Eulogy For Grandmother
Growing up my grandparents lived across the street from us. We spent a lot of our time over there hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. When
it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, it was time to wipe the dirt off and start baking. We spent most of our time in the kitchen with
Grandma making cookies. Grandma's house was probably a lot like your Grandma's house. Right when I walked in, it was like the oven just spit
out its first batch of cookies. The warmth and smell of the house came from that oven. It was older than Grandma was. It squeaked and hissed every
time it opened. The oven was so ugly, no one would ever believe the beautiful things it could make. The boys would be in the living room yelling and
shouting while watching basketball, football, hockey, or any other professional or college sport there is, occasionally stopping in to steal some...show

I only recall making chocolate chip cookies with Grandma. I was too young to remember anything more than the gooey sweetness that came out
of the oven when I was over at Grandma's house. That, and the stories I am told are what Grandma Marsha is to me. She is a pan full of soft,
steamy, chocolate chip filled cookies. To this day Mom and I still make chocolate chip cookies. We play the same music from the original vinyl
records. We make them whenever we have all the ingredients, have the craving, or just think of Grandma. Dana comes over on Grandma's birthday
to make them with us. This is when they tell stories of Grandma. We look at old pictures, pictures with the corners folded over and stacked in an old
box in the basement. Grandma always took a lot of pictures of my mom and I when we were in the kitchen together. Grandma used to say that we
were inseparable. I never went or did anything without my mom or without her permission. Today, I am still like this. I do everything with my mom. It
all started with baking chocolate chip cookies with

Eulogy For Grandmother
It had been a regular Sunday, the family was getting together at Grandma's house for dinner. However, one chair remained empty like always. The
chair reserved for the youngest grandson, Benny, currently fighting overseas. Her husband asked her constantly why she left the chair out. There'd be
so much more room for everyone if they just took the chair out from the table.
"Benny may not be here with us physically," She'd state matter–of–factly, a wrinkled index finger pointed in the air, "but he is always with us in spirit
and he will come home!" The short Vietnamese woman worked in the garden that afternoon, harvesting the freshest vegetables to cook for dinner. Dirt
wedged its way under her fingernails as she pulled up carrots one by one. The gold wedding band twisting around her finger as she dug her hands
through the soil. She huffed and sat back on her heels next to the bowl of...show more content...
Her vision obstructed only by a few loose strands of white hair that had fallen out of the tight bun at the back of her head. They weren't expecting
anyone else for dinner; everyone was already here. And it wasn't a car she recognized belonging to anyone she knew. The door opened and out
stepped a young man in an army uniform. It was Benny. So many emotions passed through Grandma's head, disbelief, joy, relief. Her deep sunken
brown eyes looked as though the sun were shining behind them. Smile lines becoming more defined as a look of pure joy overtook all her features.
Her small hands flew up to her face, covering her mouth and nose. Slowly, she rose to her feet, still not quite believing her eyes. Benny beamed as he
made his way towards her; he'd been looking forward to surprising his Grandma more than anyone else in the family. Other members of the family had
heard the commotion and came outside to investigate. Some were in shock and others were crying, but everyone felt a sense of relief that Benny was

Eulogy For Grandmother
The summer going into 8th, it was both a joyful and unhappy summer. Unfortunately, my grandpa died in at the very end of my 7th grade year,
only a few days before school got out. My grandma and grandpa lived in a large house in Spring Lake only a few blocks away from the beach, and
when my grandpa passed it was just my grandma living there by herself. Coincidentally, my neighbors who lived right behind us were selling their
house and moving to South Carolina. We talked to my neighbors before anyone else looked at the house because we knew that the situation could
not be more perfect. Our neighbors were friendly but we were never really that close to them because they were older and quiet, but we knew that the
house would be a perfect spot for my grandma to live so we can help her out. Our family knew that our grandma needed out help and she did not want
to live alone, this move was great for everyone. It was settled and in about a month my grandma would be my new neighbor....show more content...
She lived in that house for about 40 years so there was a lot of stuff to sort through. The house was very large with seven bedrooms but was also
every old. The new people who were buying it want to renovate it and add onto the back of the house. Everyone had mixed feelings about the move.
We were all happy to have our grandma living directly behind us but also sad to see the house that they had for so long go. Everything was in boxes
and the house seemed lonely the packing was pretty much done and by the beginning of August everything but the furniture was ready to go. The
move was set for august 8th. The move was now only a week

