy or smile. If we develop
friendships we can spend our lives less isolated and more happily. Everyone needs a friend. True friends are essential in

Importance Of Loyalty In Friendship
Loyalty in a Friend Loyalty is an indispensable virtue in friendship. If we consider each other as friends, then we can be able to share and disclosure
all the sadness, happiness, suffers, and secrets with each other. Nevertheless, the important thing here is both of us have to be trust and loyal by
keeping our secret to ourselves and will not tell about the secrets to anyone. Talking is easy but acting is not. To find a loyal friend and have a loyal
friendship are not the easy tasks. However, I feel very happy and lucky because I have found for myself a loyal friend, her name is . Elizabeth Our

The Importance of Friendship
Although relationships with parents determine in large measure our longer–term preferences, attitudes and values, during adolescence it is often
relationships with friends that cause most concern and which pre–occupy the thoughts of young people as they grow up.
Friendships are based on a completely different set of structural relationships to those with parents. They are more symmetrical and involve sharing and
exchange. Friendships are important to young children but there is a change at the beginning of adolescence –– a move to intimacy that includes the
development of a more exclusive focus, a willingness to talk about oneself and to share problems and advice. Friends tell one another just about...show

For instance, as far as young women are concerned, we can trace the development of friendships through an early adolescent period when emotional
commitments are minimal and the focus of friendship is common activities, a period in mid–adolescence when young women become most anxious
about being rejected or excluded from a same–sex friendship. There is strong emphasis on loyalty and support at this stage:
'...People should remember that you need attention too, and not ignore you and sneak away from you. People who sneak away from you cannot really
be your friends in the first place. Sometimes friends gang up on you. So you have to make another friend in another class. That is not pleasant. I should
know...'
Friendships become easier for young women in later adolescence as they develop a clearer sense of self identity. Young women of this age show a
high regard for each other's individuality and a greater ability to tolerate differences. Young men's friendships rarely achieve the depth of intimacy of
young women's. Larger peer groups – the boys' or 'the lads' – often appear more important to them than individual friendships. Young men in middle
adolescence describe their friends to researchers in the YPLL team in terms similar to those used by pre–adolescent girls – failing to see emotional
support, closeness or security as important qualities of a friendship.
Apart from these general trends, the

Why Friends Is Important To Me In My Life
Friends are very important to me in my life. Although you have family who loves you and always is there for you, it's nice to have someone that
you can always lean on. It is nice to have someone who is not biologically related to you, but someone that you can relate your life to them.
Everyone has different reasons for why they need friends. My top three reasons I need friends are to add joy to my life, have someone to talk to,
and have someone to be with. I need friends to add joy to my life because friends can make people happy and everyone deserves to be happy. It's
nice to know that you have someone and they can add joy to your life whenever you need it. Another trait or action I chose is having someone to
talk to, like a listener. I need this in a friend because although you have family to talk too, it seems easier to talk to a friend that understands you
and is the same age as you. Sometimes you don't have a big problem, or it's not a problem at all and you just want to talk about it. If it's not a big deal
and your parents don't need to know about it, you can always talk to a friend. I love talking to friends because they listen, they understand, and they
help. The last reason is because I need someone to be with. When I say that, I mean someone to be by you whenever you need them, someone to party
with, someone to hang out with. I need a friend that can support me and be with me whenever. Whether I need them because it's for something good or
bad, I need to have

Make it last forever, friendship never ends" (Spice Girls). The Spice Girls are not the only ones who see the importance in the relationships one
has with their friends. Most people depend heavily upon their friends, as they provide kindness, support, and joy to one's life. But are friendships
the most important relationships one holds in their life? How do friendships compare to familial bonds or one's significant other? It is imperative
to make relationships in order to be emotionally and psychologically satisfied, but having a close group of friends may not always provide the
same benefits as other types of connections. One cannot choose the family or living situation they are born into, but one does have control over
who they associate with and spend time around. Because of this freedom, people have the ability to create deeper connections with those who
share similar interests, virtues, and lifestyles as themselves. "Typically friendships are based on compatibility. It comes down to our core. How we
treat people, how we look at life, how we respond to stress and how we live our daily lives are what mean the most" (Enyart). In many ways, most
consider friends as a second family. This type of bond is formed by trust and loyalty, not just a shared bloodline. For those without family, such as
orphans, or those who are only–children, the dependence and necessity of friendship becomes even more imperative. As one grows, they ultimately

