eanwhile, prior to Sonia’s address, Rajasthan
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that during
the time of UPA government, care was taken

Sisodia slams BJP’s ‘bulldozer politics’,
requests Amit Shah to stop demolition
New Delhi (PTI): Delhi
Deputy Chief Minister
Manish Sisodia on Fri-
day wrote to union
home minister Amit
Shah against what the
Aam Aadmi Party
called the “BJP's unjus-
tified ‘bulldozer poli-
tics”.
In his letter, the AAP
leader urged Shah to
“immediately inter-
vene in the matter”.
His letter comes just
a day after the city saw
bulldozers rolling out
in several parts.
AAP leader and
Okhla MLA
Amanatullah Khan was
arrested amid protests
in south Delhi on
Thursday
.
In his letter, Sisodia
said that the anti-en-
croachment drive was
“dangerous” for the na-
tional capital.
He further asked the
home minister to “tell
BJP leaders not to do
dangerous politics” in
the “name of bulldozer
drive”.
Sisodia further ques-
tioned the BJP in the
letter: “Why did they al-
low illegal construction
in the national capital?”
“Before running bull-
dozers on the houses of
‘Aam Janata’ (common
people), the demolition
drives should be con-
ducted on those BJP
leaders who had let the
illegal construction
take place,” he wrote.
In a tweet, he wrote:
“BJP's MCD has made a
plan to demolish 60 lakh
houses in Delhi. This
will be the biggest dev-
astation across the
country, there will be
outcry everywhere. In
this way
, bulldozers will
run over 70 per cent of
Delhi's population.”
Delhi saw an anti-en-
croachment drive in
several parts this
week. The civic body’s
action against the ille-
gal encroachment be-
gan in the national
capital in several areas
on Thursday, including
Dwarka, Janakpuri,
New Friends Colony,
Rohini, Chaukhandi,
and other surrounding
areas.
SHOPS IN JAMIA NAGAR, SHAHEEN BAGH DOWN
SHUTTERS TO PROTEST AMANATULLAH KHAN’S ARREST
New Delhi (PTI): Markets in Delhi's Jamia Nagar and Shaheen Bagh wore
a deserted look on Friday as a majority of shops downed their shutters to
protest the wrongful arrest of local
AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan after
a demonstration against an anti-
encroachment drive. The AAP leader
and five other people were arrested
on charges of rioting and obstructing
public servants in discharge of their
duty on Thursday. Speaking with PTI
on Friday, municipal councillor Abdul
Wajid Khan said all markets in the area are closed. We are protesting against
the arrest of Amanatullah Khan, and people of the area have also kept their
shops closed in a show of solidarity, he said.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
AAP THREATENS
TO BULLDOZE
ADESH GUPTA’S
OFFICE AND HOME
The Aam Aadmi
Party has threatened
to bulldoze the office and
home of the BJP’s Delhi
president, Adesh Gupta,
on Saturday, alleging that
the municipal corpora-
tions are demolishing
homes of only the poor
and turning a blind eye
to the “illegal construc-
tion” by BJP councillors
and leaders.AAP senior
leader and MCD in-charge
Durgesh Pathak on Friday
asked why there was no
action against the alleged
encroachments by BJP
leaders and officials.
Pathak had written an
official complaint to the
MCD mayor and commis-
sioner to “investigate the
encroachment”.
Panel to overcome
shortage of land for
plantation: Rai
New Delhi (PTI): Delhi
Environment Minister
Gopal Rai on Friday
said the city govern-
ment will set up a
nine-member commit-
tee to suggest alterna-
tives to overcome short-
age of land for tree
plantation in the na-
tional capital.
The minister made
the announcement
while rejecting a re-
quest by the Delhi
Development Authority
to revise the
guidelines for the num-
ber of trees to be plant-
ed under the compensa-
tory plantation scheme
from 10 saplings to two
for every tree that is cut.
“The DDA wrote to
the Delhi forest de-
partment saying they
do not have land for
compensatory planta-
tion. They have re-
quested us to make
changes in the guide-
lines. We are rejecting
the request consider-
ing the status of the
environment in Del-
hi,” he said.
Instead, the govern-
ment will ask the DDA
to inform how much
land is available for
plantation in the capi-
tal. The government
has also decided to set
up a nine-member
“Green Cover Develop-
ment Committee” to
suggest alternatives to
overcome shortage of
land for tree plantation,
Rai said.
Court slams police over rape in hotel
New Delhi (PTI): A Del-
hi court said that the
Delhi police was bent on
prosecuting a hotel own-
er for a rape that took
place inside the hotel
more than the actual cul-
prit and said that case
“poses a serious question
on the functioning of po-
lice”.
After a woman said
that she was raped inside
a hotel in Delhi, local po-
lice arrested the accused
and the hotel owner. The
police said that a similar
offence had taken place
in the same hotel, the es-
tablishment did not have
proper documents for op-
erating 20 rooms, and
hence, the hotel was be-
ing used for similar pur-
poses. On May 4, Addi-
tional Sessions Judge
Sushil Kumar Tyagi
noted with “anguish and
displeasure, that the po-
lice authority has in-
voked such serious and
draconian provisions”
under sections of rape
and criminal conspiracy,
among other IPC sec-
tions, which prescribes
very stringent punish-
ment against the hotel
owner. The judge also
asked the Delhi police
commissioner to take
necessary action.
It said that just be-
cause the hotel staff did
not verify the identity of
the survivor, it does not
make the hotel owner a
facilitator.
New Delhi (Agen-
cies): With the start of
school summer vaca-
tions in Delhi, the ser-
vices of roughly 22,000
guest teachers have
been discontinued for
the duration of the hol-
idays, an annual prac-
tice which has been op-
posed by the guest
teachers’ association.
Since guest teachers
working at Delhi’s gov-
ernment schools are