"Take me with you to America, dad!" I said. Tears escape my grandmother's eyes. "I am tired of living the gypsy life!" Sobs thunder out of her, spill
over the banks. During this time, my nine–year–old vocabulary putrefied. Due to my father's recent victory of the Visa Lottery, and victory in holding
his family's one–way ticket to freedom, I became accustomed to and regurgitated my parent's discontent with Romania. Despite having the opportunity
to stay with my grandparents and knowing that my bond with the most important person in my life–my grandmother–would shatter, I eagerly leapt out
of her arms. I leapt into the train that sped my parents, sister, and I towards an unknown land: a yellow–colored country that appeared in a weathered

I continued working in order to help my grandfather return to Romania during the summer. Back home, cheap medical care obligates him to return in
order to refill prescriptions and attend doctor appointments. During winter break in the beginning days of 2018, time finally seemed to settle into a
manageable rhythm. That evening, my mother revealed news to me that changed my life forever: "I was on your grandfather's phone when he received
a text notification from a prostitute. He has been speaking and giving money to them when he lives in Romania ever since your grandmother passed

My Grandmother
My Grandmother goes by the name of babunya, and baba for short, this means grandma in Ukrainian. She lived in Ukraine for most of her life, and
she is almost 90 years old now. She's been through a lot in her years, thus her appearance has changed. For every wrinkle she has there's a story to
match. She has had every color hair: blonde, red, brown, and black. Now her hair is a short gray color. She keeps it short because it stays out of the
way, even though she hates it short. She has always had long her until now. She has also progressively become shorter over the years due to a very
bad back; she now stands just under five feet. Since she spends most of her days in the garden her usual outfit...show more content...
She usually watches the news and educates herself on what is happening in the world around her. When we go to visit her the conversations usually got
the same way everytime.
My grandma usually starts off by saying something along the lines of "how's school going for you? How are your grades? How is work going? Do you
like your teachers?" This part of the conversation doesn't last long
If there is one thing my grandma is good at, it's talking. She loves telling stories and talking about what's going on in the world today. Babunya is a
very sociable person and can hold a conversation with anyone.
My baba was born in a time when the only way you could have food on your plate for dinner was if you hunted it yourself. She would explain to me
that "living in a communist country was one of the worst things I have ever seen or been through. Not only was my country communist, we were
going through a famine. There was no way to get food because the government starved us. If I wanted to eat that day I would have to kill a bird or
whatever else was around that day." My grandma is a very strong woman. She grew up with 3 brothers and 1 sister, who were all older. She always
wanted to be like her siblings. Because her siblings were all older, my grandmother was a very fast learner. They taught her what they were during in
school so by the time she got to that grade level she already knew the information. My grandma

Grandma's voice was warm, gentle, even beautiful. My grandmother was beautiful, there could be millions of people singing, and I'd still be able
to pick hers out its so beautiful. I laid there on the couch listening to her gentle voice, smiling every time she brushed her gentle fingers thoroughly
my brown hair. But her voice was quickly silenced by the loud chomps of what sounded like a bear. It was grandpa he was up, dressed, and
gobbling down some eggs and bacon. "We better get a goin Kaybug," Papaw yelled as if I was a mile away from him. Anxious and amused, I went
in my room and had grandma help me get dressed. By the time I was dressed and ready to go, grandpa had already gotten the fishing poles and
started to head down to the Elk River. We rushed down the hill, jogged down the stairs, and skipped the rest of the way there. Excitingly, I handed
grandpa the bucket of squirmy worms, so he could help me put them on the poles. After the worms were on the hooks papaw helped me cast the pole
out into the vast water. We just sat there waiting, I gazed at the orange and...show more content...
"Papaw," I whisper, "my fishing pole moved." Papaw peered up at me and hollered, "REEL IT IN KAYBUG." Cheerfully, I reeled in the fishing
line and there it was the tiny baby sunfish. I don't think the fish was any smaller than an inch worm. But, it was my very first fish. The fish
dangled there on the line, the hook in its musty mouth it was almost sad. Papaw then took it off the hook, so we could cook and devour it. He sat
the fish down on two distorted rocks that were crossed over the fire. Papaw went to go check his pole when all of a sudden, I heard a hissing noise and,
apparently grandpa did too. "Kk can you come over here with papaw," he said with a hint of worry in his voice. I didn't reply I just rushed over to
him confusingly. Just then I realized the hissing noise was a snake; an ugly scrawny

