• He is preparing to leave the house, his mother is in the scene and is
worried about him. It becomes obvious the mother is a single parent
giving a clue to the audience that his father is unknown to Lucas.
• His mother is focus on his safety and worries about him coming home.
• The camera will focus on the mother so that the audience becomes
familiar with her so they understand how important she is later on the
film. The sound during this point of the short with be diegetic sounds of
the character’s actions, at this point no music is need to add significance
to the scene.
• The costumes of the characters will be general due to the fact we are not
trying to connote social class thus can be normal casual clothes for Lucas.
