manufacturing and service business. Responsibilities include manufacturing operations in Orange,
California, Mexicali, Mexico and Etten-Leur, The Netherlands. After merging with Tuboscope in 2000,
Varco International, Inc. became a $4.0 billion premier mid-cap oil field products and services company.
 Recognized leader of the manufacturing revolution. Implemented QRM (Quick Response
Manufacturing) in Orange and Etten-Leur facilities. Dramatically reduced indirect overhead while
significantly improving on time delivery, quality and lead times.
 Facilities are “best in class” among all the Varco locations.
 Reduced labor content of products by >20% on average while reducing overall lead times by >50%.
 Taking full advantage of the velocity model set forth in QRM.
 Set in place an aggressive forecasting model to allow 3 to 4 week deliveries on products normally

In 2001, the company reorganized, eliminating its divisional structure and moved into a functional
organizational arrangement where I was tasked with establishing worldwide spare parts, service, and rental
and repair organization.
 Refurbished operations in Aberdeen, Scotland, Singapore, Lafayette, Louisiana, and Houston Texas.
 Established new operations in Stavanger, Norway, Dubai, U.A.E., and Macae, Brazil
 Standardized operations, training and reporting in all locations.
 Established B2B with several key customers.
 Established an eDrill monitoring center in Houston that provided on-line, real time monitoring and
diagnostic capabilities of complex robotic equipment in remote locations throughout the world.

 Ramped up production from 272181 standard hours in 1995 to 575013 standard hours in 1998. This
was a key enabler to the revenue growth.
