Community College vs. University Essay
Attention: Future college students, After twelve years of school, where will you go next? Many of you have developed the ambition to prolong your
education and attend college. Today, there are many more options than there were in the past. One does not have to graduate high school and go
straight to a four year university. It is sometimes better for a student to go to a community college and focus on transfer courses or simply get an
Associate's Degree. On the other hand, there are young adults that prefer to leap straight into a university and focus on the specific program for their
Bachelor's Degree. Although they are both a lot alike, there are many differentials of the two. Universities are known for having large campuses;...show

Everyone knows that athletics are a big factor of any college. In some cases, the larger the university, the more athletics it may have to offer. Of
course spending weekends and some weekdays watching your favorite sports event will cause a lot of fun, but what about damaging effects to your
academics. Many college students have seen a tremendous drop in their GPA's due to being caught up in a football game rather than a textbook. Some
community colleges do have a small athletic program, but has shown to not have as many negative effects on a student's academics. College is a lot
different from high school, you are there because you want to be and it makes it more exciting because you want to learn. The teachers respect you
and are open to any questions you may have. Class sizes can be very important once you get to college. It is a drastic change going from a room
with a few rows of desks accompanied with many classmates that have been in the rooms with you over the past few years. You were able to raise
your hand and have a question answer usually within a few minutes. Large classes do not present you with that simple luxury. Most of the time, you
sign the role and the professor does not know which name belongs to which face, making it harder for means of communication. Community colleges
are focused on having strong teacher/student relations. They allow students to ask questions and are there to visualize the problem a

There are pros and cons to going to college and also there are pros and cons for not going to college. But the decision that will give someone the
better opportunity to have a more successful life is to go to college. The money that one will earn after getting a college degree will be more than
the money a person will make without getting a college degree. As our society has continued to evolve, education has become the optimal route to
professional success: pursuing a degree is the best way to receive training, to gain expertise in a given field, and even to guide you and help you make

Although a person in college can have a job, that person cannot work as much as someone who is not in college. At first this is a positive for not
going to college because that would mean more money for the people not going to college. That is true but over years; the people with a college
degree will end up with more money because of the higher annual salaries. The benefits of a college degree are not just for money, but also a
college degree will also give a person more career options. A person with a college degree will have more career options than someone without a
college degree because employers will see that one has a college degree and think that person knows what to do and can do the job well.
Employers want the best person for the job and a college degree looks really good on a person's resume (Ten Great...). In a survey that was casted
to see what employers look for, those employers said that they wanted people that have dependability, reliability, a good attitude, the ability to read
comfortably, the ability to think more consciously, computer skills, and the ability to communicate clearly whether it be spoken or in writing
(Knowledge and...). Along the path of getting a college degree, one will also learn these skills and attributes. Not only does a college degree increase
one's chances of getting a job, but it can also get a person employer–paid health insurance and pension plans. That is great considering that the

Community College vs. Universities
Choosing a college means going to a new, unfamiliar world of immense possibilities. One of the hardest decisions a high school graduate face is the
choice between attending a Community College or a University. Although Universities and CommunityCollege serve the same purpose, each has its
differences and similarities in their learning such as the admission requirements, expenses, size, and student life. Community College are the most
common type of two–year College that prepares you to continue your education, are often an affordable and convenient option. Universities you can

Students attending private universities pay an average tuition of $35,374. Those who attend a community college for the first two year of their
education save $8,000 or more. Since most of the same financial aid including Pell grants and Stafford loans is available for any institution choice,
students in the lowest income brackets can expect a larger financial aid refund from a community college than a university. Those who need a
university education to meet their career goals may be able to attend a community college part time while they work and save up. Then, when they
transfer to a university for their final two years, they may have saved enough that with financial aid, they can pursue their four–year degree.
Community Colleges tend to have fewer students per class, which means more attention from teacher to student. This is good for students who like
access to their instructors so they can ask questions and avoid getting lost in the course material. Universities are bigger than community colleges and it
takes a little longer to find your way around campus. Most teenagers graduate from high school eager to leave their parents house and do grown up
things. The benefit of attending a University is living on campus instead of your parent's home. Not all universities have dorms, but the majority of
them do. Which you have to pay for parking, fitness center, laundry and other fees included. Both university and community colleges sponsor

others, and don't get held back any grades. If you are a person who wants to keep your life on track, it takes hard work, determination, and patience.