I think that fate and destiny affected Stanley's family because his Dad's experiments never worked, Stanley was always getting bullied about his weight
and they were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
When hearing about Stanley's great– great grandfather climbing up God's thumb it helped Stanley and Zero survive because if they didn't hear about
the story about his grandfather, they wouldn't know where to go or what to do or how to survive
I think that bonds of friendship are formed when Stanley comes into group D, some of them become half friends with Stanley but not all of them, I
think that most of them became friends because he gave X–Ray the golden tube. They all bonded together because they were all doing the same thing
everyday, digging holes. But the strongest bond of friendship was definitely Stanley and Zero, the main reason they became friends was because
Stanley was teaching Zero how to read, plus Zero trusting Stanley with his secret that he couldn't read or write.

The Importance Of Friendship By A Friendship
To all teachers,
I look forward to your class
When I come to school.
You 're an awesome teacher;
I think you 're very cool.
You 're smart and fair and friendly;
You 're helping all of us.
And if I got to grade you,
From me you 'd get A+!
To all friends,
Friendship is one of life 's greatest treasures. Friends that are loyal are always there to make you laugh when you are down, they are not afraid to
help you avoid mistakes and they look out for your best interest. This kind of friend can be hard to find, but they offer a friendship that will last a
lifetime. Other friends may not be quite as loving. The pain caused by a friendship marred by betrayal is not easy to overcome. In fact, many poems
find their inspiration from the joy brought about by a loving friendship or the pain caused by a failed friendship. (Oorvi, Naina, Diana)
To all parents,
Parents are the unsung heroes of every person that has ever done anything great. Think about the people that you most admire in your life. Do you
attribute any of their greatness to the people that raised them? Often, we do not even think about the fact that there were most likely two people who
were most influential in making a person who they are. Of course I am referring to his or her parents. If a person is great, remember that greatness is
not achieved in a vacuum. There were people who sowed the seeds of greatness.
To PATHWAYS,
Homework, I love you. I think that you're great.
It's wonderful fun when you keep me up late.

The Importance Of Friendship
In this study, I have presented the personal experiences of friendship of a mother in her first year at University. The research though not unique it adds
to the growing body of literature on friendship and identifies some themes that are supported by the literature.
With respect to the main themes that were identified, sharing common interests and experiences was deemed as the most important ingredient for
initiating and maintaining a friendship. Common interests give us the base to initiate a dialogue and share experiences and they also enable
understanding and attractiveness as we recognise ourselves in others. However, as time goes and experiences change what brings people together can
also bring them apart. Life is experienced differently by different people and as people's experiences and interests change through teenage years,
university, motherhood and age (to name a few), so friendships break, reignite or emerge. Similar findings have been reported by other authors
(Nahemow and Lawton, 1975; Bagwell and Schmidt, 2011; Roberts–Griffin, 2011).
Proximity has also been indicated in the analyses as one of the main ingredients of friendship. Most often friendships are initiated when people meet
for a prolonged period of time. Childhood friendships are often created in the playground or school, adult friendships in the university or work and
motherhood friendships in a mother and toddler group or through the kid's school. In our days, proximity does not necessarily mean a

Friendship: The Importance of Trust Essay
Friendship is a necessary aspect of every human's life, as we are not self sufficient in and of ourselves (Other Selves, pg. 30). Despite its necessity, in
some cases we are either forced or morally required to end relationships. When the trust between two parties has been broken, the loyalty of the
friendship is soiled, and it is therefore a true and just action to end the friendship.
First, let's define what it means to be a friend. Friends can be described as: "an intimate associate, reliable, one who is not an enemy or foe, an ally, etc" (
Webster's, pg. 540). Thus, based upon the definition of a friend, we can assert that friends should not betray one another, regardless of the
circumstance. This is true, if and only if, it is in...show more content...
Therefore, it is true that we can have friendships with a varying degree of loyalty and trust. Each friendship takes on its own uniqueness and attributes
that can be labeled as one of the following: friendships of utility, pleasure, and character.
Friendships of utility are those relationships in which we make use of that friend because they provide the means to an effective service, that we
don't possess. In friendships of utility there is generally a minimal amount of loyalty. For example, you know Joe only because he's your mechanic,
and you trust that he will repair your car. You are also loyal to him, in that you're a return customer, but if he is going out of business and wants to
barrow $20,000 to restart Joes' Car Shop, your most likely not going to just hand the money over to him keeping that "firm belief or confidence in
the honesty, integrity, 'and' reliability" of Joe (Webster's, pg. 1436). In many circumstances this individual is our friend solely because of the effective
service they provide, but there are also conditions in which friendships of utility can also be pleasurable. If you enjoy the person more than you enjoy
the service they are performing, it then becomes a friendship of pleasure.
Friendships of pleasure are relationships in which we enjoy the pleasure derived from that companion. It may be that

