BACKGROUND
The Global Quality Precision (GQP) was established in the Egypt to serve globally and to provide
asset integrity and inspection support services to clients. Global Quality Precision (GQP) has grown
to become a knowledge transfer agent and is continually expanding its activities by improving and
investing in knowledge and skill. Global Quality Precision (GQP) 's range of products and services
was selected to provide excellent and consistent customer services.

PLANT INSPECTION SERVICES AND RBI STUDIES
CONVENTIONAL NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING SERVICES
X-Ray & Gamma Radiography
Radiography involves the use of penetrating Gamma or
X-ray to examine parts for internal imperfections. An X-
ray generator or a radioactive isotope is used as the
source of radiation. Radiation is directed through a test
area and onto a film, through which an imperfection is
indicated by a change in density on the film. This results
in the clear detection of imperfections as they are more
visible as compared to the results of Ultrasonic Flaw
Detection.
Technique capability:
* All type of materials can be inspected
* Produces the permanent evidence (radiography film).
 Length of the defect can be sized.
 Type of defects for more root cause analysis and investigation.
Ultrasonic Testing
The thickness measurement & internal flaws of a material can be
examined by using Ultrasonic Testing. It first transmits sound waves
at a high frequency into a material. The sound introduced into the
test object then returns to a receiver when it reflects off an internal
imperfection or from the back wall surface. The imperfection or
thickness is determined by the echo that is returned.
Technique capability:
*All type of materials can be inspected. Inspection can be executed
from one side access only.
* Length & Depth of the defect can be sized.
Magnetic Particle Testing
Magnetic Particle Inspection is used to examine surface and near surface defects by using magnetic
field and small ferrous particles (iron filings) to detect flaws in test object. By inducing a magnetic
field in a Ferro-magnetic material and then dusting the surface with iron fillings, any surface/near
surface flaws will be visibly shown by an accumulation of iron filings.
Technique capability:
* Only ferromagnetic materials can be inspected. Detects Surface & Near Surface defects.
Liquid Penetrant Testing
Liquid penetrant testing is used to check for surface
defects of a component .Test object are coated with dye,
then the excess dye is removed after penetration time
and a developer is applied onto it. The developer acts as
a blotter. Any imperfections/cracks is seen visibly by the
“Bleedout”.
Technique capability:
*All types of Non Porous materials can be inspected.
*Detects open surface defects.
Positive Material Identification (P.M.I)
Our PMI XRF alloy analyzers are portable hand-held devices that
perform a non-destructive test on the material at any time in
merely seconds. XRF works by exposing the material to a flux of x-
rays. The atoms then absorb the energy and become temporarily
excited and they fluoresce, or emit x-rays. The x-rays emitted by
the sample’s atoms possess clearly defined energies that are
unique to the elements present in the sample. By measuring the
intensity and energy, the XRF instrument can provide qualitative
and quantitative analysis. In short, it can identify the elements,
measure the concentration of each and display them on the unit.
Technique capability:
*Identifies the material chemical composition in few seconds.
*Capable of inspecting fixed structures.
*Inspection can be performed in a limited access area.
Hardness Test
Hardness tests are used in mechanical engineering to determine
the hardness of a material to deformation. Several such tests
exist, wherein the examined material is indented until an
impression is formed; these tests can be performed on a
macroscopic or microscopic scale.
When testing metals, indentation hardness correlates linearly
with tensile strength. This relation permits economically
important nondestructive testing of bulk metal deliveries with
lightweight, even portable equipment, such as hand-held Rockwell hardness testers.
ADVANCED NON DESTRUCTIVETESTING SERVICES
Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT)
Phased array ultrasonic testing uses multiple elements to
steer, focus and scan beams with a single transducer
assembly. Beam steering, commonly referred to sectorial
scanning, can be used for mapping components at
appropriate angles. This can greatly simplify the inspection
of components with complex geometry. The ability to test
welds with multiple angles from a single probe greatly
increases the probability of detection of anomalies.
Technique capability:
* Ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected.
Inspection in limited access area, where there is
limited access for raster scanning.
* Inspection speed In a linear scanning whole weld
area will be inspected, which tremendously reduces
the inspection time.
* High probability of defect detection.
Time of flight Diffraction Ultrasonic Testing (TOFD)
TOFD technique is a real time imaging system that
produces a cross sectional view (D-Scan) of the
material tested. Two compression wave angled
probes were placed in a pitch and catch
configuration with a fixed Probe Center Separation
(PCS), with one probe as the transmitter and the
other as receiver. Defects are detected by the
diffracted ultrasound wave occurring at the edges
of defects.
Technique capability:
* Ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected.
* Precise defect sizing.
* High probability of defect detection.
