7. WHAT CONVENTIONS HAVE BEEN USED
• We can see that there are many conventions used the
first is that this is a trap and pop artist which is shown
in the Website, Music Video and album cover.
• This is shown in the artist himself as his character is
what shows us this.
• There are also the conventions of a bit of techno in
the characters with the Weekend being Daft punk and
also the colors used also help to show this also shown
in how the video is shown on a different planet.

• The overall goal is to sell both the
music and the artist.

in big letters but also the artist as a big
image in the center of the cover. This
is the same in the video as The
Weekend is the center of what is

• One of the main things that is different about
this music campaign is how it has been done
in a way that makes it seem older with a
slightly faded video and a retro cover which
seems similar to a star wars cover with several
characters and the space background.

successful campaign as they have been
able to gain 418 million people listen on
Spotify and have sold thousands already
on ITunes after being released only last
year and has gained nearly 137 million
views on YouTube.