Importance of Friendship
Close friends often have a major impact on the choices that people make. A close friend can completely change a person's outlook on life, change
the way they live their life and even help them live their life to the fullest. Friends often have more impact on the life of an individual than family
because friends are people who you choose to have in your life, and are not people who are just there. With the busy lives that people lead these
days, people often feel neglected by their loved ones. This can lead people down negative paths when they feel they have no one there for them. In the

For these reasons Mac feels safe on the streets, and the people he gets to know feel safe with him, hence, the great bonds between him and the
homeless are made. The homeless have so much faith in him that they trust him with their lives. For example, when one of the mentally ill
customers at "The Club" thought that the food was poisoned (chapter 5), when Mac sampled it, the homeless man gladly ate it, because they trust
him Mac so much and believe that he would never hurt them. Some ways that Mac builds such great bonds with the homeless people are that he
knows where they hide so he can find them and once he finds them he knows how to gain their trust. The homeless often start off thinking who this
man is, and end up depending on him once they begin to trust him. The way that Mac gains the homeless people's trust is that he asks them various
questions that make them feel like Mac is a good person who is there to help. Some of these questions include: "you two need a place to sleep
tonight?", "you need a meal tomorrow, you come by The Club, okay, buddy" (66). The homeless and Mac become so close because by asking these
questions, and proving to the homeless that he can be trusted, Mac builds great bonds with these people. Causing the homeless to find trust in him and

Trust, loyalty, truthfulness, protection and integrity, all of these things stem fromfriendship. Without it, a friendship can be destroyed. Friends help us
all, friends are there for us. A good friend is there for you, he understands you, and you understand him. It?s a mutual relationship.
Where in life would you be without your best friends? I know that I would be pretty lost, fairly confused, and I would have a very difficult time
communicating with others. Trust would be an issue, how could I trust another human being if I had never done it before? Aside from parents and
loved ones, friends teach us that strangers can turn unto trustworthy individuals. Friendship is very important in life. If I didn?t have my friends that I
had growing up, I would be a very different person today.
Friendship often derives from a common sharing of an interest, usually this sharing is done by two individuals participating in these common activities
together. This bond often enhances the activity, and can create joy for both of the participants. What?s that entirely mean? Well, basically it says that
doing something fun alone is fun, but doing something fun with someone else, who is having fun, is much much better. And that is my point, friends
make life better. Friends make activities in life more enjoyable. Most of all, friends make life?life.

Friendship is the "bond between people who've made a similar commitment and who is possible therefore share a similar destiny" (Lickerman).
Friendship is significant in everyone's life. Humanity needs friendship in order to survive. It's almost impossible for someone to never make a
friendship. There is always someone out there that is similar to you.
Everyone defines friendship differently. Some traits are more important than others to some individuals. The main traits that I personally believe make
a friendship stronger is trust, loyalty, empathy, honest, a good listener, and supportive. Trustworthiness is an extensive trait for me because Iwant to be
able to trust my friends and not question their loyalty. Trust has been identified as the "most vital in the realm of friendships" (Degges–White). I want
to be able to say that I trust my friends with my life and big decisions. Friendship also needs loyalty in order to stay strong. People want to be able to
tell their friends a secret and trust they won't disclose the information to someone else. This is especially important in high school where one small
rumor can make or break people's reputation. Often time rumors aren't true but if it's juicy enough, people don't care. So loyalty is very crucial.
Empathy is necessary as well. Some day's people just need someone to listen to them and show some empathy. Which means a friend who can respond
accordingly to the situation. Whether that means just listening to their problems

With only a few close friends my first year in high school, I had a rough time. I never wanted to be there and I was miserable. I truly hated it. One day
my wish came true and I got the option to move back if I wanted to. I did think long and hard about it, but I decided to move back because I knew it