their services are dis-
continued at the start
of the nearly two-
month-long summer

services were discon-

heads of schools have
been authorised to en-
gage them for works re-
lated to examinations
and admissions, accord-
ing to the administra-
tive needs of the school,
officials with the de-
partment said.

New Delhi: In his pres-
entation to the Con-
gress party, election
strategist Prashant
Kishor had remained
silent on the issue of
presenting a leader or
face from the opposi-
tion. His emphasis was
on the fact that the op-
position should create
a narrative and keep
that narrative running
continuously. By doing
this, even without a
face, BJP and Narendra
Modi can be chal-
lenged. This part of his
advice is right that the
opposition should cre-
ate a narrative and
keep it running, but af-
ter that the face will be
formed automatically,
this aspect doesnt seem
to be right. Along with
making the narrative,
the opposition and es-
pecially the Congress
will also have to pre-
sent a face. That is why
the Chintan Shivir of
Udaipur is important,
in which the Congress
party declares Rahul
Gandhi as the leader.
Anyway, whether
Congress declares it or
not, BJP has made Nar-
endra Modi fight
against Rahul Gandhi.
That’s when in every
poll or in every debate,
Rahul is projected
against Modi. Whenev-
er there is a survey on
the functioning of the
Modi government or a
survey of the populari-
ty of leaders, only Ra-
hul is kept in compari-
son to Modi. Propagan-
da is made by the BJP
that as long as Rahul is
there, Modi wont face
any difficulty. In social
media, jokes are circu-
lated stressing Rahul to
be the biggest asset for
the BJP.
Right now BJP has
chosen Rahul Gandhi
knowing him to be a
weak wrestler from
Congress’ side. Now is
the time for Congress
to go ahead and chal-
lenge on its own behalf
and announce the con-
test between Rahul and
Modi. Remember how
Narendra Modi fought
and got his name
stamped from BJP?
Udaipur’s Chintan Shi-
vir is a Goa moment for
Congress and Rahul.
Just as Narendra Modi
became the President
of BJP’s election cam-
paign committee in
2013 Goa session de-
spite opposition from
LK Advani and other
leaders of his camp
and then became the
prime ministerial can-
didate, so the Congress
needs Rahul Gandhi to
be the party president
and declare him to be
the prime ministerial
candidate.
Rahul Gandhi keeps
saying that he does not
want power, but it will
not help the Congress.
It will be good for the
Congress when they
walk their side and
challenge. The BJP has
already made him a
contender, so there is
no problem in becom-
ing a claimant from
Congress’ side. If there
is courage, commit-
ment to its agenda, con-
fidence in the strength
of the organization,
then Congress should
announce Rahul as
their leader in the par-
ty and contest election
under him as the PM
candidate. Modi had
the courage to get his
name announced, con-
test the election and is
ruling today. Rahul and
Congress also have to
show the same courage.
CONGRESS NEEDS TO HOLD THE BULL BY THE HORNS!

