2. Physical characteristics-
Norway is located on the Scandinavian Peninsula.
It is largely dominated buy mountains with about 2/3 of the
country being just mountains.
The highest point, Galdhopiggen, is in the
Kjolen Mountains, it is 2,469 meters.
3. Culture.
Norway is much like America in that it is a
melting pot of many different ethnic
backgrounds, one of the main cultures vein
egalitarian. A very large difference though is
that it is perfectly acceptable for couples to
live together without being formally
married. Along with this women can be very
high in society and the work place,
something that is relatively uncommon in
other parts of the world.
4. Customs and traditions
Norways traditions are very similar to Americas, for instance
the celebrate Christmas and have many similar greetings and
customs. One large difference though is that they still enjoy
whale hunting. they view it as a very strong tradition and it is
very important to them. Another tradition is taking very long
walks on sunday afternoons, these can last from 3 to 5 hours.
One of there final cutoms is taking naps after lunch on
weekdays.
