1. DE is organic in origin. It is composed of amorphous, non-metallic
mineral clay, a fresh water variety, that is why it is safe to use.

ammonium ions and reduces portal blood ammonia from the gastro-
intestinal tract, thus a similar growth response is expected .
5. DE as anti-caking agent. It keeps feeds particles separate (no
clumping) so that more surface area are exposed to digestive
enzymes. So more nutrients are utilized.
6. DE can absorb toxic ammonia that cause stress. Stress can cause
blood Co2 level to decrease and blood pH to rise. Low blood
bicarbonate levels cannot support proper egg shell formation. DE

7. DE is a natural de-wormer. It de-ionizes or de-energizes the ova of
the parasites inside the animal's stomach. So the animal can
consume all the foods that it takes in without fear that the parasites
are partaking with it.
8. DE is a natural source of chelated micronutrients and the presence
of zinc and chromium produces more lean meat and less back fat.
This, then, is the cheapest substitute for repartitioning agents.
9. DE as a control for wet droppings for poultry and scouring of

Trace Minerals and the Animal’s Immune System
Diatomaceous Earth is the source of trace minerals. Trace minerals act as
“keys” that unlock the ability of an animal’s immune system to fight off infectious
invaders.
MYCOTOXINS act as an immune system depressant and can be serious,
resulting in irreparable liver damage.
* Low dietary copper can impair the immune system by causing
white blood cells to function inadequately.

1. DE is a natural source of chelated trace minerals. Enzymes and
vitamins do not function without trace elements. Enzymes are

2. It improves the soil ability to retain water. This is due to its high

problems and to make the deserts bloom again. No wonder soil

  • 4. Benefits Of DE In Livestocks 1. DE is organic in origin. It is composed of amorphous, non-metallic mineral clay, a fresh water variety, that is why it is safe to use. 2. DE is calcium dominant, hence it wont absorb the calcium of the feeds. While Na-rich DE will absorb the Ca of the feeds and showed adverse effects when tested on the birds for egg size and animal growth. 3. DE as a toxin binder, mold inhibitor and anti-oxidant. An inherent property of DE is its having a light density, high porosity and high water absorption. It binds mycotoxin to its negative ions. It prevents mold proliferation and rancid odor by absorbing moisture and stabilizes high temperature.

DE has the mode of action of antibiotics in promoting animal growth by reducing the toxic ammonia release by the urease-producing bacteria in the gastro-intestinal lumen. DE has a binding action for ammonium ions and reduces portal blood ammonia from the gastro- intestinal tract, thus a similar growth response is expected . 5. DE as anti-caking agent. It keeps feeds particles separate (no clumping) so that more surface area are exposed to digestive enzymes. So more nutrients are utilized. 6. DE can absorb toxic ammonia that cause stress. Stress can cause blood Co2 level to decrease and blood pH to rise. Low blood bicarbonate levels cannot support proper egg shell formation. DE can, then, improve egg shell quality.

So the animal can consume all the foods that it takes in without fear that the parasites are partaking with it. 8. DE is a natural source of chelated micronutrients and the presence of zinc and chromium produces more lean meat and less back fat. This, then, is the cheapest substitute for repartitioning agents. 9. DE as a control for wet droppings for poultry and scouring of weaning pigs. DE has a mild abrasive effect that when it passes through the intestines, the villi are activated to produce antibodies that fight back bacteria of diarrhea.

  • 16. Trace Minerals and the Animal’s Immune System Diatomaceous Earth is the source of trace minerals. Trace minerals act as “keys” that unlock the ability of an animal’s immune system to fight off infectious invaders. MYCOTOXINS act as an immune system depressant and can be serious, resulting in irreparable liver damage. * Low dietary copper can impair the immune system by causing white blood cells to function inadequately. * Iron in either deficiency or excess can compromise the immune system.