Delhi to be 5° C warmer in 2080-99: Greenpeace India
New Delhi (PTI): Delhi
and Mumbai’s mean an-
nual temperature will
be 5° Celsius higher in
the 2080-99 period as
compared to the 1995-
2014periodif globalCO2
emissions double by
2050, according to
Greenpeace India’s new
heatwave projections
based on Intergovern-
mental Panel for Cli-
mate Change’s sixth as-
sessment report.
The national capi-
tal’s annual maximum
temperature (the me-
dian of June month
record from 1995 to
2014) stands at 41.93°
Celsius. It will leap to
45.97° Celsius in the
2080-99 period and can
go up to 48.19° Celsius
in “some extreme
years”, the NGO said.
A recent heatwave in
Delhi saw the maxi-
mumtouching43.5° Cel-
sius on April 29, which
is well above the aver-
agemaximumtempera-
ture for the month. An
analysis of the histori-
cal daily temperature
for April from 1970 to
2020 shows that only
four years have record-
ed a value higher than
43° Celsius.
Mumbai’s mean an-
nual temperature will
be 5° Celsius higher in
the 2080-99 period as
compared to the 1995-
2014 period and the an-
nual maximum tem-
perature will increase
from 39.17° Celsius at
present to 43.35° Celsi-
us.
Chennai will be 4°
Celsius warmer than
now on average with a
projected mean annual
temperature of 31° Cel-
sius. Its annual maxi-
mum temperature will
increase from 35.13 at
present to 38.78 ° Celsi-
us in the 2080-99 period.
Such a drastic and
rapid increase in tem-
perature will mean In-
dia will experience
more unprecedented
and prolonged heat-
waves, extreme weath-
ers, increased hospi-
talisations and irrepa-
rable damage to agri-
culture and wildlife
risking food and nutri-
tional security, Green-
peace India said.
“Heatwaves are fatal
for public health and
the economy. It also
puts ecosystems at
risk. We have enough
science to link such ex-
treme weather events
to climate change. Un-
fortunately, if we do
not act now, the threat
is only going to in-
crease in frequency,
duration and magni-
tude, said Avinash
Chanchal, Campaign
Manager, Greenpeace
India.
Inland cities are at a
higher risk of heat-
waves in the absence of
regulation by oceans
and a higher tempera-
ture range than coastal
areas. The impaling
temperature rise is ex-
pected to severely im-
pact citizens particu-
larly in cities like Del-
hi, Lucknow, Patna,
Jaipur and Kolkata
which share similar
temperature patterns,
he said.

he Lucknow Bench
of Allahabad High
Court threw out a pe-
tition unlocking 22
sealed rooms of Taj

discourage such frivolous pub-
lic interest litigation in the fu-
ture. Justices DK Upadhyay and
Subhash Vidyarthi wasted no
time in junking the petition
with the observation, “Tomor-
row you will ask for permission
to see our chambers. Please,
don’t make a mockery of the PIL
system.”
Certain forces have been mak-
ing sustained efforts to prove
that Taj Mahal is a temple of
Shiva and call it Tejo Mahalay
and snip its Mughal past. The
recent PIL “to find the truth be-
hind” the locked rooms was one
such attempt. Fortunately, the
high court sharply advised the
petitioner to “do some research
first...do MA, PhD, enroll your-
self somewhere. Don’t make a
mockery of this”.
It is tragic that a set of people
is seeking the conversion of a
mausoleum to a temple. Global-
ly, these moves are viewed as
retrograde and polarizing.
T
aking a strong

vir was to speak freely and
frankly here, but “let only
one message go outside” as
the Congress leader remind-
ed members that it was time
for them to pay back the debt
which they owe to the party.
A better part of Sonia Gan-
dhi’s speech was targeted to-
wards the BJP and Prime
Minister Narendra Modi for
brutalising minorities, “sub-
jugation of institutions and
reinventing history”. Polari-
sation, as Sonia Gandhi said,
has indeed driven minorities
to live in fear.
The party President is So-
nia fully aware of the issues
dogging the party and hinted
about them in her speech.
“Changes in organisation are
the need of the hour, we need
to change the way of our
working,” she said, urging
participants to keep the or-
ganisation above personal
ambitions. It was an obvious
reference to the G23 group of
dissenters who are seeking a
non-Gandhi as the party
leader. They are also demand-
ing “open elections” to the
Congress Working Commit-
tee. This group will be keenly
watching the development.
The brainstorming comes
after a failed attempt to get
poll strategist Prashant
Kishore on board. It is the re-
vival of the Congress and en-
suring unity at all levels is
whatthepartyleadershipwill
be focusing on. Her emphasis
on “meaningful self-intro-

party will have to prepare for
upcomingassemblyelections.

