2. Main model
For my main model I want her innocent image to
be reflected, but also want her to look ‘pretty’
and be looked up to be my readers. Considering
this, I will have to ensure not to sexualise my
model, and make her wear stereotypical ‘girlie’
clothes such as pink items and dresses.
3. Dressing my main model
Outfit 1
This is a very fun outfit which has a variation of bright,
and outgoing colours. The baby pink has connotations
of femininity and contrasts to the bold, blue skirt,
portraying the models diverse personality, as she
mentions in the article about how she appears very
confidence and high maintenance on stage, yet is very
shy and down to earth in reality.
I’ve decided to use simple silver jewellery as the outfit
alone is a big enough statement and I still want my
model to look very approachable. Considering this, I
chose a plain necklace with the word “wish” on it and
a simple crystal. The word has connotations of hope
and foreshadows the content of the article which is
about how the artist became famous.
4. Dressing my main model
Outfit 2
I like this dress because of its simplicity. It is
only one colour, and the rose-y shade of pink
denotes the target demographic of
stereotypical young girls. As well as this, the
swishy “skater skirt” makes the dress look less
casual and would add an element of glamour
to my shoot. However, as my artist explains in
her interview that she is just like any normal
girl, I will add a pair of Converse for her to
wear, to ensure the outfit is not too eccentric
and appeals to the target demographic of
mainstreamers.
The party dress also denotes the genre of the
artist’s music which is pop, as the outfit is
something that many of my readers would
wear to a party.
5. Dressing my main model
Outfit 3
My last outfit I will make my model wear is the
most casual. The outfit is something that a lot
of my readers would wear and is not too
dressy or sexual.
The white dress is similar to the one Taylor
Swift modelled during her photo shoot which I
found during my research, and I know the
outfit was popular with their audience, which
is the same as my target readers. Taylor’s dress
was much longer, however I have chosen to
clothe my model in a shorter dress, as she is
only 18.
6. Dressing my main model
I have decided to include a microphone in
some of my model’s poses because I am trying
to create a believable, successful and world
famous singer that will be featured in my
magazine.
I believe photographing my model singing into
the microphone will look very effective and
interesting for my audience.
7. Dressing my main model
By using blowing bubbles in my photo
shoot I can introduce a fun side to my
model and reinforce her youth and
innocence which will appeal to my young
target audience.
With the bubbles, I plan to recreate an
image of Katy Perry, who is an admired
pop singer. I thought the photo of Katy
Perry blowing a bubble was a good
representation of the pop genre as it
denoted the ease and happiness of the
music.