Examples Of An Interview With Judy Peiton
Composing an interview with my grandmother, Judy Peiton is an experience I will never take for granted. I wasn't privileged with a chance to know
or be raised by my Canterbury family till I was 19 years old. This family has been a mystery to me and building a connection with them has been
challenging. This interview, provided myself a deeper understanding of thefamily and why certain traditions are so important to this side of my
newly gained family. Grandma is the closest connection to my oldest living relative I ever knew great grandma, Martha Rupple. Martha Rupple
lived to be 101 years old passing away roughly one year ago. Martha loved to tell others about her experiences through life considering she
witnessed many changes come to our world. Judy is the daughter to great grandma Martha allowing her to give me a perspective of what life was
like for my great grandma while also giving me her viewpoint on life and the way our world is turning out. Judy Peiton was born Judy Rupple on
December 22, 1937. In the year 1959 Judy married a gentlemen named Russell Canterbury providing her two children. The first born was my father
Jeff Canterbury 1960 and my uncle Doug Canterbury 1961. What is unique about my father and uncle is they where born 358 days a part, not even a
full calendar year. In 1965 Judy and Russell separated from their marriage and grandma Judy went on to marry Jerry Peiton a year later 1966. Grandma
is now a widow losing grandpa Jerry in January of 2017.

One day, I went to one of my godmother's house because our house was getting fixed, that day we were all playing a game (which I forgot what the
game was called) So we were running around chasing each other till at least 9:30 p.m. and we were all getting tired and bored so we decided to get a
drink of water and play a different game which everyone agreed with, but as we started playing no one was doing anything except for sitting down
and saying they are not playing when they were about to get tagged, so we all stopped playing and at I I:00 I went to sleep. That next day I had a
soccer game which was the quarter finals, first half we were winning 2–1 I got sube after that we were winning 3–1 after my friend has scored a banger
from a corner kick, then there was a girl in our team she was ok but my freind send her a thru ball and I was wide open to score, she passed it to me

Reflection Paper On Grandmother
My grandmother has been a very important person throughout my life. My entire childhood was spent with her, and we grew older together. Since
we spent so much time with one another, it was inevitable for me to always get stuck hearing her stories about the "good ol' days" and the stories that
always started with "back in my time". Just as any teenager would do, I tuned these stories out and replied with a laugh at the end. Looking back now,
I wish that I had paid more attention to those stories that defined my grandmother and made her who she is today. Fortunately, I have been giventhe
opportunity to go back in time with her and let her reminisce and share those stories once again while I listen full heartedly. To begin the discussion, I
asked her to share her childhood with me and how it was like growing up in her time. She told me memories she had with her family, her favorite
hobbies, and how different the school system was back then. After we explored every aspect of her life in the past, we delved into the present to
discuss how the aging process has had an impact on her. My grandmother's attitude towards anything is very optimistic, so I would only expect it
to be the same for this process. She states that she sees growing older as her opportunity to do as much as she can and whatever she wants. By
keeping this positive outlook on life, it allows her to stay mentally and physically younger. At the age of 65, she experienced a ruptured brain
aneurysm, and I presume her outlook on life changed dramatically because of this. She was given a second chance at life, and she could not be
more thankful for that. Given this opportunity, she does not take anything for granted and is just lucky to be living. This is what keeps her going.
"Attitude is everything," she says smiling. On the other hand, she has seen the other side of the aging process. Her husband is quite a bit older than
she is, and his health has been declining rapidly. By seeing his aging process not be successful and as optimal as hers, she does have a slightly
negative attitude regarding it at times. After suffering a major heart attack, his cognition and physical abilities have declined, and his attitude is very
negative. Due to this, her