M
esearches have shown that an
average Indian is spending
approximately 5 hours online
everyday
, out of which 30% of
the times they are uploading
content. This fact emphasizes
the era of Web 2.0 where com-
panies (mostly social media
apps) develop and provide
products and services in a
centralized manner.
Google provides content
based on your geography,
which is a testimony to its
design and the fact that they
track everything. Hope you
don’t believe that you own
your IG content! It might be
shocking to you that Face-
book owns everything on the
platform, and they have com-
plete control of all the con-
tent there. So if they want to
ban you or block you, they
will do it instantly
. Moreover,
no Gamer worldwide owns
their in-game assets!
The clash between owner-
ship rights has been going on
for a decade, and the Netflix
documentary “The Social Di-
lemma” highlighted this
very well. Hence the birth of
new alternatives: Web3
which is more democratic,
where the internet or virtual
worlds merge and integrate
into our lives empowering us
to interact seamlessly
.
In my opinion, Web 3.0 is a
concept for the next genera-
tion of the internet. Evolving
users are able to control, own
and monetise their online
content, digital assets and
identities. Their creativity
will have no bounds and con-
nect no limits.
I’m sure you’ve heard of
Bitcoin! It was introduced in
2008 and designed as a pio-
neer in decentralized crypto-
currency and digital payment
system without the need for
central banks or trusted in-
termediaries. All transac-
tions were based on the
Blockchain technology that
was introduced in a white pa-
per as the digital ledger for
managing and certifying the
validity of bitcoin.
Blockchain technology has
enabled users to interact with
online services governed by
peer-to-peer networks. Which
essentially means a decen-
tralized network of comput-
ers instead of the server of a
single entity. In such a set-
ting, users can own their data
and have permissionless
transactions without any in-
terference, along with the full
control of digital identities
and how and when data is
shared or returned to users
through their private keys.
Over the years blockchain
has transcended its original
objectives, and has evolved in
two major directions. On one
hand it continues to focus on
blockchain as the underlying
platform for bitcoin, thereby
becoming a platform for the
large number of cryptocur-
rencies, digital tokens and on
the other hand, it is focused
on the use of blockchain as a
trusted distributed data base
for private and public sector
applications involving multi-
ple institutions, such as sup-
ply chains, financial services
and healthcare.
Over the past few years,
Web 3.0 has been given a
number of delphian descrip-
tions, ranging from ‘the new
age of the internet’ and ‘the
semantic web’. It has left eve-
ryone bewildered and con-
fused to wonder what exactly
is it and how will it work?
Why should business leaders
be thinking about it now?
Let’s take a look at the time-
lines…Web1 was the original
Internet and the World Wide
Web of the 1990s and early
2000s.Itwasprimarilyfocused
on publishing and accessing
information on web pages us-
ing open protocols like HTTP
.
Soon after came Web2 in 2005,
itdefinedthenextphaseof the
Internetbygivingitsusersthe
ability to create and publish
their own content through
blogs, personal websites and
social media platforms like
YouTube,Facebook,andTwit-
ter. However, most of this ac-
tivity became dominated and
monetized by a small number
of global companies.
There are various views
floating around on what Web3
is all about! Some critics view
it as a hype, a rebranding ef-
fort to shed some of the cul-
tural and political baggage of
crypto. And others believe
that it is a dystopian vision of
a pay-to-play internet, in
which every activity and so-
cial interaction will become a
financial instrument - to be
bought and sold. A freedom
that no one has seen before
and will democratize the
whole mindset of using the
Internet. A blockchain based
network that will usher in a
more open, entrepreneurial
Internet and a middleman
free digital economy
.
I think Web3 is here to stay
andwiththepowerof earning
your own dime without any
regulation will make it more
popular over time. So either
we can embrace the change or
be obsolete, there are enough
case studies to prove on how

Giving details of the

span only a few hours,
Foreign Secretary Vi-

“In their bilateral
talks, the two Prime
Minis will pick up from
where they left off in

The leaders are ex-

agreements after the
meeting, although offi-

being finalised.
This is the first visit
to Nepal by Mr. Modi
since the Kalapani-Sus-
ta dispute broke out be-
tween the two countries
in 2020, and Nepal
amended its Constitu-
tion to incorporate a
new map showing parts
of India in its territory
.
Asked whether the is-

issues would be dis-

bilateral mechanisms,
which, he said, were the
“best way forward in
discussing those issues,

