3. Introduction
Bangor University is a public university in Bangor,
Wales. It received its Royal Charter in 1885 and was
one of the founding institutions of the federal
University of Wales. Officially known as University
College of North Wales (UCNW), and later University of
Wales, Bangor (UWB; Welsh: Prifysgol Cymru, Bangor),
in 2007 it became Bangor University, independent from
the University of Wale. With around 12,000 students
and 650 teaching staff, Bangor offers more than 300
undergraduate and 100 postgraduate programmes
across five colleges. Although courses are
predominantly taught in English, many undergraduate
courses are also taught in Welsh.

8. Academic Entry Requirements – undergraduate Courses
Undergraduate/Bachelor Degree:
HSC (4.5 GPA or above) will be considered for direct admission to
Bachelor degree courses.
HSC Student (below 4.5 GPA) – plus 1 year Foundation Programs
or must obtain a two-year Bachelor Degree (Pass).
Mature students will be considered on a case by case basis.
Entry into Year 2 will be considered for students with a HND or at
least one year of study at a University overseas or in the UK
9. Academic Entry Requirements - Postgraduate Courses
Postgraduate/Master Degree:
Bachelor Degree (4 years) with overall grade of GPA 2.5 or 55% or
higher.
Mature students will be considered on a case by case basis.
If you do not meet the requirements for entry onto a Masters Degree in
Bangor Business School then we can consider you for entry onto
*International Incorporated Masters.
*The pre-masters part of our International Incorporated Masters is
taught on campus at Bangor University International College and
delivered by our partner Oxford International Education Group.
10. English language requirements
International Year Zero: High school certificate or equivalent from your
home country + IELTS 5.5 (5.5).
International Year 1: School leaving qualification equivalent to the British
school leaving qualification (A-levels / IB) + IELTS 5.5 (5.5).
Undergraduate Courses: School leaving qualification equivalent to the
British school leaving qualification (A-levels / IB) or the University may
also recognize relevant professional experience of 2 years or longer for
entry onto our degree programs + IELTS 6.0 (5.5).
Postgraduate Courses: Undergraduate / bachelor degree of equivalent
standard to the British undergraduate/bachelor degree or the University
may also recognize relevant professional experience of 2 years or longer
for entry onto our degree programs + IELTS 6.0 (5.5).
PhD/Research Course: Postgraduate / Master’s Degree of equivalent
standard to the British Postgraduate / Master’s Degree + IELTS 6.0 (5.5).
