Profile Summary
Currently I am a Senior Network Analyst in Operations at EE in my eighth year. I work in a team with
four other members and we look after data services and charging systems for T-Mobile, Orange, EE and
MVNO’s such as Virgin Asda and BT. This does not include the many corporate’s I maintain. My main
focus being Bytemobile (now Citrix) MIG’s, F5’s, MMS, DNS (customer, Internal, roaming and APN). I
support third layer connectivity too and from the T-Mobile core network. My day to day duties would
involve fixing customer issues on a 3rd
line basis, fault/bug finding, maintaining and updating different
machines and analyzing the traffic on a packet level.
I am also considered the DNS expert and am called into consult in the design processes. The job is
challenging and very different, I really enjoy my work and new challenges.
Technical Summary
Operating Systems: All Microsoft based, All Linux based, All UNIX based, Cisco.
Programing:
Erlang, Perl, Bash, Batch, html, limited php

Cisco SM/SCE, Cisco Routers.
Telephony: Meridian option 11 & 21, Symposium, Call pilot 4 & 5, Nortel, Ericsson MD110, Avaya,
Ultra, Zultys ICC, (brief UI management & install)
Selected Achievements
• Restored the MMS service after a complete failure between TMUK, o2, Orange, 3UK and
Vodafone. This was resolved by replacing the routing order in the “configure” file of Exim on the
MTA (Mail Transfer Agent). The problem was found and solved within thirty minutes.
• Merged DNS solution for Orange and T-Mobile. Moving us a step closer to a complete merge.
This involved me creating a new set of DNS servers and migrating Orange traffic to it. Currently
my platforms support all of the operators mentioned above for Roaming, Customer and APN
DNS.
• Implemented a DNS Domain for a 3gppnetwork for EE. This was a great step forward for us into
4G roaming capability enabling us to roll out 4G, in a race before all our competitors. A massive
job with great team work. This 4G network is still currently the biggest and best in the UK.
• Turning a failing call centre into a maintenance free environment, by securing a deal with 24x7
support engineer and separating work between servers so they could operate more efficiently,
ensured day to day backups and put numerous fail safe's into action so the call centre would
never be down for more than 2hrs at worst case scenario.

Telephony MD110 and PBX Engineer T-Mobile (UK) March 08 – June 08
During a one month rolling contract with T-Mobile I have been bought on board to help with day to day
running of the Telephony help-desk, as this team was undergoing big changes in management and
employers. I was bought in by a company called Phoenix to learn how the telephony help-desk work
here, so in a worst case scenario if all the other employees left I would know how to take over and run
the help-desk smoothly. Fortunately all the employees are happy with the new changes and are all
staying on.
My day to day duties would include;
• Ericsson MD110 maintenance
• PBX maintenance, PBX connections (jumping), PBX testing (testing equipment pairs)
• Supporting 2000+ users on the Ericsson system and 300+ on the Avaya system
• AV equipment, Setting up and maintenance (projectors, big screens, sound systems)
• Patching and patch auditing
Field Engineer (Ultima Business Solutions) September 07 – Feb 08
I joined Ultima in September 07 my job would involve working for many different companies Such as;
• I-Vu a media advertising company, installing hardware around the country.
• Healthpoint Technologies, supporting HealthCheck machines around the country
• Areoflex, supporting internal users
• Enterprise Rent a car, supporting internal users
• BMW, supporting internal users
• GE, supporting internal users
• Argos, renewing all POS equipment, including servers and back office equipment. Including
working in Home Retail Groups head office in Milton Keynes.
Maintenance and support Engineer (Telefocus LTD) September 06 – Aug 07
I joined Telefocus in September, they are a small company with only one call centre and 10 Office's and
are based in Flitwick Bedfordshire. I was employed to maintain and develop a medium sized call centre,
when entering my role I assessed all workings of the call centre and started noting what could be
changed and the benefit of changing that situation.
After my work the call centre was basically maintenance free, which meant the company would have
been losing money to keep me on therefore I was made redundant. My main duties would include,
• Microsoft Server maintenance (including building servers and domains)
• Make sure ISO9001 standards were followed
• Creating a maintenance free environment for agents and back office staff
• Agent back office and client support
• Installation of networking equipment from router to floor ports (Network Architecture)
• Network configuration DNS,DHCP,WINS and TCP/IP (v4 and v6)
• Identifying Problems and creating solutions
• IT support for Finance (Sage installs and maintenance)
• Exchange configuration and support
• PBX admin support for IC Zultys system
• 1st
line for hosted Ultra service
• Supporting a new disaster recovery plan that I put in place ensuring procedures were followed
(backups using Arcserve, Brightstor. Antivirus using Sophos)
Infrastructure Engineer (CSC) March 03- September 06
March 2003 I have been promoted to internal infrastructure engineer. My main responsibilities are
insuring that there is a stable and reliable infrastructure for CSC third most important site in Europe.
My duties would include;
• ISO9000 standards as the CSC Luton office is an ITIL environment
• Rack supporting, Server building, Networking, patching, Optimizing P.C performance, telephony,
meridian supporting, symposium setup configuration and support. Here I have also learnt a
great deal of symposium and Call pilot knowledge including scripting and a small amount of VB
scripting.
• A wide range of Microsoft and computer associates’ software knowledge and Lotus notes 5.08
and 6.5.2 including the designer client including all aspects of setup and configuration.
• I have shown great skills in trouble shooting, finding fixes or a work-around. As the environment
would need problems fixed immediately. This has also taught me how minimize revenue loss
whilst dealing with a major problem.
• I have set everything on our network including setting security, setting policies; created user’s
and corrected corrupt profiles. I was also in charge of changing the registry files so we could
open up and lock down certain parts of our build.
• I have modified SOE base builds and packaged applications to suit our needs
• In this position I have dealt with mainly Cisco Catalyst systems and Cisco 1750 & 2950 switches,
I have learned configuration setup and maintained all these.
• Supporting applications such as SAP, VPN, Lotus (novell and Cisco)
• Have handled asset management and I have built servers, and I have de-commissioned stock
following procedures and sticking to guidelines.
• Ensuring that all SLAs were achieved and if not reporting the reasons as to why.
BHS first-line support and Field services (CSC) September 02- March 03
In September 2002 I started work for CSC on the BHS account, dealing with networking issues,
hardware problems and software questions. I have an extensive knowledge of NT4, XP, 2000
(normal/home and pro).Which helped me advice users in the store. I have been using programs such as
Pc anywhere remotely possible and active desktop, this was to remotely resolve problems that could
not be fixed via the phone, and also for very important server checks. Here I gained a very good
understanding of I.P address protocol and a very good understanding of the networking. I also learnt
how to write Batch files, and where and when they would help.
Also I have supported the shop floor installing POS tills and repairing them, I was also involved in
moving BHS from NT4 to 2003. This happened in every single BHS store although I only worked on
three of them. This is where I started to learn my networking and communication patching skills.
