SC REFUSES TO ENTERTAIN PIL OVER
INAUGURATION OF NEW PARLIAMENT
BJP National President JP Nadda said on Friday,
“What connects most parties which are boycotting
the inauguration of new Parl building? The answer is
simple - they are dynasty run political parties, whose
monarchic methods are at loggerheads with the prin-
ciples of republicanism and democracy in our Consti-
tution. These dynastic parties, particularly Cong and
Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, are unable to digest a simple
fact that the people of India have placed their faith in
a man hailing from a humble background.”
The Supreme Court on Friday refused to entertain a
PIL seeking a direction to the Lok Sabha Secretariat
for inauguration of the new Par-
liament building by President

is often said that the best leaders
are not necessarily the ones who
do great themselves but who
have the ability to get the best
out of others! More than other
sports this is applicable for
cricket where the art of captain-
cy matters a lot, especially in
T20 games. In Test cricket or in
ODIs, the game is much slower
and there’s time for even the
coach to pass on information.
But in the frenetic pace of high-
pressure tournaments like IPL,
the captain plays a critical role
and takes all major decisions
himself. Though the evolution
of T20s has brought with it a
great deal of emphasis on data,
planning and match-ups, the
ability to think on your feet is
still the key non-negotiable. As
IPL-2023 moves to its grand fi-
nale, it’s worth underlining that
it’s the top captains who seem to
take their sides to IPL glory
.
CSK’S SUCCESS
DUE TO MS DHONI
No team has been as successful
in IPL history as Chennai Super
Kings and much of that success
is due to MS Dhoni. Chennai is
the first team to be in this sea-
son’s final and this is the 12th
time that they have qualified for
the playoffs in 14 attempts. On
Sunday, it will be Dhoni’s 10th
final leading Chennai and if
they win, that will be the 5th ti-
tle in their cabinet.
Dhoni has always talked
about focussing on process rath-
er than doing anything out of
the ordinary
. Even against Guja-
rat Titans in the first Qualifier,
it was clear that each batter had
a specific role to play in setting
up a stiff target. This is the spe-
cialty of the Chennai side that
they give clear responsibilities
to their players and then back
them full tilt. It is one of the rea-
sons why many players who are
abandoned by other franchises,
dowellatChennai–likeAjinkya
Rahane this season.
Moreover, what
makes Dhoni an ex-
ceptional skipper is
that he is always
aware of the match
situation and
pulled one out of
his cap yet again
when he spent time
arguing with the um-
pires in the match ver-
sus Gujarat which ena-
bled his vital pacer,
Matheesha Pathirana,
serving time being out
of the field earlier, to
come and bowl in the
death overs. Most ex-
perts agree that
Dhoni is the best
captain in T20 crick-
et currently and can
surely grab another title
for CSK.
ROHIT SHARMA
MARSHALLING MI
Then it’s Rohit Sharma mar-
shalling the Mumbai Indians
who are gunning for their 6th
title. Between Dhoni and Rohit,
they have 9 out of the total 15
IPL titles. It’s no wonder that
after Virat quit captaincy, Rohit
was made the Indian captain for
all formats. His tactical ma-
noeuvres plus his calm ap-
proach have become his
strengths. Against Lucknow in
the Eliminator, he was instru-
mental in selecting Akash Mad-
hwal who picked up 5 wickets
for 5 runs on the night winning
the game easily for Mumbai.
ButRohitisstillanunderrated
captain-comparedtothelikesof
Dhoni or Virat Koh-
li. This opinion was
also highlighted by
Indian legend,
Sunil Gavaskar as
he talked about
how Rohit has not
got his due even
after winning 5 IPL
championships.
Gavaskar pointed
outthatRohit’sdeci-
sion to bring Nehal
Wadhera as an ‘im-
pact player’ in the
first innings
which eventually
worked well for
Mumbai. Per-
haps another
IPL win will
propel him to be
talked of in the
same breath as Dhoni!
GUJARAT’S MOST
SUCCESSFUL PANDYA
The youngest among skippers in
IPL 2023 is Gujarat Titans cap-
tain Hardik Pandya who statisti-
cally has become the most suc-
cessful captain in IPL history.
Besides leading his team to title
triumph in its debut season last
year, Hardik has the highest win
percentage among players who
have captained a minimum of 20
matches in the IPL. He tops the
list with an over 70% win record
as Gujarat captain. While his re-
cord speaks for itself, the crucial
feature of Hardik’s captaincy is
the sense of comfort he displays
with his team. Most cricket ex-
perts are deeply impressed with
Pandya’s captaincy and believe
he can stake claim for Team In-
dia leadership even in one-day-
ers after the ODI World Cup this
year. While defending IPL
crowns is never easy, not many
will be surprised if Pandya leads
his team to triumph in IPL 2023.
CONFUSED LEADERSHIP
Teams that have fared poorly like
Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hy-
derabad are clear examples of
confused leadership lacking clar-
ity on how best to use their re-
sources. In a fast-paced T20 game,
captaincy remains the key to suc-
cess. As IPL 2023 ends this week-
end, it may well be that the best
captain on the night of the final