India-UAE trade pact to create
huge job ops, boost economy
Mumbai (PTI): The
comprehensive trade
agreement between In-
dia and the UAE will
help in creating huge
job opportunities and
boost growth of the do-
mestic economy, Com-
merce and Industry
Minister Piyush Goyal
said on Friday
.
The bilateral pact, of-
ficially dubbed as the
Comprehensive Eco-
nomic Partnership
Agreement (CEPA) is
expected to increase the
bilateral trade in goods
to over $100 billion and
trade in services to over
$15 billion within five
years. It came into ef-
fect from May 1.
The agreement opens
the door for many sec-
tors, particularly la-
bour-intensive ones
such as textiles, gem
and jewellery, pharma-
ceuticals and agricul-
ture, Goyal said while
briefing the media
along with the UAE
Minister for Economy
Abdullah Bin Touq Al
Marri here.
The ministers
launched ‘India-UAE
Start-up Bridge’ at the
India-UAE Partnership
Summit, organised by
industry body CII here.
“Clearly millions of
jobs will be added if our
exports which are now
at about $36 billion,
which is about nearly
Rs 2.5 lakh crore, grows
as we are planning. And
my own guess estimate
is this partnership can
finally go up to about
$250 billion of bilateral
trade on both sides.
“So my sense is that
this will give a big boost
to economic growth, to
jobs. And the opportu-
nities it opens not only
in the UAE, but in the
larger ground for the
African region. (It)
should significantly
give a bump up to the
Indian economy as
well,” Goyal said.
He added that the
pact would not only
open doors for Indian
businesses to UAE but
also to other countries
as UAE is a transit point
for large parts of Afri-
ca, CIS (Commonwealth
of Independent States)
countries, and the Gulf
region.
CIS countries include
Armenia, Azerbaijan,
Belarus, Georgia, Ka-
zakhstan, Kyrgyzstan,
Moldova, Russia, and
Tajikistan.
Further, Goyal said
that Indian pharma
products will get imme-
diate access to the UAE
market and “we believe
(bilateral) trade will
grow to at least to $100
billion in the near fu-
ture....Our own commit-
ment is to take it to a
much higher level”

New Delhi (PTI): The

The court said it is
imperative that neces-

the Delhi Police com-

tion is taken against

chief is focusing exclu-

cial media is consid-
ered as a part of
Mayawati's well
thought out strategy.
For the past decade,
the graph of BSP's elec-
toral performance has
taken the shape of a
downward trajectory.
In the 2014 general elec-
tions, it could not win a
single seat.
In the 2019 general
elections, despite the
alliance with the SP,
the party's vote share
did not increase but it
got five seats. In the
year 2017 assembly
polls, Mayawati’s party
got 19 seats with 22.24
percent vote share. In
the recent elections,
the performance of
BSP has reached its
worst level since 1993.
With the victory in just
one seat, its vote share
came down to around
thirteen percent.
After the results,
Mayawati blamed shift-
ing of Muslim voters to
the SP for such dismal
performance.
Now, from the Rajya
Sabha to the Legisla-
tive Council of the
state, there is a seri-
ous crisis of maintain-

the BSP.

North Block on Friday,
Union Minister of State
Dr Jitendra Singh said
that in the last eight
years, several path-
breaking reforms have
been undertaken by the
Department of Person-

These changes can be
categorised as reforms
related to Governance
and reforms related to

the dynamic list will
help in selecting the
right officer for the
right assignment based
on available profile and
is a vital source of in-
formation on the offic-
ers manning various
posts for the general
public. He said that the

REMOVAL OF ANGLO-INDIAN REPRESENTATION FROM LS
Plea filed before Delhi High Court
New Delhi (PTI): The
Delhi High Court on
Friday sought the Cen-
tre's stand on a petition
challenging the remov-
al of the process of
nomination of mem-
bers of the Anglo-Indi-
an community to the
Lok Sabha and the
State Legislative As-
semblies.
The high court, how-
ever, observed that no
purpose was left for giv-
ing such representation
after 70 years.
A bench headed by
Acting Chief Justice
Vipin Sanghi asked
the central govern-
ment to file its submis-
sions and listed for a
preliminary hearing
on November 18 the pe-
tition by the Federa-
tion of Anglo-Indian
Associations in India
challenging the 104th
Constitution (One
Hundred and Fourth
Amendment) Act, 2019
and its Bill.
What is the purpose
left? It appears it (the
provision for represen-
tation in the legisla-
ture) was for assuring
that you will be heard.
That objective is now
achieved. It is over, said
the bench also compris-
ing Justice Navin
Chawla, which asked
what was there to show
that the community
was backward.
The court observed
that the community
has integrated itself
with the local popula-
tion, noting that in 70
years, there would be
three generations of an
Anglo-Indian family.
Additional Solicitor
General Chetan Shar-
ma opposed the issu-
ance of notice on the
petition and said that
the provision was
meant for a limited
time and the case of
Anglo Indians who are
urbanised-- cannot be
compared with that of
scheduled castes com-
munities which suffer
stigmatic backward-
ness. Get us the consti-
tutional debates. Show
us the initial thought,
the court said.
The counsel for the
petitioner said that
the idea behind the
provision was to safe-
guard the weakest peo-
ple and by virtue of
the Act under chal-
lenge, the community
has been stripped of
its voice.