How My Grandmother Impacted My Life
People can impact your life in all sorts of ways. My grandma impacted my life Through my grandma's advice and character, she has taught me to
always be kind, make a positive difference in another person's life, and to always be brave. My grandma was one of the few people I looked up to
during the early years of my childhood. She was conscientious, affable, and dependable in her field of work. She worked as a security guard in a
high school that was located in Romulus, where she pushed them to strive as if they were her grandchildren. I remember one time in particular,
my grandma ran into a former student who dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen a few months prior, working at a pizza place. She
caught a glimpse of the girl, and her big brown eyes widened promptly as they were filled with an immense amount of joy and sensitivity. Her
initial reaction was to wrap her warm, soft, freckled arms around the nape of the young women's thin, pale neck. As the conversation continued, I
sat at an old wooden table that creaked each time I leaned against it, impatiently waiting for the signal to leave as I kicked my feet back and forth
underneath the chair. I was seven at the time and had no idea how my grandma could carry on a conversation so gracefully and for so long. After
what felt like a lifetime of waiting, she finally gave me her quick little wave, and her cheery "goodbye" smile and I knew it was time to leave. As we
scattered through the busy parking lot, towards the

My grandma or as we grandchildren call her, Paw–Paw (which in Chinese means your mother's mother) is an amazing lady and let me just tell you a
great cook too. She is a lady with a big personality and so much caring in her soul. She takes care of us when we need something or if we just want
someone to hangout with. My grandma is one great person and anyone who meets her can easily figure that out. She is my grandma, friend, and one
of my biggest role models as she had to travel across the world to come to the United States. She cares, she cooks, she hugs, and she loves.
When my grandma was a teenager, she had to embark a journey that most would fear to do. She traveled half–way across the world from China to
America on a boat the size of...show more content...
Now when I hug my grandma, it's familiar and feels like home. Her small arms around me, with her painted sparkling nails that match her
personality so well. Whenever she sees one of the grandchildren her small eyes light up and become big. She waves at us, with a big smile, in the
distance while walking fast to come give us a hug. Along with the big hug, you get a big kiss on the cheek that often leaves a pink stain behind.
When my parents would go on a trip my brother and I would get to have awesome sleepovers at my grandparents house. I would get to pick the
movie and snacks, then we would lay in her bed and just talk about everything. Then in the morning I would wake up to the best eggs ever.
Now think of the best fried rice you've ever had and multiply that by about 10, that's how good my grandma's fried rice is. My family and I make it all
the time but it is never as good as hers. Not only is the fried rice good so are all the other dishes; birthday noodles, chives and pork, and New Years
Eve dumplings. And the smell, it consumes all rooms of the house and makes you so excited for your meal. My grandparents favorite restaurants
include Lings Buffet, Mei Wei, and Cici's Pizza (yes, all buffets, which none of us complain about because they are all so good). But, the best food
is her own especially if it is cooked in the wok. So many meals have been cooked in the original wok favors, like soy sauce and meat, from past meals

she does for my family. She is the most generous person I've ever met and not just grandmother nature either I see her give to every person she

parents and everyone around me were addicted to some pretty bad drugs, there were times where the yelling and arguing would never stop and I didn't

Losing My Grandmother
The feeling of losing someone you love is indescribable. It came upon my family so suddenly, not a day goes by that I don't think about my
grandma. I tell myself everyday not to take life for granted, and after 2 years I am still learning. My grandma was always back and forth between
her health status, it never surprised us when she would be seriously ill and back on her feet the next day. Leading up to the last few years you
could truly see her health decline. The Christmas before she passed away she told us it would be her last. Its chilling to know she was right. It was
a cold tuesday night. I was supposed to be at cheer practice, it was junior year and i was cheer captain. The team needed me there, but my grandma
had been on hospice for a little over four days now so i skipped. Hospice is life support in the comfort of one's own home, nurses on the clock at all
times making sure they rest easy. The around the clock care usually stops after a week, when the patients usually pass on. Thanksgiving had just
passed and the decorations were still hung up around her house. It smelt of pinecones and old people.. Walking through the house I noticed the
kitchen was clean, probably for the first time in months, she was always cooking up a storm. down the hallway of the kids rooms i could tell they
had not been touched since my grandma went into hospice care. It was always a wreck that she would halfway clean just to give up and sit in her
mobile scooter with the QVC