NEW PARLIAMENT INAUGURATION ROW
We are not Cong’s slaves,
says JD(S) in Karnataka
Bengaluru: Former
Karnataka Chief Min-
ister and JD(S) leader
HD Kumaraswamy on
Friday came down
heavily on the Congress
for “politicising” the in-
auguration of a new
Parliament building.
“We are not slaves of
the Congress. We take
our own decisions,” he
asserted.
Reacting to Congress
questioning former
Prime Minister HD
Deve Gowda’s decision
to attend the event, he
quipped, “Why do we
need to follow Con-
gress? When Congress
chose Yashwant Sinha
as the presidential can-
didate, had it forgotten
that Droupadi Murmu
hailed from Adivasi
background?” Kumar-
aswamy charged.
Congress is “doing
politics” in the matter
of inauguration of the
new Parliament build-
ing. The party is talking
as per its convenience.
It is shedding crocodile
tears on President
Droupadi Murmu not
being invited to inaugu-
rate the new Parliament
building. If this was the
case, why did it choose
Yashwant Sinha over
her? he questioned.
As many as 21 politi-

support the inauguration of the new Parliament building
by PM Narendra Modi on May 28. The new Parliament
has been built by the Centre in record time, which is a
reflection of India’s development. SKM congratulates PM
Modi for this achievement.”

roy Lord Irwin. On May 28, when PM Narendra Modi will

MARITAL BLUES
he simple life of
coming home af-
terworkandspend-
ing time with your
family seems impos-
sible now, as work
emails and phone calls
come in and marriage gets put
on the back burner,” says a wife.
“Your partner is usually the
first one you neglect because
you think, she’ll understand.
She will forgive me. I can spend
time with her later,” says a hus-
band. Technology can blur the
line between a job and mar-
riage. The employer, work-
mates or clients might expect
one to be available 24/7, mak-
ing it difficult to achieve a
work-life balance.
Each call, email or text one
receives off-hours can lead to
what seems like a fire that needs
to be put out immediately. The
balance can be achieved by cre-
ating a reasonable separation
and prioritizing between one’s
job and other aspects of life, in-
cluding marriage.
Some companies feel that be-
cause they pay, they can reach
you whenever they need you.
“Recognizing that my family
needs me, I tell them I’m not
available on my days off. At
times, it is best to decline or del-
egate some of your work,” ex-
presses one husband.
When couples earn two in-
comes, it can produce stress and
strain. It is wise to count the
cost – financially, emotionally
and physically. One of the cold
facts of life is that it costs mon-
ey to earn money – transporta-
tion, clothing and miscellane-
ous expenses.
Many wives can juggle a job
and home duties; her doing so,
nevertheless, entails tradeoffs
and costs. A working wife sim-
ply may not have the time or
energy to devote to the house or
to prepare tasty meals.
Marital strain is another
work expense. Wives often re-
sent having to bear an unfair
share of the housework. Hus-
bands may likewise resent be-
ing asked to help. Some even
complain, as did one husband.
“I feel left out. She comes home
tired and upset. She’s always
busy
. I appreciate what she does,
but fatigue doesn’t make me feel
any happier about it.”
Some men are moved to help
when they realize that there is
a need while others become
quite depressed or critical,
grumbling that their wives have
become too independent or that
their home is neglected.
Not all working couples have
a grandmother or a friend to
take care of their children. Par-
ents can accomplish much by
way of training their children
if they are there for them.
The biggest source of stress
among working women is guilt
over not doing enough – of not
being as
good a wife
and mother
as their
mother was.
A wife, after
quitting her job,
says, “I have
stopped saying,
no, not this after-
noon, I have to work
or no, not now, I am
too tired. Having
t i m e
for my-
self and
my fami-
ly is worth
more than a
paycheque.”
Of course,
not all wives
can quit their
jobs. And some
even say they feel
bored or unfulfilled
if they had to be at
home all day. Said one
working wife, “I need
more in my life than just
cooking.”
Some imaginative wom-
en are starting business en-
terprises. And others are do-
ing part-time work that ena-
bles them to arrange various
responsibilities easily with less
time pressure and tension.
To balance one’s work with
home life, one needs to take the
initiative. If a plan is not there,
one’s job is most likely to in-
trude into one’s marriage.
When the workload is heavy,
that is the time when one needs
to create time for one’s partner.
A wife who faces office dead-
lines says, “Usually when eve-
rything hits at once, I and my
partner agree on a time – a din-
ner or a walk, to have some time
together.”
Some feel obligated to stay
connected just in case the boss
or a client needs them. But oth-
ers turn off notifications on
their phone to stop work at a
set time.
A couple said, “Keeping our
life simple has been a great help
towards keeping things in bal-
ance since there are not many
things vying for our time.”
Realistically, work may occa-
sionally intrude in
marriage. One
can allow for
exceptions.

