Hannah Wilkinson proposes a short sci-fi film project titled "Back in Time" involving two teenagers investigating someone who has been time traveling. The project will follow the teenagers as they solve a mystery and end up traveling back to the late 1800s. Hannah has strengthened skills in Premiere Pro, editing techniques, visual effects, camera use, planning, and time management from previous tasks that will help with this project. Research will include sci-fi genres preferred by teenagers and experiments using effects like time traveling in Premiere Pro. The project will be evaluated through self-reflection, peer feedback, and assessing technical qualities, planning, and time management.

Project proposal title and date:
Back in time 21/03/2022
Main area of activity:
film
Rationale:
Throughout the year I have strengthened my skills in premiere pro which will help me with
editing and visual effects in my project. During the music video task I learned lots of new
editing techniques and visual effects which will help me in production. I have also learned
better time management skills which will help me stay organised during the project. I also
learned how to use a camera which will use to film. My planning skills have also improved
over the year so I will be able to use this to create a strong plan that will assist with
production. The music video task was similar to this one as it focused on filming and
editing which are skills I will be taking into this project.
Project Concept:
For my project I would like to make a couple scenes from a sci fi film. It will follow two teenagers as
they investigate somebody who has been time traveling. They follow clues and end up going back
in time to the late 1800s. My project will take place from the point of conflict between the two
characters. One of the characters will have found some new information and will have solved the
mystery. They will then follow their clues and end up travelling back in time.
I will need to research into what kind of sci fi films people of a young teenage target audience
prefer. I will need to see what kind of subgenre younger people prefer. This can help me set the
right tone for my own project. I can also research into what age group this type of film is most
interested in seeing. I might need to alter my project idea to appeal to different target audience. I
will also need to do some experiments using premiere pro in order to find out how to do the time
travelling effect. It will be helpful to get some practice using more effects before production.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate my project by conducting some on-going evaluation with self-reflections and
a final evaluation once it is finished. This will help me with future projects because I can
take what I liked into new projects and improve from parts I’m not happy with. This will help
with a future media career because I can make sure that I am making improvements to my
skills and it will help me to learn more from the work I produce.
