2. The original image has
some very good
colouring; I did not
change the histogram in
this image, as I did not
know how it would affect
the aged look, as if there
was too much white, this
would make it harder for
me to add in text.
3. With changing the image to
the Daguerreotype style;
all you have to do is: go to
‘Effects’, ‘Photo Effects’
and to ‘Time Machine’
here you are then able to
pick the time era in which
your photo can be set in.
This will allow your image to
have the aged quality, and
its very simple and quick.
4. With the image; I have used
the paintbrush tool and
roughly gone over the eyes:
this gives the impression
that they have been
scrapped off the image.
This was inspired by images
such as ‘The Woman in
Black’, as it makes the image
look more dramatic.
5. Here you can see that I
have started to add in
some text: this was
experimenting with the
height of the last part of
the tagline, so that the
text is clearly visible on
the background.
This then means: that
the colours do not have
to be changed.
6. With the Title I would
suggest it to all be the same
size (in capitals) as it follows
the general convention of
film posters; it also looks
more imposing.
So intern is more likely to
draw in the audiences eye,
this could mean that more
people could go to see your
final product.
7. Here I have added in the
first bit of the tagline; I
have decided to put it
under the title as it seems
to follow in the curve of the
protagonists body, it also
will then allow the eye to
be drawn down the page:
to the second part of the
tagline, and overall I think
that it will look more
effective.
8. On this slide you have the
building up of the second part
of the tagline: this is the long
line ‘you’re sure in for a’.
The reason to why this is not
the how text is that it looks far
more effective separated, also
it is easier to have the text in
different sizes, placed in
different boxes: as this allows
the text to be moved around
easier, and so it allows you to
join and align the text up
easier.
9. For this slide I have added in
some information about the
Director; this is inplace of the
Actors: as our film is using all
unknown actress’, and
generally they would not be
posted on the poster. The
reason to why the Director
comment is there is so that;
its supposed to be if there is a
fan base then people will go to
see it ( and this is what I am
insinuating)
10. In this caption I have place the
age rating sign in the right
hand corner; I have also aged
it similarly to the background
image, this is so that it does
not standout as harshly.
This would have drawn the eye
to the corner, and so the
audience would be captivated
by this, and would not look at
the rest of the image.
11. With this slide; I have just
finished off the text for
the tagline with the word
‘BIG’; to emphasise this
point I have made it
bigger than the text
around it, I have also
lined it up with ‘sure’ and
the beginning of ‘suprise’
as then it makes the text
seem more fluid and
staggered.
12. An important part of having a
film poster; is about having
the date at the bottom of
the page, here I have placed
a rough date to what I
would estimate that the
film could be released at
(this is based on work done
in earlier posts).
It mirrors the Director’s quote:
so spans the full distance of
the bottom of the page,
and because its in a Capital
font, is clearly visible.
13. Here I have place in the
billing block; it was
created on Microsoft
Word and then paste
onto the image: this is
because it was easier
to have the text in the
two different sizes,
than to do it on the
Macromedia site.
14. For this slide I have finished
off the title by adding
‘THE’; the reason to why I
placed it inside the ‘C’ is
to make the text more
varied, also it makes
more of a statement.
The size of the text is also
relevant to that of the
tagline, this then helps
with the proportion, and
draws in a connection.
15. This is one of the last slides:
here I have placed the
QR-Code this will link my
poster to my trailer, that
has been placed on my
YouTube account.
This does not have to be
done, but I have placed it
there so that it connects
the print based media to
the electronic media.
16. In this slide I have just
scratched out more of
the eyes off the
protagonists image;
this has made this part
of the image more
pronounced, and
makes the eyes look
larger, as if the
character was scared
before she died.
17. With my final image I like the
fact that its not overly
complicated, I like the fact
that you can clearly see the
writing on the text, but I
does not look cheap.
It seems to have a completely
different effect to the
magazine cover, and uses a
completely different style
of image and composition.