* High speed welds inspection.
* High speed cladding surface corrosion screening.
Corrosion Mapping (UT C-Scan & B-scan)
Corrosion Mapping Provides precise thickness
measurement and a virtual picture of the damage. It
produces repeatable images displaying in top views
(C-Scan) and sectional views (B-scan).
Technique capability:
* Ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected
Accuracy of measurement is ± 0.2mm.
* Scan speed of 100 mm X 50 mm per Second.
Alternative Current Field Measurement (ACFM)
ACFM is an electromagnetic testing capable of detecting
and sizing surface breaking cracks in metals. The basis of
the technique is that an alternating locally uniform
current is induced to flow in the component being tested.
Defect detection and sizing is based on the disturbance of
uniform current due to the surface breaking cracks.
Technique capability:
* Length & depth of the defect can be measured
accurately paint and other protective coatings several
millimeters can be left on.
* The primary advantage is that little or no surface
preparation is required.
* All data can be stored for audit
Remote Visual Inspection (RVI)
RVI tool(camera) was send through the small opening of the remote
places and the internal images were sending back to the inspector’s
observation screen, were the inspector can inspect & record the images.
Test report is given with cd of recoded inspection video.
Technique capability:
* Our RVI tool is designed in a way that can be rotated at 900.
* Minimum accessible opening for RVI tool is 10mm.
Tube Inspection Eddy Current Tube Testing (E.C.T)
Eddy current tube testing is a high speed & versatile
method for the inspection of nonferrous tubing. The test
is performed with a bobbin coil that produces an
electromagnetic field in the tube. When the probe is
pulled across a discontinuity, the electromagnetic field is
distorted. This distortion in magnetic field changes the
coil impedance that is related to the discontinuity.
Technique capability:
* Only nonferrous tubes can be inspected.
* Detects discontinuities such as corrosion,
erosion, wear, pitting, baffles cuts & cracks.
* Inspection speed 2m/s.
* Productivity 800 tubes per shift (based on site
condition may differ)
Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS)
IRIS is the most instructive tube inspection method. This advanced inspection uses ultrasonic
technology to measure wall thinning and pitting due to corrosion and erosion in the tubes.
Technique capability:
* Both ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected. Detects general wall thinning such
as corrosion & erosion and localized defects such as pitting, wear scars. Measures the
absolute wall thickness of the tube. Inspection speed 2inch/s.
* Productivity 80 tubes per shift (based on site condition may differ)
LIFTING INSPECTION
- We are committed to introduce high skilled and experienced lifting inspectors approved by LEEA.
PWHT (POST WELD HEAT TREATMENT) SERVICES
This is an operation or combination of operation which metals are
heated and cooled to enhance and strengthen the physical
properties of the material. There are 4 basic types of Heat Treatment
method which are Annealing, Normalizing, Hardening and
Tampering. With our Hi-tech equipment, we are able to assist you in
enhancing the strength of your metals.
We have a high skilled team with international experience in Power
Plants material (P91 – P92 and Special Materials) and Well
experience with GCC Oil and Gas projects.

  • 6. CONVENTIONAL NON DESTRUCTIVE TESTING SERVICES X-Ray & Gamma Radiography Radiography involves the use of penetrating Gamma or X-ray to examine parts for internal imperfections. An X- ray generator or a radioactive isotope is used as the source of radiation. Radiation is directed through a test area and onto a film, through which an imperfection is indicated by a change in density on the film. This results in the clear detection of imperfections as they are more visible as compared to the results of Ultrasonic Flaw Detection. Technique capability: * All type of materials can be inspected * Produces the permanent evidence (radiography film).  Length of the defect can be sized.  Type of defects for more root cause analysis and investigation. Ultrasonic Testing The thickness measurement & internal flaws of a material can be examined by using Ultrasonic Testing. It first transmits sound waves at a high frequency into a material. The sound introduced into the test object then returns to a receiver when it reflects off an internal imperfection or from the back wall surface. The imperfection or thickness is determined by the echo that is returned. Technique capability: *All type of materials can be inspected. Inspection can be executed from one side access only. * Length & Depth of the defect can be sized. Magnetic Particle Testing Magnetic Particle Inspection is used to examine surface and near surface defects by using magnetic field and small ferrous particles (iron filings) to detect flaws in test object. By inducing a magnetic field in a Ferro-magnetic material and then dusting the surface with iron fillings, any surface/near surface flaws will be visibly shown by an accumulation of iron filings. Technique capability: * Only ferromagnetic materials can be inspected. Detects Surface & Near Surface defects.

