Expan – A Unit of Freight Net Private Limited; August 2014 till August 2015; Chief Strategist & GM (South)
Joined purely to assist CMD as a friend, initially as a Chief Strategist at Delhi Corporate Office & later at Chennai
couple of months later, October 23rd 2014 to be precise, to organise my daughter's marriage, as General Manager -
South. 9 months in the role, when could not do much, except streamlining the Admin and HR side of the region,
resulting from severe funds limitation, took a call to move forward further in line with my integrity and beliefs.
During the time designed and handled complete movements (both Air & Surface), including the last mile delivery, for
E-Com retail majors like Snapdeal, Shopclues & Amazon to a limited extent at Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi and entire
South with performance at 90%.

I have been mandated to build an organisation and to drive at cultural transformation from one of individual
entrepreneur governed organisation to a professional organisation where planned succession can be brought in for
continuity and growth.
On the ground, learning by handling the operations of this segment of transportation where customers are limited (7
across India) and contributions from each are big. With Maruti having 56% of the share and located in Gurgaon /
Manesar and all others located around West & South, it is a logistics challenge to optimise fleet placements and
movements. Fleets in this trade are self-owned and not brokered with Total Fleet Numbers = 159.
Apart from that I had built strong relationships with the clients, as sales and marketing are more critically relationship
governed in this segment with Volvo Cars account Kochi being handled directly by me.
Goes without saying, I was also focused on top and bottom line operationally and commercially.
We were also strongly ERP governed and had plans to upgrade to a newer version with lot of new features and
applicability to all stations right from the start of the fleet placement requisition of the client till billing with CRM
interface. We were also using Tally ERP 9 as a centrally governed application till ERP solution stabilised and proved
itself on the ground across the company at all its locations.
AGS World Transport (India) Private Limited; 2010 - 2011; Regional Manager – South
Entrusted with the responsibility for building the logistics network and the organization in the South.
AGS is a NVOCC (Non vessel owning common carriers) and is into LCL shipping consolidation both for Imports and
Exports primarily within its own offices in Australia, Far East Asia, China, Middle East and India. AGS Chennai net profit
contribution was approximately 15% for exports and 21% for imports.
Between Jan 2010 and June 2011, the export volumes have moved from about 20 TEU’s to 43 TEU’s while import
volumes had moved from about 23 TEU’s to 33 TEU’s.
The Profits at the location during the period had moved from about USD13000 per month to USD25000 per month.
