How did you attract/address your audience?
Based upon my market research, I came to a decision to make my target audience mainly 16-18 year
olds, as teens are more likely to buy music magazines as there students and will have spare money
for items like this, also there more likely to be in to the current music therefore having a bigger
target audience for my magazine and is likely to appeal to other age groups but mainly teens. I have
made my magazine appeal to this age group with use of the Guttenberg principle, as in the primary
optical area I made it so the masthead and the main section of the image are in the optical area. The
picture used will also appeal to the target audience as it’s a picture of a popular teenaged artist and
in the picture he is gives direct address to the audience to add to the appeal to the audience. The
house style consists of bright colours to get the attention of the teens as there attention is harder to
get so the magazine needs to stand out to them. Also the cover lines of the magazine will address
the needs of my audience as they advertise new music to them that is there type of genre.
