1. My initial planning ideas are featured on my storyboard, the first
steps to gaining these ideas was to think through what I wanted to
be in my music video and if I wanted a narrative or live session. After
choosing a narrative based storyline I had to think of a story, when
doing so I used several ways, first of all I researched similar artists
videos online to base what I had to feature in my music video and all
the stereotypical codes and conventions that I had to ensure would
be in my video. Initially I wanted a rough and vague storyline, that
would take time to work out, so I decided to have the video begin
with a long series of angles and shots of a boy, getting ready and
walking out until he reaches a pub, on the way the editing portrays
an eerie and suspicious feel, once arriving at the pub the boy drinks
and drinks. He then flashes forward to a scene of him at a party of
which is surreal and see’s a girl he likes, the song then ends with a
few more flashbacks In which he passes out. I liked the rough
storyline as drum and bass music has no boundaries and the videos
I had researched never had anything in common, allowing me to
experiment with any storyline I wanted.