My Grandma Speech
My grandma has always been my number one supporter in my life. Whatever I have wanted to do, she never questioned it and has always been
proud of me no matter what. There is actually a great difference in age between us, because she was born in 1928 and I was born in 1996, meaning
there is a 68 year age difference between us. I have seldom felt like there was that much of a difference in our ages since we are so similar, but after
doing the interview I can now see how different the time was when she was growing up verses the present time. Because she has made a huge impact
in my own life, I wanted to find out more about her and her history. By getting in an in–depth conversation with her through the interview, I learned
many things about her life that I take for granted in my own.
One thing I've always known about my grandma is that she enjoys watching sports, but what I didn't know was that she played softball and
volleyball growing up. In our conversation, she explained to me how much she loved being athletic. Her older brother would let her tag along
sometimes with him, and they'd play football with his friends. She said even though they let her play, they treated her like a girl and not a real
player. Although she didn't get to play like the rest of the boys, on the Christmas she was 13 she asked for two things, a football and a tube of red
lipstick. Surprisingly, her parents gave her both. My grandma loved that football so much that she told me that was the only time

Biography Of My Grandmother
My grandmother, Kathy A Gerdes was born March 10, 1947 and has done many great things in her life. She excelled in everything because she is
very strong and determined to do things. Growing up, I was always with her and watching her do things which is why I look up to her. It wasn't
until she moved in with us until I got to have a strong relationship and get to see the kind loving person she is. This biography portrays what she
has accomplished and how she is loving and strong. As a child, my grandma had a very simple life even though her parents were strict. She grew
up in New Prague, Minnesota, by the old creamery. She had 3 siblings, Rosie, Roman, and Tony. They are all older than her and each sibling is
about 10 years apart. Her dad owned a barber shop and her mom was stay at home. My grandma had to do many chores around the house including
dishes, cleaning, garden work, shoveling snow, and many other things. She was always expected to do her chores for the day after school or she
would be in trouble. Her parents were very conservative catholics. Her family had to go to church every Sunday and they didn't have a choice if they
wanted to go or not.
Kathy had many memories as a child. She loved to play outside all of the time. She played things like hide n' seek, ring around the frypan, Jacks, and
marbles with shooters. She played many guy sports like football and basketball because she always played with boys that lived around her. She also

A Speech About My Grandmother
Family always come first to me, no matter what. Ever since I was little I remember going over to my grandmother's house every holiday with my
parents. For me, it was a very special time because I didn't get to see my grandmother as often as I would have liked. When the holidays were coming
up, I remember how excited I would get to go see her.
There comes a time in your life when you start to run out of energies and are not as strong as you used to be. When we are young we look at our
older loved ones and we never expect them to lose their strength. In our eyes they are similar to a super–hero in which they would never run out of
strength. But as a natural aging process, it will come sooner or later. My grandmother was a strong, independent women. To this day I still admire that
about her. When she started to lose her strength, little by little she needed help with things that weren't ever a problem for her, like cleaning around the
home, cooking big meals for the family and taking care of herself and her hygiene. My father, along with my aunts and uncles, knew that she no
longer would be able to be as independent. In order to prevent her from getting hurt or not being able to accomplish a task on her own, they knew it
was best to move her into a nursing home. At that age, around 9, I wasn't sure what this meant or how it looked, or didn't even understand the point
for it, she was my grandmother and in my eyes she was perfect and a strong women. All I knew was that all the

