1. Emma Upton Interview Questions
Alright guys so first off, how did you guys first met and how long have you guys known
each other?
Danny: Well I’ve known Mark our bassist for 9 years since the beginning of high school; we
went to the same school, same college and even same university. So we’ve been very close
for a number of years now, he’s like an adopted brother to me now. Then we met Callum
through a mutual friend almost 2 years ago.
Mark: We just gelled with Cal, hung out more and grew pretty close in a short amount of
time. When Danny and I began to create music for fun, we knew Cal could play drums, we
all loved the same style of music, it seemed like fait to meet him.
Callum: Yeah I just met these guys on a night out with my friends and we hit it off straight
away, now I can’t imagine my life without these guys! More like brothers than just
bandmates or friends.
In your down time from touring or creating music, what do you do in yourspare time?
Mark: When we’re on a break from touring, we usually take two weeks off from doing band
stuff, just have some needed R&R back at home in actual beds instead of those in our tour
bus. But we still see each other a lot, Xbox nights with pizza and beer is probably the best
way to relax for us.
Danny: After a tour I’m usually missing my family and fiancé loads, so I go back and spend as
much time with them as possible before starting to make more music. When I’m not with
these two, of course. Yeah definitely!
You’ve had a huge breakthrough in the USA; from being such a small British band is this
what you dreamt of? What you wanted when you first got together?
Callum: I wouldn’t say it was always our dream. Of course there’s always going to be that
hope of ‘what if we make it’ when we started, but it was mostly for fun when we weren’t
working or busy as a way to chill out and see each other.
Danny: Yeah I think we all had a moment when we I guess, ‘made it’ of realising this was
actually happening! It felt so surreal; we always hoped that it may happen but never
thought it would realistically become reality so quickly.
2. Emma Upton Interview Questions
Since you’ve gotten really popular very quickly overthe past year, what first shocked you
when in the lime light?
Danny: The first time hearing a crowd sing your lyrics back to you is definitely a shock to the
system!
Mark: Having people know who you are in the middle of a street was a crazy experience!
Callum: Yeah I remember me and Mark popping out to Tesco for some drinks and being
stopped so many times it took us 2 hours to make a half an hour trip! Nothing better than
meeting the people that support you though!
Danny, we know your engaged, congratulations. Does fame, touring and everything else
that comes with being in a popular band take a toll on yourrelationship? How do you guys
make it work?
Danny: Yeah at first it was quite difficult, but with technology like FaceTime and Skype I can
still see her every day. Ella’s been there supporting us from day one, I’m super lucky to have
her in my life, so when she’s free from University and work, I bring her along as much as
possible. She loves being on tour, being able to look over to the side of the stage and see
her face makes it even more amazing! Ella keeps me grounded, fame can definitely go to
your head and I don’t want that, she makes it feel more real.
Alright guys, finally where in the world do you guys want to play the most?
Callum: Tokyo is the dream! We have a surprisingly big fan base over there and the city is so
beautiful, yeah Japan and Tokyo is definitely the one I’d love to play!
Mark: Definitely Japan! But I love everywhere we’ve played, it’s always so much fun! The
fans in the US are crazy, but it’s great to play at our home town, Manchester.
Danny: Yeah I’d play anywhere, anywhere the fans want us we’ll try to make a reality! A full
US tour is probably a dream of ours too!
