2. WHAT IS RECREATIONAL SPORT?
• Recreational sports are those activities where
the primary purpose of the activity is
participation with the related goals of
improved :
Fun
Physical fitness
Social involvement.
3. • Recreational sports are usually perceived as
being less stressful, both physically and
mentally, on the participants.
• This is due to the lower pressure and
expectation in this mode of sports.
• In many area of interest, recreational sports
attract the participants to get being involved
and at the same time fill their leisure time and
having fun besides gaining to new precious
knowledge.
4. KAYAKING
• A kayak is a small human powered boat.
• It typically has a covered deck, and a cockpit
covered by a spray deck.
• It is boosted by a double-bladed paddle in the
hand of sitting paddler.
5.
6. • Basic sciences that applied to kayak is physic
theories and laws, knowledge of tides and
current and basic paddling with rescue skills.
7. PHYSIC THEORIES AND LAWS
• Newton's laws of motion are three physical laws
which provide relationship between the forces
acting on a body and the motion of the body.
• In the first law stated that when an object is at
equilibrium for example at rest state, it stays that
way until force changes how it’s moving.
• The second law states the relationship between
an object’s mass m, its acceleration a, and the
applied force F is F=ma.
8. KNOWLEDGE OF TIDES AND CURRENT
• A tide is where the level of the sea and
associated bodies of water periodically
fluctuates due to the action of gravitational
forces from the lunar and sun upon the
rotating earth.
• Strongest tides occur when sun, earth and
moon are lined up.
9. PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECTS
• Participating in recreational will gives
physiological effects to us.
• When we are involved in activity that need us
to move our body a lot, heart needs to pump
more blood to supply oxygen to muscle .
• Heart beats faster and contracts forcefully to
increase stroke volume.
• The volume of blood pumped into the other
parts of body increases gradually.
10. CONCLUSION
• Recreational sports does not exist alone
without the application of the basic science.
• In order to have an enjoying experience of
recreational sports, we as a participant must
at least obtain basic knowledge and methods
of science regarding to the recreational sports
we are involved in.
• Without the basic knowledge of science, the
fun of the sports might turn into massive
disaster and we may lose our life.
