The Green Mount Cameroon project aims to conserve biodiversity in the Mount Cameroon Forest Region through reducing pressure on forests from fuel wood collection. Run by RCE Buea, an organization established in 2010 to address socioeconomic and environmental challenges in southwest Cameroon, the project will establish tree nurseries, conduct planting initiatives, and raise awareness about threats to the forest through workshops and school clubs. The project supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals including those related to poverty, water and sanitation, economic growth, sustainable consumption, and climate change.