The Importance Of Friendship

  • 1. The Importance Of Friendship Friendship is the best thing that can happen in life to every one of us. It is wonderful to have a friend with whom you can spend lovely time, go shopping, drink coffee, cry, laugh, share happiness and sorrow. A friend gives a sense of happiness to the joy of belonging, often security. It makes us feel less lonely and more valued. Friendship helps meet the basic need of being human. In my opinion, friendship is based on mutual kindness, sincerity, and trust. It involves the ability to count on someone in any situation. My first friends would be my parents. I think they are the most important friends of my childhood and future life. They took extreme care of me, they always worry about me, want the best for me, they never want anything in return. I know that my parents will always love me no matter what mistake will I do in future. This is amazing! I am so glad that my first friends of my life were my parents. I could not ask for better ones. They gave me everything I have ever needed, they gave me huge support when I was having problems in my life. I think that I have started making friends right after I was I born. My mom always tells me that I was a charming child. As a child, I gave a smile to every person I saw in the park, store or at a church. Those people would smile back at me, in that way we gave each other a little bit of happiness and calmness. A smile is one the best things you can give someone! I think that those people were my first unofficial friends. As Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Importance Of Friendship Everyone wants a friend that can pat their back when the finish a race or give them a shoulder to cry on when there's a need. Friends are essential to happiness. Friendship is the goodness in life, the sunshine on a cloudy gets people out of bed. Friendships are needed through the good times and the bad. In fact, usually more in the bad. In the book, "The Joy Luck Club (TJLC)" by Amy Tan, we see the need for friendship during a tough time when Rose Hsu Jordan's husband, Ted, asked for a divorce. After telling her friend Lena about Ted's request Lena replied saying, "You were depressed. You were manipulated into thinking you were nothing next to him. And now you think you're nothing 15ywithout him..." Lena talks to Rose and helps her to see her self–worth. In an article called, "Women's Friendships In, Sickness and In Health (WFISIH)" by Deborah Tannen, she spoke about the goodness in friendship, especially during rough times, saying, "Of the more than 80 women I interviewed recently for a new book about women's friendships, many spoke with gratitude of friends who came through in such troubling times. One told of a friend who flew from a distant city and stayed for a week while she recovered from surgery." We can see how this friend was there through the misfortunes of her friend. A friendship is a fulltime job that requires both people to be there during hardships and blessings. Friendship requires service for each other and building each other. • 3. Friendship Is A Virtue Essay Aristotle argues that "friendship is a virtue." Making good friends can expand your view on life and make you realize that we are all more alike than we are different. True friendships are based on unconditional compassion and trust within each other. Although, some friendships end up in disaster, they help you grow as a person and understand other people's point of view. Director, Tom Rath, believes that "we are all aware of the value of friendship especially during difficult times." It's self–evident that friendship is an essential ingredient in living a fulfilled life. In fact, Jane Collingwood acknowledged in her article, "The Importance of Friendship," that "friendship is more than five times as important as physical intimacy...show more content... Once I started making new friends, I realized that they appreciated me for who I am and helped me embrace my heritage. Clearly, there is a need for a greater focus on the aspect of true friendship. As the article emphasizes, "our society is ignoring its importance." True friends influence the paths you take and give you hope that there is light even in the darkest of times. They are crucial in avoiding modern social problems such as isolation and anxiety. Therefore, we shouldn't underestimate the power our close circle of friends has on our life because as Vernon writes "a close friend is a mirror of your own self, someone with whom you realize that, though autonomous, you are not alone." 501 words Eight Toxic Patterns in a Mother–Daughter Relationship: Response The relationship between a mother and daughter can make or break the emotional stability of a young girl. Many mothers who carry toxic traits in their way of parenting, tend to give their daughters a feeling of inner disturbance and a lack of self–esteem. These behavioral patterns developed by the mother usually tie to early hardships in her life. As Peg Streep says in her article "Eight Toxic Patterns in a Mother–daughter Relationship," "Differentiating these patterns in broad terms can help daughters recognize, understand, sort through, and ultimately begin to manage these very problematic and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Importance Of Friendship Throughout my lifetime, I have experienced a multitude of experiences that resemble what I believe to be true friendship. I've learned that honesty, listening, and sticking together are all parts of a relationship that can greatly strengthen a friendship. Whether it be with friends or family, we've all experienced dire times, and have somehow found a way to resolve said issue. If the issue wasn't resolved and was took with a bit too much salt, those types of relationships will not last. I am actually a very independent person, but even the most anti–social of people can have true friends. Listening is one big factor when it comes to building a relationship, although in my opinion is the least important. I have a friend that I've been friends with for 2 years now who is