Descriptive Essay About My Grandmother
My grandmother was a tough lady.
At just over five feet tall, she was the kind of woman that you saw on the street and knew to move out of her way. Her demeanor was strict, her hands
tied with thick blue veins, crissВcrossing over her thin, frail fingers.
I remember holding her hands as a child, how delicate and soft they seemed and yet that never made them seem any less worn or sturdy. Her hands
told stories of different times, of different worlds and hardships. She had grown up worlds away from me, in a different land, at a different time, in an
era and a life that I would never know.
My grandmother had stories.
But, she never told stories. Her stories were in the way she ate – she savored her food, cherished it. Often she would be...show more content...
She was seldom outwardly affectionate. She didn't need to be. When I wrapped my arms around her small frame, afraid I would break her, she
responded with a strength disproportionate to her size.
She held tightly, like she was holding on for dear life, and then she let go, she smiled and she moved on.
My grandmother was an intelligent woman.
She had little schooling, but she had run businesses. She had managed on her own, with a husband and sons, in a country that didn't care for her or
her culture, but only for their aggrandized version of it. Her experiences were rightful cause to be jaded and hard, and yet she saw brightness and she
saw brightness in me. She saw the great things in life, she loved hard and appreciated the little things – us going for a walk together or just sitting in the
sun on a warm day.
My grandmother's stories were in her complaints.
My grandmother complained about petty things: things that I would complain about. But she never complained about life and she never complained
about pain.
My grandmother had developed a brain tumor, which when removed, removed much of her immediate memory. For a long time, she didn't remember
my name. She had no idea who I was. But she tried and she learned.
She understood perseverance and the importance of people and she carried on against all odds. The last time I spoke to her, she knew exactly who I
was, despite

Speech About My Grandmother
My grandma was one of the most caring and selfless persons I knew. She was a survivor of breast cancer, but was later diagnosed with cancer in her
liver because it had moved from her breast to her liver. The doctors told her she didn't have much longer to live, and she realized that. Her death was
very hard, mainly because it was the first one I ever experienced in my family. She passed away on July 7,2016. While the story leading up to her
funeral was very confusing for me, there was a lot of important life things to remember. My mom was at a pool party with my sister and all her
friends when we figured out my grandma was in the hospital. I was at home watching my brothers when my uncle called me. I knew something
was wrong right away because my uncle never ever called me. He left a message saying to get back to him, but with everything that was going on
with my grandma,I knew something was wrong and immediately tried to get a hold of my mom. I never called my uncle back because it just didn't
feel right to figure something out about my grandma before my mom. At that moment I actually did not know where my mom was, and told my
brothers to get to bed and drove through town like a maniac. I finally decided to drive to my mom's friend house where I asked them to get my mom
for me, trying not to cry. When my mom came up to me I handed her the phone to call her brother my uncle and he told her that Grandma was in the
hospital and might not make it through the night. Right