the media outlet that the magnificent rock
could be worth an estimated $1 million.
Stone revealed that the ring featured a
9-carat pear-cut diamond. He also shared
that the ‘non-traditional cut’ had its
own interesting symbolism. The jewel-
lery expert stated that pear-cut stones
are “believed to symbolize the em-
powerment and independence of the
wearer,” before adding that the “cut
is the perfect choice for a global su-
perstar like Rihanna.” The singer-su-
perstar donned this valuable gem on a
night out ahead of the 2023 MET Gala
when she opted for a feathered black and
white outfit.

Dipika Kakar was
asked about how she is
feeling about having so
much happiness coming
in her life right now, and
she replied with so ele-
gance and gratitude,
“Bhot zayda gratitude
hai Ashish, honestly
. Be-
cause this is priceless
(putting hands on her
baby bump while talk-
ing) ek aisi cheez hai
chahiye aap as a lady ya
as a couple bolo haar
cheez mein apki life ka
stage hai jiska aap inte-
zaar karte ho. The most
beautiful part is when
you’re prepared and
waiting for this phase.
Toh muje aisa lgta hai
and issiliye yeh bhot
priceless hai. To have an
entire phase according
to your ease is a blessing
and yes it was a dream
to have a big house and
have those luxuries. Jab
aap apni life aap na plan
karo aur upar wala plan
kare toh voh itni khub-
surti se plan hoti hai na
ki aap usse accept karne
mein bhi aapko lage ki
aacha yeh sach mein ho
rha hai.”
They spoke about the
difficult phase of their
life, how they overcome
their difficulties, and
their journey from be-
ing friends to lovers.
The journey was adven-
turous and helped each
other through difficult
times. As we all know

a lot. She gets emotional
thinking about this
phase of her life every
time. The reason they
are so strong together is
that they were in the
most difficult phase
when they met each oth-
er, and because of their
friendship, their bond
got so strong. She added,
“If he hadn’t been there
I don’t know aaj mein
kis situation mein hoti.
Mein bhot difficult
phase mein thi I wasn’t
myself, I was lost. Agar
Shoaib meri life mein
nhi aate toh I don’t know
mein iss waqt kaha hoti
aur kya kar rahi hoti,
thik hoti bhi kin hi I
have no clue. So meet-
ing him, him coming in
my life is like starting
fresh.
Shoaib talked about
how Dipika helped him
during the difficult
phase when his father
faced a brain hemor-
rhage. The flight was
not available till morn-
ing so Dipika called him
at her place and she
stayed up all night con-
soling him, spoke to the
doctors took all the up-
dates. He said that he
shows that he is strong
but when it comes to his
family he is weak, he
can’t stand looking at
his family in problem.
They are way thank-
ful for the love and bless-
ings they are getting
from their fans and for
trollers a little message
that they haven’t lived
their life and can’t judge
them through their seri-
als and vlogs but still,
they can’t say anything
because they are a pub-
lic figure and freedom
of speech is only for the