Studying skills will help you be more successful as well, there is also to much studying. To much studying can cause stress, and dense learning habits,
also pushing your self to hard may ruin learning skills and cause your self to feel bad, or not as intelligent. Study skills for tests, quizzes, and
exams is very important. Evenly spreading out study time will increase memory of the subjects you learn. Taking frequent breaks will make
studying less stressful. Using flash cards, web sites, computers, or just a pencil and paper are all great ways to study. Having an answer sheet to
refer to, and look over when your done will also help study and learning skills because it can help you see what you did wrong and need to fix. Having
a study group or club before big tests, like exams or diplomas, will help you have more fun with your friends when studying.
Also study at home with adults to help you. Having friends to study with will increase your enjoyment of learning, and learning to learn. Doing
homework right after you get home from school is good because you might still remember what to do and what you need to study. Doing
homework in the morning can make it less likely for you to sleep or enjoy your day. If you enjoy writing or reading a job may be based on writing in a
future date, but if you dislike reading you might want a job such as a doctor.

My Life As A College Student Essay
Over the course of the last semester, I grew tremendously, not just as a writer but as a student. I learned skills and tactics that will last me
throughout my life and will benefit me once I begin the next four years of my life as a college student. This early gateway into college writing
provided me with exposure to the expectations that I will face in the college classroom. This will come in handy in the English classroom, as well as
in every subject I will face over the course of the next four years, and beyond. Writing is a key skill that communicates ideas and information, and is
essential to being successful. Whether I go into the music industry or find myself in a completely unforeseen career, it is certain that I will use my
writing skills at some point. This class sharpened those skills and prepared me for the future in ways no high school english class could. This class
has challenged me to think more in depth than I ever have before. It forced me to use my writing as a means of expressing knowledge, ideas, and
facts in a clear organized manner. In order to accomplish the goals of each paper assigned, I found new ways to present the same information. For
example, in every essay I included the theme that governments should be more involved in the fight against cyber warfare. However, I presented this
idea in each paper in different forms. In the summary, I simply stated what an author of a certain article had to say about this idea. In the critique, I

President Barack Obama said "In this kind of economy, countries who out–educate us today will out–compete us tomorrow. Already, China is

Why I Chose When Attending A Small College
Most colleges/universities in the world are overpriced and it takes not only a lot of money, but also perfect grades and exceptional extracurriculars
to be able to get into them and pursue the career you want. Smaller colleges are expensive as well, but not as overpriced like all the big colleges. I
would prefer to attend a small college in a small town. For example, I chose to attend West Hills Coalinga because I thought it would be a great
experience since it is a small college; I come from a small town, therefore I would fit in better there than in a big school. West Hills Coalinga has
the same opportunities all colleges have, but not only that, you can save yourself many personal and financial expenses as well. Going to a college
in a big city is going to be overpriced because in a big city everything is really expensive including housing, but if I were to...show more content...

feel as though I did not belong like I would in the big city. I would feel more comfortable attending a small college coming directly from a small high
school. A lot of people say that you have better opportunities going to a big college than going to a small college, but I believe attending a small town
college is better at least for me. There would be less distractions, less, expenses, less problems, and I would not feel as far from home. You can still

How will college change my life
"How will college change my life?" Colleges are institutions of higher learning; I would go to college simply to make more money. College could
be described as a rite of passage, where future working men and women step out from sheltered childhood lives into an independent place of learning.
It is different from the original schooling most children receive as there is a more in–depth workload that requires more studying. College will change
my life as I am open to many fields of study, expanding my mind and giving a glimpse of what to expect when I step out into the working world.