a perfect example of why it is important to listen to one another. In gym class, me and a buddy of mine walk the track everyday for at least 20 minutes. Whilst doing so, we listen to music together and talk about life and work. Sometimes, he can get slightly carried away with certain topics, and whenever I try to say something, he will accidentally interrupt what I was saying. I've noticed that I kind of find him to be annoying at times, and I honestly don't see this friendship lasting for a long time. While yes, we do have a lot of things in common, it gets annoying being interrupted all the time. This is why listening to each other is a key part of building a relationship. Sticking together is another big Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Importance of Friendship The Importance of Friendship Post University "A good friend is a connection to life, a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world." (Wyse, 2007) We all need friends. Friendships are very essential in our daily lives. If we did not have friends we would not be happy. We would be very lonely. They keep our heads on our shoulders. They help us to be strong in the hard times and have fun and relax through the tough times. I believe that everyone needs a really close best friend. Best friends can guide you to do the right thing or the wrong thing. I believe that best friends reflect each other. If you hang out without someone long enough you can influence them....show more content... She hated going to funerals more than a dog hates cats. She agreed to go to the funeral with me. I found another really close friend that day that helped guide me through so much that year. He helped me through my parent's divorce and my unplanned pregnancy. When you don't feel like you can face something alone, there is always a best friend that is right there going through it with you, if you let them. A really good friend is one that helps you realize that even though you're going through some tough times, you still need to live your life. You still need to have fun and relax along the way, or else you will become so stressed out that you will end up isolated from anyone who cares about you. When a girl at my school lost her dad, of course she was going to mourn, and mourn she did. Nobody even tried to talk to her for over two years because they felt like there was no point. I had just moved there and decided to try and befriend her. She talked to me a little bit. Eventually our senior year we talked all the time and I finally got her to come over to a sleepover I had and we had a lot of fun. I had never seen her smile before that day. She ended up going out with me and some other girls a lot more. Friends are so important. I do not think that if we did not have friends, we would not be happy or smile. If we develop friendships we can spend our lives less isolated and more happily. Everyone needs a friend. True friends are essential in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Importance Of Loyalty In Friendship Loyalty in a Friend Loyalty is an indispensable virtue in friendship. If we consider each other as friends, then we can be able to share and disclosure all the sadness, happiness, suffers, and secrets with each other. Nevertheless, the important thing here is both of us have to be trust and loyal by keeping our secret to ourselves and will not tell about the secrets to anyone. Talking is easy but acting is not. To find a loyal friend and have a loyal friendship are not the easy tasks. However, I feel very happy and lucky because I have found for myself a loyal friend, her name is . • 7. The Importance of Friendship Essay The Importance of Friendship Although relationships with parents determine in large measure our longer–term preferences, attitudes and values, during adolescence it is often relationships with friends that cause most concern and which pre–occupy the thoughts of young people as they grow up. Friendships are based on a completely different set of structural relationships to those with parents. They are more symmetrical and involve sharing and exchange. Friendships are important to young children but there is a change at the beginning of adolescence –– a move to intimacy that includes the development of a more exclusive focus, a willingness to talk about oneself and to share problems and advice. For instance, as far as young women are concerned, we can trace the development of friendships through an early adolescent period when emotional commitments are minimal and the focus of friendship is common activities, a period in mid–adolescence when young women become most anxious about being rejected or excluded from a same–sex friendship. There is strong emphasis on loyalty and support at this stage: '...People should remember that you need attention too, and not ignore you and sneak away from you. People who sneak away from you cannot really be your friends in the first place. Sometimes friends gang up on you. So you have to make another friend in another class. That is not pleasant. I should know...' Friendships become easier for young women in later adolescence as they develop a clearer sense of self identity. Young women of this age show a high regard for each other's individuality and a greater ability to tolerate differences. Young men's friendships rarely achieve the depth of intimacy of young women's. Larger peer groups – the boys' or 'the lads' – often appear more important to them than individual friendships. Young men in middle adolescence describe their friends to researchers in the YPLL team in terms similar to those used by pre–adolescent girls – failing to see emotional support, closeness or security as important qualities of a friendship. Human interaction is a necessity to survival, but developed friendships are essential to the successful well being of anyone. Based upon the American Heritage Dictionary, the definition of a friend is, ?A person whom one knows, likes and trusts.? But to all, Friendship has no defined terminology. • 11. Why Friends Is Important To Me In My Life Friends are very important to me