  • 4. is often said that the best leaders are not necessarily the ones who do great themselves but who have the ability to get the best out of others! More than other sports this is applicable for cricket where the art of captain- cy matters a lot, especially in T20 games. In Test cricket or in ODIs, the game is much slower and there’s time for even the coach to pass on information. But in the frenetic pace of high- pressure tournaments like IPL, the captain plays a critical role and takes all major decisions himself. Though the evolution of T20s has brought with it a great deal of emphasis on data, planning and match-ups, the ability to think on your feet is still the key non-negotiable. As IPL-2023 moves to its grand fi- nale, it’s worth underlining that it’s the top captains who seem to take their sides to IPL glory . CSK’S SUCCESS DUE TO MS DHONI No team has been as successful in IPL history as Chennai Super Kings and much of that success is due to MS Dhoni. Chennai is the first team to be in this sea- son’s final and this is the 12th time that they have qualified for the playoffs in 14 attempts. On Sunday, it will be Dhoni’s 10th final leading Chennai and if they win, that will be the 5th ti- tle in their cabinet. Dhoni has always talked about focussing on process rath- er than doing anything out of the ordinary . Even against Guja- rat Titans in the first Qualifier, it was clear that each batter had a specific role to play in setting up a stiff target. This is the spe- cialty of the Chennai side that they give clear responsibilities to their players and then back them full tilt. It is one of the rea- sons why many players who are abandoned by other franchises, dowellatChennai–likeAjinkya Rahane this season. Moreover, what makes Dhoni an ex- ceptional skipper is that he is always aware of the match situation and pulled one out of his cap yet again when he spent time arguing with the um- pires in the match ver- sus Gujarat which ena- bled his vital pacer, Matheesha Pathirana, serving time being out of the field earlier, to come and bowl in the death overs. Most ex- perts agree that Dhoni is the best captain in T20 crick- et currently and can surely grab another title for CSK. ROHIT SHARMA MARSHALLING MI Then it’s Rohit Sharma mar- shalling the Mumbai Indians who are gunning for their 6th title. Between Dhoni and Rohit, they have 9 out of the total 15 IPL titles. It’s no wonder that after Virat quit captaincy, Rohit was made the Indian captain for all formats. His tactical ma- noeuvres plus his calm ap- proach have become his strengths. Against Lucknow in the Eliminator, he was instru- mental in selecting Akash Mad- hwal who picked up 5 wickets for 5 runs on the night winning the game easily for Mumbai. ButRohitisstillanunderrated captain-comparedtothelikesof Dhoni or Virat Koh- li. This opinion was also highlighted by Indian legend, Sunil Gavaskar as he talked about how Rohit has not got his due even after winning 5 IPL championships. Gavaskar pointed outthatRohit’sdeci- sion to bring Nehal Wadhera as an ‘im- pact player’ in the first innings which eventually worked well for Mumbai. Per- haps another IPL win will propel him to be talked of in the same breath as Dhoni! GUJARAT’S MOST SUCCESSFUL PANDYA The youngest among skippers in IPL 2023 is Gujarat Titans cap- tain Hardik Pandya who statisti- cally has become the most suc- cessful captain in IPL history. Besides leading his team to title triumph in its debut season last year, Hardik has the highest win percentage among players who have captained a minimum of 20 matches in the IPL. He tops the list with an over 70% win record as Gujarat captain. While his re- cord speaks for itself, the crucial feature of Hardik’s captaincy is the sense of comfort he displays with his team. Most cricket ex- perts are deeply impressed with Pandya’s captaincy and believe he can stake claim for Team In- dia leadership even in one-day- ers after the ODI World Cup this year. While defending IPL crowns is never easy, not many will be surprised if Pandya leads his team to triumph in IPL 2023. CONFUSED LEADERSHIP Teams that have fared poorly like Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hy- derabad are clear examples of confused leadership lacking clar- ity on how best to use their re- sources. In a fast-paced T20 game, captaincy remains the key to suc- cess. As IPL 2023 ends this week- end, it may well be that the best captain on the night of the final liftsthetrophy .Butirrespectiveof who grabs the glory , it’ll