INTRODUCTION
3. LOCATION AND EDITING
The location of the short film is in a form of workplace within an office format.
Both characters seem comfortable in the atmosphere seeming it is there daily
setting. This makes the characters more relatable towards the audience as love
is very common as it is everywhere. However, with the contrast of the location of
the office, love may not be as common which makes the plot of story more
romantic and cheeky.
Post.it Love has been shot in one long take. This shot allows the audience to
understand how both of the protagonists are feeling. The long takes grants their
body language to be shown as well as their facial expression. It presents how
much effort each character goes in depth to express their love to each other
through their actions.
4. SOUND
Throughout the short film, there is no
dialogue being present making sound the
biggest feature as it is the only format to
present how the characters are feelings. It
also creates a good flow in between each
scene making it more fluent and telling the
audience how to anticipate the next
scene.
We can attempt to interpret the
protagonists emotions due to the sounds.
For example, the upbeat and joyful music
adds with their over happy facial
expression tells us how they are feeling.
Throughout the film, the atmosphere is
carried through till the end of the same
jolly mood.
5. Cinematography
Within Post-it love many varying shot types have
been used for example, long shot, Bird eye shot
and an extreme close up.
Long shots allows the audience to engage with
the location and the characters, this opens up the
scene present more detail for the audience to
see. This type of shot has been used in the
scene when the man is making the post-it notes
into an image on the two characters, this shows
his strong emotions towards the woman.
A Bird’s eye shot is used at the beginning when
presenting the woman using th photocopier. The
shot then progresses onto the male character
who is doing the exact same actions, this shows
the similarities between the two.
An Extreme close up is mainly
used when presenting a reaction
shot or their emotions. Within this
short, this close up is used for a
reaction shot showing her
emotions of her feelings towards
the image that the man has
create full of post-it notes.
6. TITLES
The title of ‘Post-it Love’ is in pink, this
colour presents a delicate feelings which
conveys into sweet and playful meaning,
which correlates this short film. The title also
foreshadows the film, as it has ‘post-it’ within
the title. This is a clever way to make the
audience begin to think about the motive in
the film.