in my life. Although you have family who loves you and always is there for you, it's nice to have someone that you can always lean on. It is nice to have someone who is not biologically related to you, but someone that you can relate your life to them. Everyone has different reasons for why they need friends. My top three reasons I need friends are to add joy to my life, have someone to talk to, and have someone to be with. I need friends to add joy to my life because friends can make people happy and everyone deserves to be happy. It's nice to know that you have someone and they can add joy to your life whenever you need it. Another trait or action I chose is having someone to talk to, like a listener. I need this in a friend because although you have family to talk too, it seems easier to talk to a friend that understands you and is the same age as you. Sometimes you don't have a big problem, or it's not a problem at all and you just want to talk about it. If it's not a big deal and your parents don't need to know about it, you can always talk to a friend. I love talking to friends because they listen, they understand, and they help. The last reason is because I need someone to be with. When I say that, I mean someone to be by you whenever you need them, someone to party with, someone to hang out with. I need a friend that can support me and be with me whenever. Whether I need them because it's for something good or bad, I need to have Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. The Importance Of Friendships Make it last forever, friendship never ends" (Spice Girls). The Spice Girls are not the only ones who see the importance in the relationships one has with their friends. Most people depend heavily upon their friends, as they provide kindness, support, and joy to one's life. But are friendships the most important relationships one holds in their life? How do friendships compare to familial bonds or one's significant other? It is imperative to make relationships in order to be emotionally and psychologically satisfied, but having a close group of friends may not always provide the same benefits as other types of connections. One cannot choose the family or living situation they are born into, but one does have control over who they associate with and spend time around. Because of this freedom, people have the ability to create deeper connections with those who share similar interests, virtues, and lifestyles as themselves. "Typically friendships are based on compatibility. It comes down to our core. How we treat people, how we look at life, how we respond to stress and how we live our daily lives are what mean the most" (Enyart). In many ways, most consider friends as a second family. This type of bond is formed by trust and loyalty, not just a shared bloodline. For those without family, such as orphans, or those who are only–children, the dependence and necessity of friendship becomes even more imperative. As one grows, they ultimately become independent from their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. The Importance Of Friendships Stanley Yelnats was accused of stealing a pair of shoes and got sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile delinquent centre. At Camp Green Lake you dig holes to "build character." Stanley's no–good–dirty–rotten–pig–stealing–great–great–grandfather somehow put a curse on his family, which made them always be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I think that fate and destiny affected Stanley's family because his Dad's experiments never worked, Stanley was always getting bullied about his weight and they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. When hearing about Stanley's great– great grandfather climbing up God's thumb it helped Stanley and Zero survive because if they didn't hear about the story about his grandfather, they wouldn't know where to go or what to do or how to survive I think that bonds of friendship are formed when Stanley comes into group D, some of them become half friends with Stanley but not all of them, I think that most of them became friends because he gave X–Ray the golden tube. They all bonded together because they were all doing the same thing everyday, digging holes. But the strongest bond of friendship was definitely Stanley and Zero, the main reason they became friends was because Stanley was teaching Zero how to read, plus Zero trusting Stanley with his secret that he couldn't read or write. Stanley and Zero proved their friendship towards each other ,because they both stood up for each other when being vulnerable, like when Stanley was being Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. The Importance Of Friendship By A Friendship To all teachers, I look forward to your class When I come to school. You 're an awesome teacher; I think you 're very cool. You 're smart and fair and friendly; You 're helping all of us. And if I got to grade you, From me you 'd get A+! To all friends, Friendship is one of life 's greatest treasures. Friends that are loyal are always there to make you laugh when you are down, they are not afraid to help you avoid mistakes and they look out for your best interest. This kind of friend can be hard to find, but they offer a friendship that will last a lifetime. Other friends may not be quite as loving. The pain caused by a friendship marred by betrayal is not easy to overcome. In fact, many poems find their inspiration from the joy brought about by a loving friendship or the pain caused by a failed friendship. (Oorvi, Naina, Diana) To all parents, Parents are the unsung heroes of every person that has ever done anything great. Think about the people that you most admire in your life. Do you attribute any of their greatness to the people that raised them? Often, we do not even think about the fact that there were most likely two people who were most influential in making a person who they are. Of course I am referring to his or her parents. If a person is great, remember that greatness is not achieved in a vacuum. There were people who sowed the seeds of greatness.