As college students, we as students must have a fierce ambition to accomplish a balance between a healthy, steady social life and a bright academic
future. Communication is an important tool in life, not just inside college that broadens our horizons and makes us more intelligent generally. The
future working men and women who enter college are adults and will be treated as such. An adult is one who has matured to know what is right and
what is wrong. The importance of a rule is a line between right and wrong that many places including colleges have as a guiding tool. College
students who enter are expected to follow rules as the rules are meant to protect us and set a guideline. Adults also know how to be self–sufficient,
being able to do their work, without anyone's help or stealing someone else's work: plagiarism. College is where we are expected to perform to the best
of our abilities because as students we have a fierce ambition to get ahead by earning a degree. College is a chance to be free and is a bridge between
the real world and school. I'm an adult and expected to behave as such; I make my own choices where I have to decide what is important to me. I
have an opportunity to learn how the world works, to explore the limitless possibilities and a chance to admire how vast knowledge can be. College
will change my life in the way that I can develop life skills outside academics, to be fully

The Real Purpose of a University Education
All my life I knew I would be attending college. There never seemed to be any other option available as far as I knew. I never really stopped to think
about whether or not it was necessary for me, or why it was so important; I was just funneled into the college curriculum in high school. I have attended
the University of Arkansas for three years now, and have heard two main arguments over the purpose of a college education. One is that college is a
place to train for a job, and the other is that college should be an institute of higher learning with no real focus on a future job. Challenged to form an
opinion on this matter, I finally decided that neither side is absolutely right. In...show more content...
I'm not saying that people who enjoy learning and attend college simply to gain as much knowledge as possible are wrong. College is a place
where learning is encouraged and students have the time and resources to absorb as much as possible. There are teachers who are available to
offer guidance to interested students. When else in life will you have someone whose job is to try to make you a more cultured, intelligent human
being? There is a great deal of value in this point of view. There is no reason why a person shouldn't want to learn. I consider myself to be one of
these people. College has nothing to do with my future career. After graduation I plan to go to culinary school, but I want to attend college. Why
waste my time and money here when it has nothing to do with what I will be doing for the rest of my life? I love to learn. I could just as easily be
off training for my future job, but I think that college has some certain benefits that I do not want to miss out on. These two basic ideas about college
conflict in a lot of ways. For example, there has been talk of the large corporate influence on the education process at the University of Arkansas lately.
This has caused some controversy, and once again, put the purpose of a university education into the limelight. Those who think the purpose of the
university is to train for jobs say that the corporate influence is beneficial to the students.

When searching for a college that best fits an individual's particular needs, a student has to take a lot into consideration, size being the most abundant
factor. Before a student elaborates upon whether or not a small or large college is a better fit for them, it is important to first identify how each one
serves the student in comparison to one another. That way, an individual is more likely to begin theircollege search without a pre–determined bias on
which college is better.
The most realistic comparison between a large university and a small university comes to conclude that they both are established to make money off of
the student. Both schools embody a place of higher education and essentially serve the same purpose: to help students graduate through their academic
services with a degree that holds some sort of value in job placement. A student can find a quality education on both sized–campuses along with
involvement in organizations that fit their interests and culture where they are essentially revealed to an even higher participation on campus; most
commonly, this includes extra–curricular activities such as fraternities and sororities. However, as seen at both large and small universities, anyone with
a dorm lifestyle and young independence is typically exposed many scenarios that allow the opportunity for the student to partake in immoral acts; this
includes drug use, alcohol intake, gluttony, and treason. Although there is a lot of wrong and sinful nature

How to Be A Good Student Essay
How to Be A Good Student
To become a success in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life. Becoming a good student takes much work and
self–discipline. There are many ways that a student can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude,
intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
Attitude is primarily a genuine desire to learn and the will to do hard academic work to achieve understanding. It is also shown by how well you
apply yourself even to subjects in which you have little interest and how much you can achieve even when a teacher's style is not what you are used to.

No one else can help you to attain a good attitude, you must decide and make it a goal to have a good attitude in your student life. (CS)
Intellectual skills is (S–V Agr) another important aspect of becoming a good student. This skill includes the ability to read and understand, intelligent
use of resources, mathematical and logical skills, efficient study habits, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. Intellectual skills include
time management, exam strategies, study strategies, and goal setting.
Consciousness, or awareness, is another helpful aspect of becoming a good student. The good student must be aware of their (agr) surroundings and
know what is going on in the world around them. We must strive to relate what is happening around us to what we are learning. This should be
important to us because we should care about what is going on politically, academically, socially, and spiritually. Being aware and paying attention is a
good trait to continually learn and apply.
Achievement is demonstrated by successful application of understanding. This aspect includes using correct and confident knowledge, effective
communication, and continuanceing of education through out your life. Achievement gives you a sense of accomplishment and meaning. To become a
good student, this must be a goal that you wish to accomplish.

