This document provides information about APS - Teachers' Association of Sintra, the fourth partner of the RIGHTS project. It outlines APS's experience with previous EU projects, its roles and expectations for the RIGHTS project, and contact information for individuals involved. APS is a nonprofit organization established in 1992 that provides professional development for over 1,800 educators. It will coordinate the project's first interim meeting, contribute to research, course development, and dissemination work packages, and promote the project's goals in Portugal. The participation aims to further understanding of digital storytelling in education and promote global citizenship education.

• non-profit organisation created in 1992;
• +1800 associates (educators and educational institutions)
• mission is supporting teachers of all levels and to enhance their
professional development;
• work covers: national and international conferences, seminars,
publications, thematic workshops, in-service training courses,
European courses, participation in national and international
projects, etc.
• In-service Teacher Training Centre recognised by the Portuguese
Ministry of Education since 1993 (wide range of areas involving
yearly more than one thousand teachers of all teaching levels).
• Use of ICT and distance learning methodologies in teacher training
inniciatives (LCMS, electronic course design, educational resources
mediatisation and online tutoring)

8. Roles in RIGHTS project (2/3)
• WP1: Set up of Steering Committee, work teams; Participation in
management of project activities and administrative issues; Participation
in kick-off, interim and final meetings; Organization of the 1st Interim
Meeting in Sintra. Implementation of monitoring tools on progress of
activities/sustained expenses; Contribution to the drawing up of progress
and final reports.
• WP2: Setting up Q&E Team; Filling in evaluation grids and meetings
questionnaire; Submit expectation/satisfaction questionnaires to teachers
and data collection national level; Fixe up a focus group with students and
teachers and data collection at national level.
• WP3: Setting up of Research and Didactic Team; Realization of
documentary research at national level; Submission of the multi-level
survey to teachers and students; Data analysis at national level.
• WP4: WP Coordination; RIGHTS E-course syllabus definition; Host and

10. Expectations for the participation in the
RIGHTS project
• Contribute to the understanding of the issues involved
in the the use of DST methodology in Education;
• promote the use of DST methodology in Education in
EU Secondary Schools in general and in PT in particular;
• promote EGC - Education for Global Citizenship in EU
Secondary Schools in general and in PT in particular;
• promote the use of eLearning as a tool for in-service
teacher training;
• fullfilll the general and specific objectives of the
RIGHTS Project.
