India lies midway between the
Far East and the Middle East.
The trans-Indian Ocean routes
connecting the industrially
developed countries of Europe in
the west and the underdeveloped
countries of east Asia pass close
by.
First used in 1856, the term
“Near East” was defined
specifically against the Far East
and referred to the region in Asia
that’s west of India.

listed are generally considered part of the Middle East.
The Middle East" is a term traditionally applied by western Europeans to
the countries of SW Asia and NE Africa lying W of Afghanistan, Pakistan,

It also includes Cyprus, the Asian part of Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel,
the West Bank and Gaza, Jordan, Iraq, Iran.
Remaining countries of the Arabian peninsula (Saudi Arabia, Yemen,

Cultural exchange has between India and the Middle East existed since ancient
times.
This engagement has continued into the modern era & bilateral relations with Iraq, Iran,
Syria, and the Gulf states, dating back to when the area was known as the Fertile Crescent.
From Indian women applying kajal similar to arab women applying kohl, to similar recipe for
beverages such as masala tea in india and karak in middle east as well as obsession of Both the
countries with gold, spicy food and other traditional values, they have a lot of cultural similarities.

On August of 2015, Modi visited the United Arab Emirates and its marked