Campus Descriptive Essay
West Virginia University has hands down the most gorgeous campus I have ever seen. Every morning I would wake up knowing that I have the
privilege of attending a good school with a breathtakingly beautiful campus. I was gradually awoken by the warm rays of sunlight filtering into my
room like a gentle wake up call. I got up to look out the window and I saw my fellow classmates walking to class and going about their days.
Stretching and yawning I prepare myself for the day. I cannot help but to think that today is going to be a good day. As I stepped outside for the first
time I felt the cool breeze gently blowing between the buildings, giving everyone it touches a breath of fresh air. Strolling through campus, I stopped
for a minute to admire how the sun was shining down on like a spotlight on all the beautiful blue and gold flowers. The landscapers worked hard
planting the flowers of the most royal of blues and the perfect shade of golden yellow. Walking further down the hill I saw the familiar "flying dub

strong breeze carried the scent of freshly cut grass to my nose and embraced me as I continued my journey to class. Passing several students on my
way, nodding my head in acknowledgement, a few familiar faces make eye contact and smile. The weather that day was perfect, not too hot, but

In the near future, I expect to gain many important aspects from my college education. The first and most important thing I hope to gain from this

The Dreaded English Class
The dreaded English 102. Could this be my final English course in my career as a student? I don't know for sure. I still need to decide what my

will go, but I plan to work hard to get the best grade that I can. Hence, I have decided to get this out of the way now, I look to fine–tune my writing
skills, and I expect this course to help me understand my writing style. To start, I chose this class because I knew that eventually I would need to
complete it. What better time to do it, than right now? I had recently completed a math course this past semester, so I did not want to take another
stressful class that I find to not be my strongest subject right after. My brother and some friends have mentioned that this course isn't as bad as it is

you find yourself struggling to pay bills. Seeing that this class isn't as costly as a math course, and isn't as time restraining either. This course will

society is that you must have some sort of college education. Being a college student is seen as more respectable, rather then being a garbage man

that lowers their overall GPA. The major reason of going to college is to get a good job. College prepares us with academic knowledge in order to