  • 17. The Importance Of Friendship In this study, I have presented the personal experiences of friendship of a mother in her first year at University. The research though not unique it adds to the growing body of literature on friendship and identifies some themes that are supported by the literature. With respect to the main themes that were identified, sharing common interests and experiences was deemed as the most important ingredient for initiating and maintaining a friendship. Common interests give us the base to initiate a dialogue and share experiences and they also enable understanding and attractiveness as we recognise ourselves in others. However, as time goes and experiences change what brings people together can also bring them apart. Life is experienced differently by different people and as people's experiences and interests change through teenage years, university, motherhood and age (to name a few), so friendships break, reignite or emerge. Similar findings have been reported by other authors (Nahemow and Lawton, 1975; Bagwell and Schmidt, 2011; Roberts–Griffin, 2011). Proximity has also been indicated in the analyses as one of the main ingredients of friendship. Most often friendships are initiated when people meet for a prolonged period of time. Childhood friendships are often created in the playground or school, adult friendships in the university or work and motherhood friendships in a mother and toddler group or through the kid's school. In our days, proximity does not necessarily mean a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Friendship: The Importance of Trust Essay Friendship is a necessary aspect of every human's life, as we are not self sufficient in and of ourselves (Other Selves, pg. 30). Despite its necessity, in some cases we are either forced or morally required to end relationships. When the trust between two parties has been broken, the loyalty of the friendship is soiled, and it is therefore a true and just action to end the friendship. First, let's define what it means to be a friend. Friends can be described as: "an intimate associate, reliable, one who is not an enemy or foe, an ally, etc" ( Webster's, pg. 540). Thus, based upon the definition of a friend, we can assert that friends should not betray one another, regardless of the circumstance. This is true, if and only if, it is in...show more content... Therefore, it is true that we can have friendships with a varying degree of loyalty and trust. Each friendship takes on its own uniqueness and attributes that can be labeled as one of the following: friendships of utility, pleasure, and character. Friendships of utility are those relationships in which we make use of that friend because they provide the means to an effective service, that we don't possess. In friendships of utility there is generally a minimal amount of loyalty. For example, you know Joe only because he's your mechanic, and you trust that he will repair your car. You are also loyal to him, in that you're a return customer, but if he is going out of business and wants to barrow $20,000 to restart Joes' Car Shop, your most likely not going to just hand the money over to him keeping that "firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, 'and' reliability" of Joe (Webster's, pg. 1436). In many circumstances this individual is our friend solely because of the effective service they provide, but there are also conditions in which friendships of utility can also be pleasurable. If you enjoy the person more than you enjoy the service they are performing, it then becomes a friendship of pleasure. Friendships of pleasure are relationships in which we enjoy the pleasure derived from that companion. It may be that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Importance of Friendship Close friends often have a major impact on the choices that people make. A close friend can completely change a person's outlook on life, change the way they live their life and even help them live their life to the fullest. Friends often have more impact on the life of an individual than family because friends are people who you choose to have in your life, and are not people who are just there. With the busy lives that people lead these days, people often feel neglected by their loved ones. This can lead people down negative paths when they feel they have no one there for them. In the novel, Shattered, by Eric Walters, it is proven that no matter how badly a relationship may begin, it can blossom into a great bond between two...show more content... For these reasons Mac feels safe on the streets, and the people he gets to know feel safe with him, hence, the great bonds between him and the homeless are made. The homeless have so much faith in him that they trust him with their lives. For example, when one of the mentally ill customers at "The Club" thought that the food was poisoned (chapter 5), when Mac sampled it, the homeless man gladly ate it, because they trust him Mac so much and believe that he would never hurt them. Some ways that Mac builds such great bonds with the homeless people are that he knows where they hide so he can find them and once he finds them he knows how to gain their trust. The homeless often start off thinking who this man is, and end up depending on him once they begin to trust him. The way that Mac gains the homeless people's trust is that he asks them various questions that make them feel like Mac is a good person who is there to help. Some of these questions include: "you two need a place to sleep tonight?", "you need a meal tomorrow, you come by The Club, okay, buddy" (66). The homeless and Mac become so close because by asking these questions, and proving to the homeless that he can be trusted, Mac builds great bonds with these people. Causing the homeless to find trust in him and overtime look to him as a brother. As most friends, Mac