ultimate- ly be a win for Indian cricket! THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL Teams that have fared poorly like Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are clear examples of confused leadership lacking clarity on how best to use their resources. In a fast-paced T20 game, captaincy remains the key to success. As IPL 2023 ends this weekend, it may well be that the best captain on the night of the final lifts the trophy. MARITAL BLUES he simple life of coming home af- terworkandspend- ing time with your family seems impos- sible now, as work emails and phone calls come in and marriage gets put on the back burner,” says a wife. “Your partner is usually the first one you neglect because you think, she’ll understand. She will forgive me. I can spend time with her later,” says a hus- band. Technology can blur the line between a job and mar- riage. The employer, work- mates or clients might expect one to be available 24/7, mak- ing it difficult to achieve a work-life balance. Each call, email or text one receives off-hours can lead to what seems like a fire that needs to be put out immediately. The balance can be achieved by cre- ating a reasonable separation and prioritizing between one’s job and other aspects of life, in- cluding marriage. Some companies feel that be- cause they pay, they can reach you whenever they need you. “Recognizing that my family needs me, I tell them I’m not available on my days off. At times, it is best to decline or del- egate some of your work,” ex- presses one husband. When couples earn two in- comes, it can produce stress and strain. It is wise to count the cost – financially, emotionally and physically. One of the cold facts of life is that it costs mon- ey to earn money – transporta- tion, clothing and miscellane- ous expenses. Many wives can juggle a job and home duties; her doing so, nevertheless, entails tradeoffs and costs. A working wife sim- ply may not have the time or energy to devote to the house or to prepare tasty meals. Marital strain is another work expense. Wives often re- sent having to bear an unfair share of the housework. Hus- bands may likewise resent be- ing asked to help. Some even complain, as did one husband. “I feel left out. She comes home tired and upset. She’s always busy . I appreciate what she does, but fatigue doesn’t make me feel any happier about it.” Some men are moved to help when they realize that there is a need while others become quite depressed or critical, grumbling that their wives have become too independent or that their home is neglected. Not all working couples have a grandmother or a friend to take care of their children. Par- ents can accomplish much by way of training their children if they are there for them. The biggest source of stress among working women is guilt over not doing enough – of not being as good a wife and mother as their mother was. A wife, after quitting her job, says, “I have stopped saying, no, not this after- noon, I have to work or no, not now, I am too tired. Having t i m e for my- self and my fami- ly is worth more than a paycheque.” Of course, not all wives can quit their jobs. And some even say they feel bored or unfulfilled if they had to be at home all day. Said one working wife, “I need more in my life than just cooking.” Some imaginative wom- en are starting business en- terprises. And others are do- ing part-time work that ena- bles them to arrange various responsibilities easily with less time pressure and tension. To balance one’s work with home life, one needs to take the initiative. If a plan is not there, one’s job is most likely to in- trude into one’s marriage. When the workload is heavy, that is the time when one needs to create time for one’s partner. A wife who faces office dead- lines says, “Usually when eve- rything hits at once, I and my partner agree on a time – a din- ner or a walk, to have some time together.” Some feel obligated to stay connected just in case the boss or a client needs them. But oth- ers turn off notifications on their phone to stop work at a set time. A couple said, “Keeping our life simple has been a great help towards keeping things in bal- ance since there are not many things vying for our time.” Realistically, work may occa- sionally intrude in marriage. One can allow for exceptions. P e r h a p s , the nature of work requires that he or she be avail- able after o f f i c e hours. Part- ners can avoid being overly demand- ing and be more considerate of each other’s work- load.