Eulogy For Grandmother

  • 1. Eulogy For Grandmother Growing up my grandparents lived across the street from us. We spent a lot of our time over there hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa. When it was time to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house, it was time to wipe the dirt off and start baking. We spent most of our time in the kitchen with Grandma making cookies. Grandma's house was probably a lot like your Grandma's house. Right when I walked in, it was like the oven just spit out its first batch of cookies. The warmth and smell of the house came from that oven. It was older than Grandma was. It squeaked and hissed every time it opened. The oven was so ugly, no one would ever believe the beautiful things it could make. The boys would be in the living room yelling and shouting while watching basketball, football, hockey, or any other professional or college sport there is, occasionally stopping in to steal some...show more content... I only recall making chocolate chip cookies with Grandma. I was too young to remember anything more than the gooey sweetness that came out of the oven when I was over at Grandma's house. That, and the stories I am told are what Grandma Marsha is to me. She is a pan full of soft, steamy, chocolate chip filled cookies. To this day Mom and I still make chocolate chip cookies. We play the same music from the original vinyl records. We make them whenever we have all the ingredients, have the craving, or just think of Grandma. Dana comes over on Grandma's birthday to make them with us. This is when they tell stories of Grandma. We look at old pictures, pictures with the corners folded over and stacked in an old box in the basement. Grandma always took a lot of pictures of my mom and I when we were in the kitchen together. Grandma used to say that we were inseparable. I never went or did anything without my mom or without her permission. Today, I am still like this. I do everything with my mom. It all started with baking chocolate chip cookies with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Eulogy For Grandmother It had been a regular Sunday, the family was getting together at Grandma's house for dinner. However, one chair remained empty like always. The chair reserved for the youngest grandson, Benny, currently fighting overseas. Her husband asked her constantly why she left the chair out. There'd be so much more room for everyone if they just took the chair out from the table. "Benny may not be here with us physically," She'd state matter–of–factly, a wrinkled index finger pointed in the air, "but he is always with us in spirit and he will come home!" The short Vietnamese woman worked in the garden that afternoon, harvesting the freshest vegetables to cook for dinner. Dirt wedged its way under her fingernails as she pulled up carrots one by one. The gold wedding band twisting around her finger as she dug her hands through the soil. She huffed and sat back on her heels next to the bowl of...show more content... Her vision obstructed only by a few loose strands of white hair that had fallen out of the tight bun at the back of her head. They weren't expecting anyone else for dinner; everyone was already here. And it wasn't a car she recognized belonging to anyone she knew. The door opened and out stepped a young man in an army uniform. It was Benny. So many emotions passed through Grandma's head, disbelief, joy, relief. Her deep sunken brown eyes looked as though the sun were shining behind them. Smile lines becoming more defined as a look of pure joy overtook all her features. Her small hands flew up to her face, covering her mouth and nose. Slowly, she rose to her feet, still not quite believing her eyes. Benny beamed as he made his way towards her; he'd been looking forward to surprising his Grandma more than anyone else in the family. Other members of the family had heard the commotion and came outside to investigate. Some were in shock and others were crying, but everyone felt a sense of relief that Benny was home Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Eulogy For Grandmother The summer going into 8th, it was both a joyful and unhappy summer. Unfortunately, my grandpa died in at the very end of my 7th grade year, only a few days before school got out. My grandma and grandpa lived in a large house in Spring Lake only a few blocks away from the beach, and when my grandpa passed it was just my grandma living there by herself. Coincidentally, my neighbors who lived right behind us were selling their house and moving to South Carolina. We talked to my neighbors before anyone else looked at the house because we knew that the situation could not be more perfect. Our neighbors were friendly but we were never really that close to them because they were older and quiet, but we knew that the house would be a perfect spot for my grandma to live so we can help her out. Our family knew that our grandma needed out help and she did not want to live alone, this move was great for everyone. It was settled and in about a month my grandma would be my new neighbor....show more content... She lived in that house for about 40 years so there was a lot of stuff to sort through. The house was very large with seven bedrooms but was also every old. The new people who were buying it want to renovate it and add onto the back of the house. Everyone had mixed feelings about the move. We were all happy to have our grandma living directly behind us but also sad to see the house that they had for so long go. Everything was in boxes and the house seemed lonely the packing was pretty much done and by the beginning of August everything but the furniture was ready to go. The move was set for august 8th. The move was now only a week Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Eulogy For Grandmother "Take me with you to America, dad!" I said. Tears escape my grandmother's eyes. "I am tired of living the gypsy life!" Sobs thunder out of her, spill over the banks. During this time, my nine–year–old vocabulary putrefied. Due to my father's recent victory of the Visa Lottery, and victory in holding his family's one–way ticket to freedom, I became accustomed to and regurgitated my parent's discontent with Romania. Despite having the opportunity to stay with my grandparents and knowing that my bond with the most important person in my life–my grandmother–would shatter, I eagerly leapt out of her arms. I leapt into the train that sped my parents, sister, and I towards an unknown land: a yellow–colored country that appeared in a weathered atlas...show more content... I continued working in order to help my grandfather return to Romania during the summer. Back home, cheap medical care obligates him to return in order to refill prescriptions and attend doctor appointments. During winter break in