4. INTRODUCTION:-
 Developed by the Software Engineering Institute
of the Carnegie Mellon University in 1997.
 Framework that describes the maturity of an
organization.
 Describes an evolutionary improvement path for
software organizations from an ad hoc, immature
process to a mature, disciplined one.
 It is used for refinement of processes.