Community College Vs. University Essay

  • 1. Community College vs. University Essay Attention: Future college students, After twelve years of school, where will you go next? Many of you have developed the ambition to prolong your education and attend college. Today, there are many more options than there were in the past. One does not have to graduate high school and go straight to a four year university. It is sometimes better for a student to go to a community college and focus on transfer courses or simply get an Associate's Degree. On the other hand, there are young adults that prefer to leap straight into a university and focus on the specific program for their Bachelor's Degree. Although they are both a lot alike, there are many differentials of the two. Universities are known for having large campuses;...show more content... Everyone knows that athletics are a big factor of any college. In some cases, the larger the university, the more athletics it may have to offer. Of course spending weekends and some weekdays watching your favorite sports event will cause a lot of fun, but what about damaging effects to your academics. Many college students have seen a tremendous drop in their GPA's due to being caught up in a football game rather than a textbook. Some community colleges do have a small athletic program, but has shown to not have as many negative effects on a student's academics. College is a lot different from high school, you are there because you want to be and it makes it more exciting because you want to learn. The teachers respect you and are open to any questions you may have. Class sizes can be very important once you get to college. It is a drastic change going from a room with a few rows of desks accompanied with many classmates that have been in the rooms with you over the past few years. You were able to raise your hand and have a question answer usually within a few minutes. Large classes do not present you with that simple luxury. Most of the time, you sign the role and the professor does not know which name belongs to which face, making it harder for means of communication. Community colleges are focused on having strong teacher/student relations. They allow students to ask questions and are there to visualize the problem a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Benefits of a College Degree Essay After high school, a choice that many students have to make is whether to go to college or not. There are many factors that go into one's decision. There are pros and cons to going to college and also there are pros and cons for not going to college. But the decision that will give someone the better opportunity to have a more successful life is to go to college. The money that one will earn after getting a college degree will be more than the money a person will make without getting a college degree. As our society has continued to evolve, education has become the optimal route to professional success: pursuing a degree is the best way to receive training, to gain expertise in a given field, and even to guide you and help you make choices...show more content... Although a person in college can have a job, that person cannot work as much as someone who is not in college. At first this is a positive for not going to college because that would mean more money for the people not going to college. That is true but over years; the people with a college degree will end up with more money because of the higher annual salaries. The benefits of a college degree are not just for money, but also a college degree will also give a person more career options. A person with a college degree will have more career options than someone without a college degree because employers will see that one has a college degree and think that person knows what to do and can do the job well. Employers want the best person for the job and a college degree looks really good on a person's resume (Ten Great...). In a survey that was casted to see what employers look for, those employers said that they wanted people that have dependability, reliability, a good attitude, the ability to read comfortably, the ability to think more consciously, computer skills, and the ability to communicate clearly whether it be spoken or in writing (Knowledge and...). Along the path of getting a college degree, one will also learn these skills and attributes. Not only does a college degree increase one's chances of getting a job, but it can also get a person employer–paid health insurance and pension plans. That is great considering that the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Community College vs University Essay examples Compare and Contrast Essay Community College vs. Universities Choosing a college means going to a new, unfamiliar world of immense possibilities. One of the hardest decisions a high school graduate face is the choice between attending a Community College or a University. Although Universities and CommunityCollege serve the same purpose, each has its differences and similarities in their learning such as the admission requirements, expenses, size, and student life. Community College are the most common type of two–year College that prepares you to continue your education, are often an affordable and convenient option. Universities you can earn Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees which is more expensive. At a University, you can...show more content... Students attending private universities pay an average tuition of $35,374. Those who attend a community college for the first two year of their education save $8,000 or more. Since most of the same financial aid including Pell grants and Stafford loans is available for any institution choice, students in the lowest income brackets can expect a larger financial aid refund from a community college than a university. Those who need a university education to meet their career goals may be able to attend a community college part time while they work and save up. Then, when they transfer to a university for their final two years, they may have saved enough that with financial aid, they can pursue their four–year degree. Community Colleges tend to have fewer students per class, which means more attention from teacher to student. This is good for students who like access to their instructors so they can ask questions and avoid getting lost in the course material. Universities are bigger than community colleges and it takes a little longer to find your way around campus. Most teenagers graduate from high school eager to leave their parents house and do grown up things. The benefit of attending a University is living on campus instead of your parent's home. Not all universities have dorms, but the majority of them do. Which you have to pay for parking, fitness center, laundry and other fees included. Both university and community colleges sponsor Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Successful Student Essay Characteristics of a Successful Student. Are you a student who wants to be