the transplant patient. High quality primary nursing care provided to the bone marrow transplant
patient, newly diagnosed Leukemia patient and patients with other hematologic disorders and
disease.
Clinically competent assessment skills utilized to determine the patient’s needs. Competently
preformed patient care according to hospital policy and nursing practice standards. This required
excellent phlebotomy skills, highly proficient skills in maintenance of central venous access
devices and insertion of peripheral IV catheters. Prepared and administered medications,
chemotherapeutic agents and treatments according to physician orders, utilizing professional
knowledge base to ensure patient safety. Worked collaboratively with patient care team to
provide patient/family centered care.