and the homeless often start out as acquaintances Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. The Importance of Friendship Essay Do you remember your very first friend? Do you remember his or her name? Do you remember how you became friends? Perhaps it was a neighborhood friend, or the kid sitting next to you in school. Maybe it was your cousin, or your cousin's neighbor. Maybe it was someone you met at church, or scouts, or camp, or daycare. Perhaps it was babysitter, a nanny, or a teacher. Or maybe it was your brother, your sister, your half brother or your half sister. Regardless of how you met your very first friend, you'll never forget him or her. Without it, a friendship can be destroyed. Friends help us all, friends are there for us. A good friend is there for you, he understands you, and you understand him. It?s a mutual relationship. Where in life would you be without your best friends? I know that I would be pretty lost, fairly confused, and I would have a very difficult time communicating with others. Trust would be an issue, how could I trust another human being if I had never done it before? Aside from parents and loved ones, friends teach us that strangers can turn unto trustworthy individuals. Friendship is very important in life. If I didn?t have my friends that I had growing up, I would be a very different person today. Friendship often derives from a common sharing of an interest, usually this sharing is done by two individuals participating in these common activities together. This bond often enhances the activity, and can create joy for both of the participants. What?s that entirely mean? Well, basically it says that doing something fun alone is fun, but doing something fun with someone else, who is having fun, is much much better. And that is my point, friends make life better. Friends make activities in life more enjoyable. Most of all, friends make life?life. Protection, do you ever wonder why animals travel in herds? Or why Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 21. Friendship is the "bond between people who've made a similar commitment and who is possible therefore share a similar destiny" (Lickerman). Friendship is significant in everyone's life. Humanity needs friendship in order to survive. It's almost impossible for someone to never make a friendship. There is always someone out there that is similar to you. Everyone defines friendship differently. Some traits are more important than others to some individuals. The main traits that I personally believe make a friendship stronger is trust, loyalty, empathy, honest, a good listener, and supportive. Trustworthiness is an extensive trait for me because Iwant to be able to trust my friends and not question their loyalty. Trust has been identified as the "most vital in the realm of friendships" (Degges–White). I want to be able to say that I trust my friends with my life and big decisions. Friendship also needs loyalty in order to stay strong. People want to be able to tell their friends a secret and trust they won't disclose the information to someone else. This is especially important in high school where one small rumor can make or break people's reputation. Often time rumors aren't true but if it's juicy enough, people don't care. So loyalty is very crucial. Empathy is necessary as well. Some day's people just need someone to listen to them and show some empathy. Which means a friend who can respond accordingly to the situation. Whether that means just listening to their problems Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 22. The Importance Of Friendship Many people say that you meet your life long friends in college. While that is very possible, I believe I have already found my friends for life. This group of girls comes from my high school. I've known them throughout my childhood, from elementary school to the awkward stages of middle school, and finally, till the day we graduated high school. Friendship is extremely valuable. Not only to me, but it is important for humans. It has been said that human interaction is needed for survival. Without it, it is as if you are not even living. You could say there is no true definition of friendship, because when it comes down to it, everybody has one of their own. To me, friendship refers to the people you trust, care about, can laugh and cry...show more content... Suddenly, I didn't mind going to school, I was happy again; I was able to laugh and share stories with these new friends. Looking back, if it wasn't for friendship, I would not have been able to make it through that rough time in my life. My childhood friends never left my side, but I also had so many new friends to make new memories with. But, towards the end of that year things went south, when a friend and I had a fight. Things were turned around on me and I ended up losing a lot of friends. I was sad again and wanted to move back very badly. I never lost my hometown girls though. They stood by my side through all of it, and it was then that I knew they were my true friends and these other friends were "temporary." With only a few close friends my first year in high school, I had a rough time. I never wanted to be there and I was miserable. I truly hated it. One day my wish came true and I got the option to move back if I wanted to. I did think long and hard about it, but I decided to move back because I knew it was what was best for me. Everybody was beyond excited when they found out I was coming back, and it was then that I knew that was where I belonged. My second year of high school was one of the best years of my life. The first day of school, all of my old friends came running up to me, giving me big hugs and saying how happy they were that I was back. That is the type of atmosphere one needs to be happy and to want to go to school. Everyone took me right Get more content on HelpWriting.net