successful? All people can be good successful students, if they try hard and use self discipline to push them self harder. Being a successful student doesn't mean you are so smart you get to skip grades, it just means that you get good marks, work well with others, and don't get held back any grades. If you are a person who wants to keep your life on track, it takes hard work, determination, and patience. Being a successful student may involve some of the characteristics such as: organization, time, studying, and believing you can achieve. Organization means using your space wisely. To much studying can cause stress, and dense learning habits, also pushing your self to hard may ruin learning skills and cause your self to feel bad, or not as intelligent. Study skills for tests, quizzes, and exams is very important. Evenly spreading out study time will increase memory of the subjects you learn. Taking frequent breaks will make studying less stressful. Using flash cards, web sites, computers, or just a pencil and paper are all great ways to study. Having an answer sheet to refer to, and look over when your done will also help study and learning skills because it can help you see what you did wrong and need to fix. Having a study group or club before big tests, like exams or diplomas, will help you have more fun with your friends when studying. Also study at home with adults to help you. Having friends to study with will increase your enjoyment of learning, and learning to learn. Doing homework right after you get home from school is good because you might still remember what to do and what you need to study. Doing homework in the morning can make it less likely for you to sleep or enjoy your day. If you enjoy writing or reading a job may be based on writing in a future date, but if you dislike reading you might want a job such as a doctor. Also believing in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Life As A College Student Essay Over the course of the last semester, I grew tremendously, not just as a writer but as a student. I learned skills and tactics that will last me throughout my life and will benefit me once I begin the next four years of my life as a college student. This early gateway into college writing provided me with exposure to the expectations that I will face in the college classroom. This will come in handy in the English classroom, as well as in every subject I will face over the course of the next four years, and beyond. Writing is a key skill that communicates ideas and information, and is essential to being successful. Whether I go into the music industry or find myself in a completely unforeseen career, it is certain that I will use my writing skills at some point. This class sharpened those skills and prepared me for the future in ways no high school english class could. This class has challenged me to think more in depth than I ever have before. It forced me to use my writing as a means of expressing knowledge, ideas, and facts in a clear organized manner. In order to accomplish the goals of each paper assigned, I found new ways to present the same information. For example, in every essay I included the theme that governments should be more involved in the fight against cyber warfare. However, I presented this idea in each paper in different forms. In the summary, I simply stated what an author of a certain article had to say about this idea. In the critique, I discussed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. What is the Purpose of College? Essay example A college education gives a person the opportunity to be successful in life, either financially or morally dependent on the goals that they set for their life. They will choose a college that offer programs for the major of their choice, where they will specialize and receive a degree. The decision to pursue a higher education will give the opportunity to earn a better income over someone who does not have a degree. College is more of life preparation course that will help make sure a successful career. If a person pursues a career in engineering, physics or mathematics their curriculum would include more liberal art preparation courses, in order for them to earn their degree, so someone pursuing a degree in these types of careers are ...show more content... Today's world economies are so tied together and react to one another that only the brightest and smartest will survive. The better educated a student is in the specific career that they have chosen to earn a degree in will give them the educated edge so that they can out compete with foreign markets. President Barack Obama said "In this kind of economy, countries who out–educate us today will out–compete us tomorrow. Already, China is graduating eight times as many engineers as we are. By 12th grade, our children score lower on math and science tests than most other kids in the world," ("Full"). American colleges need to do a better job at improving math and science scores so that the graduating student can better compete in the world market Asian countries are continuously outperforming American students. Gary W. Phillips, chief scientist at the American Institutes of Research said "In this case, the bad news trumps the good because our Asian economic competitors are winning the race to prepare students in math and science," (Dillon). The better colleges prepare students to edge out competitors in the world market needs to be their priority. Secondly the purpose of a college education is to meet the student's liberal art's needs so that they can compete and give them a well–rounded education that will enable them to earn Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Why I Chose When Attending A Small College Most colleges/universities in the world are overpriced and it takes not only a lot of money, but also perfect grades and exceptional extracurriculars to be able to get into them and pursue the career you want. Smaller colleges are expensive as well, but not as overpriced like all the big colleges. I would prefer to attend a small college in a small town. For example, I chose to attend West Hills Coalinga because I thought it would be a great experience since it is a small college; I come from a small town, therefore I would fit in better there than in a big school. West Hills Coalinga has the same opportunities all colleges have, but not only that, you can save yourself many personal and financial expenses as well. Going to a college in a big city is going to be overpriced because in a big city everything is really expensive including housing, but if I were to...show more content... It is proven that there is less probability of crimes in a small town that in a big city. I would want to live somewhere safe because with the probability of attending evening classes, I would feel better knowing the town I live in is safe. I could get to know everyone. I would not feel like an outsider or feel as though I did not belong like I would in the big city. I would feel more comfortable attending a small college