- 2. A. AIR POLLUTION - Means any alteration of the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the atmospheric air. - The air around us become polluted when we release harmful materials into the atmosphere in big amounts. These materials are usually gases, very tiny or fine solid particles and droplets of liquids.
- 3. ๏CARBON MONOXIDE - A colorless and odorless gas. When it enters the body, it robs the braincells of oxygen. This can lead to brain damage.
- 4. ๏SULFUR DIOXIDE - A foul smelling gas that can irritate the nose and skin and cause respiratory ailments.
- 5. ๏NITROGEN DIOXIDE - It causes serious lung damage with delayed effects. It also causes shortness of breathe and chest pains.
- 6. ๏PARTICULATES - Very tiny particles that are a mixture of solids and liquids. Examples are dusts and mists. These have linked to various respiratory ailments including asthma.
- 7. B. LAND POLLUTION - The land becomes polluted when it is filled with solid wastes that cannot be broken down easily into very tiny pieces, either by mechanical force or by the action of bacteria.
- 8. ๏BIODEGRADABLE - Waste that can be broken down easily by bacteria. - Ex. Leftover foods, and animal wastes
- 9. ๏NON-BIODEGRADABLE - Waste that cannot be broken down by bacteria. - Ex. Plastic, Styrofoam, Metals
- 10. C. WATER POLLUTION - Means any alteration of the chemical properties of a body of water resulting in the impairment of its purity and quality. This pollution may cause cholera, diphtheria and diarrhea if taken.
- 11. D. NOISE POLLUTION - The excessive sound that causes hearing loss, stress, fatigue, irritability, tension, headaches, and high blood pressure.
- 12. ๏DEFORESTATION - is the destruction of big areas in the forest. - The Philippines is among the countries with the fastest loss of forest cover around the world. It ranks 4th among the worldโs top 10 most threatened forests hotspots. - Deforestation can involve conversion of forest land to farms, ranches, or urban use.
- 13. ๏FLASHFLOOD - is the sudden flood of great volume, usually caused by heavy rain.
- 14. ๏ILLEGAL MINING - is defined as the extraction of valuable minerals or other geological materials from Earth - Absence of land rights, mining license, exploration or mineral transportation permit or any document that could legitimate the on-going operations.
- 15. ๏SOIL EROSION - Happens when soil and rocks are moved from one place to another by wind, water, and gravity.
- 16. ๏CORAL REEF DEGRADATION - is a significant problem throughout the world. It has been acknowledge that 27% of the worldโs reefs have been affected.

- 19. ๏Flash Floods - Causes of disease such as Cholera and other water- borne disease. - Loss of life - Contamination of water supply

- 21. ๏Illegal Mining - Water poisoning of all living things in it - Barrenness of land
- 22. ๏Coral Reef Degradation - Loss of edible reef fish - Reduction of species diversity and richness

- So when we breathe in polluted air, these chemicals will enter your lungs. So what are the harmful chemicals that is suspended on air that can be harmful to us when we breathe it?
- Carbon monoxide is mostly produced by factories, and is produced whenever a material burns. So for example is when your burning a appliances.
- The largest source of SO2 in the atmosphere is the burning of fossil fuels by power plants and other industrial facilities and also produced by volcanoes. What are the fossil fuels? Petroleum, Oil, Coal and Natural Gas, Kerosene
- The main source of nitrogen dioxide resulting from human activities is the combustion of fossil fuels (coal, gas and oil) especially fuel used in cars. It is also produced from making nitric acid, welding and using explosives, refining of petrol and metals, commercial manufacturing, and food manufacturing
- Particulates also includes material from volcanic eruptions. Larger particles come mostly from the soil. Smaller particles come from burning of fossil fuels, like gasoline in cars, diesel in trucks and coal used by power plants.
- To prevent land pollution we have to perform waste segregation.
- Biodegradable are the nabubulok, so they can be used as a soil fertilizer.
- So including din yung mga basura na di-nabubulok na hindi pwedeng itapon na lang kung saan-saan.
- Too much noise in our environment can actually cause harm to our health. If our surrounding is too much noisy, hindi tayo makakapag-relax at makakapag-pahinga ng maayos.

- Flashflood is commonly observed in lower areas, but sa la Trinidad nangyayari din ito, doon sa la Trinidad valley or doon sa area ng strawberry farm.
- What are the valuable minerals that they extract from Earth? Gold, Silver, Tin, Copper, Lead, Zinc, Iron, Nickel, Chromium, and Aluminum
- Deforestation- is the destruction of big areas in the forest, so mostly pinoputol nila yung mga trees, big number of trees, so because of that wala nang mag hohold ng mga lupa, so pag may typhoon doon na nangyayari and soil erosion and landslide. So pansinin nio yung palaging na lalandslide is yung area na walang puno. Denuded means that you strip land of forests, so parang kaingin, yung nakakalbo na ang mga kabundukan Degraded means reduced, so because of deforestation or cutting of wide number of trees, watersheds were reduced, so wala na yung mga trees na maghohold ng water para sana sa mga watersheds Flooding- because there are no more trees that will hold water and because of that nag cacause na siya ng flood.