Liquid Penetrant Testing Liquid penetrant testing is used to check for surface defects of a component .Test object are coated with dye, then the excess dye is removed after penetration time and a developer is applied onto it. The developer acts as a blotter. Any imperfections/cracks is seen visibly by the “Bleedout”. Technique capability: *All types of Non Porous materials can be inspected. *Detects open surface defects. Positive Material Identification (P.M.I) Our PMI XRF alloy analyzers are portable hand-held devices that perform a non-destructive test on the material at any time in merely seconds. XRF works by exposing the material to a flux of x- rays. The atoms then absorb the energy and become temporarily excited and they fluoresce, or emit x-rays. The x-rays emitted by the sample’s atoms possess clearly defined energies that are unique to the elements present in the sample. By measuring the intensity and energy, the XRF instrument can provide qualitative and quantitative analysis. In short, it can identify the elements, measure the concentration of each and display them on the unit. Technique capability: *Identifies the material chemical composition in few seconds. *Capable of inspecting fixed structures. *Inspection can be performed in a limited access area. Hardness Test Hardness tests are used in mechanical engineering to determine the hardness of a material to deformation. Several such tests exist, wherein the examined material is indented until an impression is formed; these tests can be performed on a macroscopic or microscopic scale. When testing metals, indentation hardness correlates linearly with tensile strength. This relation permits economically important nondestructive testing of bulk metal deliveries with lightweight, even portable equipment, such as hand-held Rockwell hardness testers.

ADVANCED NON DESTRUCTIVETESTING SERVICES Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) Phased array ultrasonic testing uses multiple elements to steer, focus and scan beams with a single transducer assembly. Beam steering, commonly referred to sectorial scanning, can be used for mapping components at appropriate angles. This can greatly simplify the inspection of components with complex geometry. The ability to test welds with multiple angles from a single probe greatly increases the probability of detection of anomalies. Technique capability: * Ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected. Inspection in limited access area, where there is limited access for raster scanning. * Inspection speed In a linear scanning whole weld area will be inspected, which tremendously reduces the inspection time. * High probability of defect detection. Time of flight Diffraction Ultrasonic Testing (TOFD) TOFD technique is a real time imaging system that produces a cross sectional view (D-Scan) of the material tested. Two compression wave angled probes were placed in a pitch and catch configuration with a fixed Probe Center Separation (PCS), with one probe as the transmitter and the other as receiver. Defects are detected by the diffracted ultrasound wave occurring at the edges of defects. Technique capability: * Ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected. * Precise defect sizing. * High probability of defect detection. * High speed welds inspection. * High speed cladding surface corrosion screening.
  • 9. Corrosion Mapping (UT C-Scan & B-scan) Corrosion Mapping Provides precise thickness measurement and a virtual picture of the damage. It produces repeatable images displaying in top views (C-Scan) and sectional views (B-scan). Technique capability: * Ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected Accuracy of measurement is ± 0.2mm. * Scan speed of 100 mm X 50 mm per Second. Alternative Current Field Measurement (ACFM) ACFM is an electromagnetic testing capable of detecting and sizing surface breaking cracks in metals. The basis of the technique is that an alternating locally uniform current is induced to flow in the component being tested. Defect detection and sizing is based on the disturbance of uniform current due to the surface breaking cracks. Technique capability: * Length & depth of the defect can be measured accurately paint and other protective coatings several millimeters can be left on. * The primary advantage is that little or no surface preparation is required. * All data can be stored for audit Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) RVI tool(camera) was send through the small opening of the remote places and the internal images were sending back to the inspector’s observation screen, were the inspector can inspect & record the images. Test report is given with cd of recoded inspection video. Technique capability: * Our RVI tool is designed in a way that can be rotated at 900. * Minimum accessible opening for RVI tool is 10mm.
  • 10. Tube Inspection Eddy Current Tube Testing (E.C.T) Eddy current tube testing is a high speed & versatile method for the inspection of nonferrous tubing. The test is performed with a bobbin coil that produces an electromagnetic field in the tube. When the probe is pulled across a discontinuity, the electromagnetic field is distorted. This distortion in magnetic field changes the coil impedance that is related to the discontinuity. Technique capability: * Only nonferrous tubes can be inspected. * Detects discontinuities such as corrosion, erosion, wear, pitting, baffles cuts & cracks. * Inspection speed 2m/s. * Productivity 800 tubes per shift (based on site condition may differ) Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS) IRIS is the most instructive tube inspection method. This advanced inspection uses ultrasonic technology to measure wall thinning and pitting due to corrosion and erosion in the tubes. Technique capability: * Both ferrous & nonferrous materials can be inspected. Detects general wall thinning such as corrosion & erosion and localized defects such as pitting, wear scars. Measures the absolute wall thickness of the tube. Inspection speed 2inch/s. * Productivity 80 tubes per shift (based on site condition may differ)