coming directly from a small high school. A lot of people say that you have better opportunities going to a big college than going to a small college, but I believe attending a small town college is better at least for me. There would be less distractions, less, expenses, less problems, and I would not feel as far from home. You can still meets new people, make friends faster, and get to know them better. Attending a small college and living in a small town would save me a lot of stress and I would also save a lot of money than if I were to attend a big college and live in a big Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. How will college change my life "How will college change my life?" Colleges are institutions of higher learning; I would go to college simply to make more money. College could be described as a rite of passage, where future working men and women step out from sheltered childhood lives into an independent place of learning. It is different from the original schooling most children receive as there is a more in–depth workload that requires more studying. College will change my life as I am open to many fields of study, expanding my mind and giving a glimpse of what to expect when I step out into the working world. Flexibility with learning and providing me with the option to choose what interests me, being treated as an adult by taking responsibility for one's own actions...show more content... As college students, we as students must have a fierce ambition to accomplish a balance between a healthy, steady social life and a bright academic future. Communication is an important tool in life, not just inside college that broadens our horizons and makes us more intelligent generally. The future working men and women who enter college are adults and will be treated as such. An adult is one who has matured to know what is right and what is wrong. The importance of a rule is a line between right and wrong that many places including colleges have as a guiding tool. College students who enter are expected to follow rules as the rules are meant to protect us and set a guideline. Adults also know how to be self–sufficient, being able to do their work, without anyone's help or stealing someone else's work: plagiarism. College is where we are expected to perform to the best of our abilities because as students we have a fierce ambition to get ahead by earning a degree. College is a chance to be free and is a bridge between the real world and school. I'm an adult and expected to behave as such; I make my own choices where I have to decide what is important to me. I have an opportunity to learn how the world works, to explore the limitless possibilities and a chance to admire how vast knowledge can be. College will change my life in the way that I can develop life skills outside academics, to be fully Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. The Real Purpose of a University Education All my life I knew I would be attending college. There never seemed to be any other option available as far as I knew. I never really stopped to think about whether or not it was necessary for me, or why it was so important; I was just funneled into the college curriculum in high school. I have attended the University of Arkansas for three years now, and have heard two main arguments over the purpose of a college education. One is that college is a place to train for a job, and the other is that college should be an institute of higher learning with no real focus on a future job. Challenged to form an opinion on this matter, I finally decided that neither side is absolutely right. In...show more content... I'm not saying that people who enjoy learning and attend college simply to gain as much knowledge as possible are wrong. College is a place where learning is encouraged and students have the time and resources to absorb as much as possible. There are teachers who are available to offer guidance to interested students. When else in life will you have someone whose job is to try to make you a more cultured, intelligent human being? There is a great deal of value in this point of view. There is no reason why a person shouldn't want to learn. I consider myself to be one of these people. College has nothing to do with my future career. After graduation I plan to go to culinary school, but I want to attend college. Why waste my time and money here when it has nothing to do with what I will be doing for the rest of my life? Every morning I would wake up knowing that I have the privilege of attending a good school with a breathtakingly beautiful campus. I was gradually awoken by the warm rays of sunlight filtering into my room like a gentle wake up call. I got up to look out the window and I saw my fellow classmates walking to class and going about their days. Stretching and yawning I prepare myself for the day. I cannot help but to think that today is going to be a good day. As I stepped outside for the first time I felt the cool breeze gently blowing between the buildings, giving everyone it touches a breath of fresh air. Strolling through campus, I stopped for a minute to admire how the sun was shining down on like a spotlight on all the beautiful blue and gold flowers. The landscapers worked hard planting the flowers of the most royal of blues and the perfect shade of golden yellow. Walking further down the hill I saw the familiar "flying dub v" on every passing persons clothing. Most of my classmates were in a rush to get to class, but I took my time just absorbing my surroundings. A strong breeze carried the scent of freshly cut grass to my nose and embraced me as I continued my journey to class. There is something that I know for sure, that is, needing to take this class to move on. I am not certain how my time in this class will go, but I plan to work hard to get the best grade that I can. Hence, I have decided to get this out of the way now, I look to fine–tune my writing skills, and I expect this course to help me understand my writing style. To start, I chose this class because I knew that eventually I would need to complete it. What better time to do it, than right now? I had recently completed a math course this past semester, so I did not want to take another stressful class that I find to not be my strongest subject right after. My brother and some friends have mentioned that this course isn't as bad as it is said to be. That is what pushed me to sign up and attempt to complete this course. Being a part time student and working full time is a lot to balance on ones plate. I have learned that from experience. I formally was a full time student and worked part time, but the roles tend to reverse once you find yourself struggling to pay bills. Seeing that this class isn't as costly as a math course, and isn't as time restraining either. This course will give me more time at work and more time to study. This sums up the reasons I chose to complete English 102. I hope to gain more writing experience in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