“regime change con-

mer prime minister
Imran Khan and to
prevent a “political

Khan, ousted
through a no-trust

accused the US of or-

An ‘aggressive’ Fadnavis emerging
as New Delhi’s ‘point man’ in Mumbai

Mumbai: With the fast-
changing political sce-
nario in Maharashtra,
especially in Mumbai,
over the last couple of
months, a fresh lease of
life was given to “silent
performer” and former
Chief Minister Deven-
draFadnaviswho,forthe
first two years since the
fall of his government,
maintained an extreme-
ly low profile despite be-
ing the leader of the op-
position in the state leg-
islative assembly
.
According to sources,
amid the ongoing BJP-
Shiv Sena-NCP political
war, Fadnavis has sud-
denly emerged as New
Delhi’s “point man” in
Mumbai to take on the
saffron party’s political
opponents, “by hook or
by crook”, and was re-
cently advised by the
party high command to
“perform or perish”.
With the growing num-
ber of CBI, ED and In-
come-Tax cases against
leadersof theShivSena,
NCP and Congress, it is
believed in relevant cir-
cles that there is a “hid-
den and discreet” role
played by Fadnavis as
“principal informer”
also working as a
“friend,philosopherand
guide” to central intelli-
gence agencies.
Fadnavis, as Maha-
rashtra CM for five
years, is reportedly in
possession of highly
sensitivedocumentsand
tapes which can put
quite a few senior Sena,
NCP and Congress lead-
ers in a tight spot. There
isageneralfeelinginthe
opposition that Fad-
navis is working as the
“coordinator” for cen-
tralrevenueintelligence
agencies having thor-
oughly done his “home-
work”, in addition to
having generated his
own “data bank” to nail
political opponents.
This was in fact one
of the aspects on which
he was grudged by his
party high command:
for not exploiting the
sharp intelligence
gleaned from the home
department which was
under his charge to neu-
tralize political oppo-
nents in Maharashtra.
Fadnavis chose to main-
tain good political equa-
tions and a steady boat
instead of going after
his political rivals out-
side the BJP
.
Inoneparticularcase,
when Fadnavis was
asked by the media how
he was in possession of
a “secret tape” related to
phonetapping,he“inno-
cently” replied that the
concerned video, and
audiotapes were re-
ceived by him on his mo-
bile through Whatsapp,
while some were sent to
him by post. All these
“developments” have
virtually forced the
Mumbai business and
corporate world to ac-
cord an equivalent sta-
tus, importance and rec-
ognition to Fadnavis on
par with CM Uddhav
Thackeray
.
The reasons are very
clear: Most business big-
wigs are suitably “con-
cerned”abouttheopera-
tions of the ED, I-T de-
partment and CBI and,
at this stage, believe that
any “communication
gap” with the former
BJP Chief Minister can
prove fatal to their busi-
ness interests. All said
and done, despite clarifi-
cations and contradic-
tions made by Fadnavis,
almost everyone in In-
dia’s financial capital
now believes that there
is close coordination
and understanding be-
tween the central agen-
cies and the BJP in Ma-
harashtra, which is
closely monitored and
supervised by the pow-
erful and strong ‘Num-
ber Two’ in the national
capital.

being a taekwondo
player I often received
statements like “ladki
ko ye sab shobha nhi
deta”, but I believed in
myself and my dreams
and I finally made it to
the Nationals.
When asked how she’d
like to see herself a few
years down the line,
Shruti said, “I see
myself to be a
confident wom-
an of substance
just like my mom,
who is an ideal ex-
ample for me.”
When asked about
what message she’d like
to give to the coming
generation, the beauty
said, “For me it’s always
about the confidence you
carry.
Failures are stepping
stones to success. One
should believe in them-
selves and never be both-

ety says, be the better
version of yourself, fight
