The BBC are currently looking for a
passionate and empathetic designer who is
interested in research, design, prototyping
or UI. With this job role the BBC are
allowing candidates to contribute to set the
tone for the BBC and increase their
popularity as it is a fairly new role within
their company. They are offering a
permanent contract in Newcastle Upon
Tyne in the North East. Although I am not
personally interested in this specific job
role this was the only permanent job role in
the North East that the BBC are currently
offering, while other locations include New
York, Japan, Thailand, London and Scotland.
The closing date for this position is 26th
January 2023.

When looking for key skills within a candidate the
BBC is looking for:
• Passion and experience to take a lead on UX
design
• Consistent and detailed work
• Strong skills in visual design, interaction design,
branding and typography
• Past experience managing external agencies and
freelancers
• Able to voice new ideas and incorporate them
towards new work
• Be able to work well independently or as a team.
• Work well under pressure and able to present
finished content on time

4. Channel 4- Apprenticeship
Although this isn’t a permanent job, Channel 4
are currently offering apprenticeships for a wide
variety of different job sectors in the media
industry. However, there is an apprenticeship
available for production apprentice which
interested me as training includes workshops,
bootcamps, coaching and tutorials. When
getting this apprenticeship this will allow
candidates to assist producers and production
assistants in different productions however the
candidates are not limited to just this role. By
achieving this apprenticeship this will allow the
apprentice to have gained industry standard
training from professional and have gained
experience by spending time on a set or in a
professional setting.

The ITV are currently looking for a
candidate to take the role of a production
coordinator, role will last around 12
months and it is a full time maternity
cover. This role will focus on the ITV sport
which stream and support events such as
FIFA World Cu, Rugby World Cup, Motor
Sports and UK best Horse Racing. This role
includes working in partner ship with the
editorial team to deliver an outstanding,
distinctive and commercially successful
content within operational, financial and
legal constraints. Within this role you will
also work closely with the production
managers to help provide support across
the board.

looking for:
• Must have a passion for sport
• Must be able to work in unsociable hours,
weekends and bank holidays
• Strong organisation skills
• Outside broadcast experience within a busy and
live production environment with a passion for
sport
• Ability to use initiative and be proactive in the
production environment showing sensitivity to the
needs and pressures of different colleagues.

Some responsibilities that this role includes is:
• Assisting the purchases of orders, dealing with
expenses, liaising with finance depts where
appropriate
• Being the first point of contact on the
production team and supporting the production
manager

legislative and regulatory requirements, Health
and safety and insurance
• To help production managers in identifying and
sourcing appropriate resources and location
requirements for the production at the earliest
