This document outlines the ACTTE project which aims to develop skills for empowering marginalized groups. The project will: 1. Create a toolbox of empowerment training materials for social workers. 2. Provide empowerment trainings through 5 workshops across multiple countries for social workers and teachers. 3. Disseminate results through published articles, conference presentations and a final seminar. The project is led by several European universities and NGOs and will run from 2019-2021 with a total budget of €186,894.

1. Elaboration of TOOL BOX based on the Empowerment concept for employees of non-
governmental organizations (NGOs) working with marginalized and socially excluded people
as well as academic teachers educating future educators and social workers
2. Developing competencies / skills in the field of DPA in persons participating in trainings (both
NGO employees and academic teachers).

6. TASK1. Action Research:
◦ Timeline: 01.10.2019 – 31.03.2021
◦ Responsible institution: Karel de Grote Hogeschool
◦ Expected outcomes: elaboration of research tools that can be used in further academic and
environmental work and will be included in the TOOL BOX

7. TASK 1: Action Research
◦ preparation of diagnostic tool for measuring the professional and social skills of trainings
participants (pre-test/post-test) (responsible institution: KdG, substantive verification: HE2B, UŚ)
◦ preparation of focus interviews scenarios regarding the participants’ (NGOs employees)
experience during training and the use of acquired knowledge and skills in professional practice
between trainings + conducting 4 interviews lasting 2 hours each, starting from the second
workshop in June 2020 (responsible institutions KdG + HE2B, substantive verification: UŚ)
◦ statistic analysis and elaboration of research results (responsible institutions: HE2B + UŚ)
◦ 2 working meetings with all the project partners (1st kick off meeting in October 2019,
ASKORIA, France; 2nd meeting for final testing of prepared tools and training materials in
February 2020, University of Silesia)

8. TASK 2. DPA trainings
◦ Timeline: 01.10.2019 - 31.03.2021
◦ Responsible institution: Haute Ecole de Bruxelles-Brabant (HE2B)
◦ Target group: 2 DPA trainers (1 from HE2B and 1 from KdG) and 12 training participants (14
people in total) and indirectly - social assistance beneficiaries with whom NGOs employees
participating in trainings will work(16 people) and students of developed courses.

9. TASK 2: DPA Trainings
◦ preparation of 5 DPA trainings for academic teachers and social workers (creation of scenarios +
evaluation questionnaire) in the period 01.10.2019 - 31.03.2020 (responsible institutions: HE2B + KdG,
substantive verification: HE2B, UŚ)
◦ realization of 5 DPA trainings in the period 01.04.2020 - 31.03.2021 (responsible institutions: HE2B +
KdG)
Workshop 1 in Italy (April 2020): 2 days of training, 2 days of field experimentation in CNOS
Workshop 2 in Poland (June 2020): 2 days of training, 2 days of field experimentation in

10. Project’s participants/beneficiaries:
◦ Employees of NGOs (8 people – 2 from CNOS, 2 from IPU, 2 form AMIGO, 2 from „17-stka”
Association). Between the trainings (5 meetings planned) they will use acquired skills in practice,
register their activities (create video, notes, activity logs) and share their experiences with other
trainings participants at subsequent meetings (according to the Action Research methodology)
◦ Academic teachers (4 people – 2 from ASKORIA, 2 from UŚ) educating future educators and
social workers (Academic teachers based on the experience of NGOs employees will create
materials to work with students so that they are properly prepared for environmental work.

11. Expected outcomes:
◦ each of 8 NGOs employees will use the learned approach with at least 2 people (which will
include at least 16 beneficieries of social assistance)
◦ each of the participating teachers will conduct at least 1 class with 10 students (which will
include at least 40 students)

12. TASK 3. TOOL BOX
◦ Timeline: 01.10.2019-10-01 - 30.09.2021
◦ Responsible institution: ASKORIA - Les Métiers Des Solidarités
◦ Target group: training participants (12) and trainers (2), as well as employees of partner
institutions who will be able to use the "tool box" set (approx. 30 people)

13. TASK 3 : Tool box
◦ maintenance of existing DPA e-learning platform
◦ preparation of videos
◦ preparation of new didactic materials
◦ substantive verification of prepared teaching materials (responsible institutions: HE2B + UŚ)
◦ integration of the training and research results into the tool box
◦ integration of the diagnostic tools prepared during the project into the tool box
◦ preparation of cooperation strategies between partners in the use of the tool box
◦ translation of prepared didactic materials and diagnostic tools into English and each partners'
language (French, Spanish, Italian, Polish)

14. Expected outcomes:
◦ Providing access to the digital version of the set of materials and tools included in the "tool box"
to partner institutions and project participants.

15. TASK 4. Dissemination
◦ Timeline: od 01.01.2021 do 30.09.2021
◦ Responsible institution: University of Silesia
◦ Target group: 50 participants of the final seminar and indirectly - readers of prepared scientific
articles and recipients of conference presentations

◦ preparation of scientific articles (3 articles in English - one prepared by HE2B, KdG, University of
Silesia)