the beginning days of 2018, time finally seemed to settle into a manageable rhythm. That evening, my mother revealed news to me that changed my life forever: "I was on your grandfather's phone when he received a text notification from a prostitute. He has been speaking and giving money to them when he lives in Romania ever since your grandmother passed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Grandmother Profile Essays English Composition 1 My Grandmother My Grandmother goes by the name of babunya, and baba for short, this means grandma in Ukrainian. She lived in Ukraine for most of her life, and she is almost 90 years old now. She's been through a lot in her years, thus her appearance has changed. For every wrinkle she has there's a story to match. She has had every color hair: blonde, red, brown, and black. Now her hair is a short gray color. She keeps it short because it stays out of the way, even though she hates it short. She has always had long her until now. She has also progressively become shorter over the years due to a very bad back; she now stands just under five feet. Since she spends most of her days in the garden her usual outfit...show more content... She usually watches the news and educates herself on what is happening in the world around her. When we go to visit her the conversations usually got the same way everytime. My grandma usually starts off by saying something along the lines of "how's school going for you? How are your grades? How is work going? Do you like your teachers?" This part of the conversation doesn't last long If there is one thing my grandma is good at, it's talking. She loves telling stories and talking about what's going on in the world today. Babunya is a very sociable person and can hold a conversation with anyone. My baba was born in a time when the only way you could have food on your plate for dinner was if you hunted it yourself. She would explain to me that "living in a communist country was one of the worst things I have ever seen or been through. Not only was my country communist, we were going through a famine. There was no way to get food because the government starved us. If I wanted to eat that day I would have to kill a bird or whatever else was around that day." My grandma is a very strong woman. She grew up with 3 brothers and 1 sister, who were all older. She always wanted to be like her siblings. Because her siblings were all older, my grandmother was a very fast learner. They taught her what they were during in school so by the time she got to that grade level she already knew the information. My grandma Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Eulogy For Grandmother Grandma's voice was warm, gentle, even beautiful. My grandmother was beautiful, there could be millions of people singing, and I'd still be able to pick hers out its so beautiful. I laid there on the couch listening to her gentle voice, smiling every time she brushed her gentle fingers thoroughly my brown hair. But her voice was quickly silenced by the loud chomps of what sounded like a bear. It was grandpa he was up, dressed, and gobbling down some eggs and bacon. "We better get a goin Kaybug," Papaw yelled as if I was a mile away from him. Anxious and amused, I went in my room and had grandma help me get dressed. By the time I was dressed and ready to go, grandpa had already gotten the fishing poles and started to head down to the Elk River. We rushed down the hill, jogged down the stairs, and skipped the rest of the way there. Excitingly, I handed grandpa the bucket of squirmy worms, so he could help me put them on the poles. After the worms were on the hooks papaw helped me cast the pole out into the vast water. We just sat there waiting, I gazed at the orange and...show more content... "Papaw," I whisper, "my fishing pole moved." Papaw peered up at me and hollered, "REEL IT IN KAYBUG." Cheerfully, I reeled in the fishing line and there it was the tiny baby sunfish. I don't think the fish was any smaller than an inch worm. But, it was my very first fish. The fish dangled there on the line, the hook in its musty mouth it was almost sad. Papaw then took it off the hook, so we could cook and devour it. He sat the fish down on two distorted rocks that were crossed over the fire. Papaw went to go check his pole when all of a sudden, I heard a hissing noise and, apparently grandpa did too. "Kk can you come over here with papaw," he said with a hint of worry in his voice. I didn't reply I just rushed over to him confusingly. Just then I realized the hissing noise was a snake; an ugly scrawny Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Examples Of An Interview With Judy Peiton Composing an interview with my grandmother, Judy Peiton is an experience I will never take for granted. I wasn't privileged with a chance to know or be raised by my Canterbury family till I was 19 years old. This family has been a mystery to me and building a connection with them has been challenging. This interview, provided myself a deeper understanding of thefamily and why certain traditions are so important to this side of my newly gained family. Grandma is the closest connection to my oldest living relative I ever knew great grandma, Martha Rupple. Martha Rupple lived to be 101 years old passing away roughly one year ago. Martha loved to tell others about her experiences through life considering she witnessed many changes come to our world. Judy is the daughter to great grandma Martha allowing her to give me a perspective of what life was like for my great grandma while also giving me her viewpoint on life and the way our world is turning out. Judy Peiton was born Judy Rupple on December 22, 1937. In the year 1959 Judy married a gentlemen named Russell Canterbury providing her two children. The first born was my father Jeff Canterbury 1960 and my uncle Doug Canterbury 1961. What is unique about my father and uncle is they where born 358 days a part, not even a full calendar year. In 1965 Judy and Russell separated from their marriage and grandma Judy went on to marry Jerry Peiton a year later 1966. Grandma is now a widow losing grandpa Jerry in January of 2017. • 8. Eulogy For Grandmother One day, I went to one of my godmother's house because our house was getting fixed, that day we were all playing a game (which I forgot what the game was called) So we were running around chasing each other till at least 9:30 p.m. and we were all getting tired and bored so we decided to get a drink of water and play a different game which everyone agreed with, but as we started playing no one was doing anything except for sitting down and saying they are not playing when they were about to get tagged, so we all stopped playing and at I I:00 I went to sleep. That next day I had a soccer game which was the quarter finals, first half we were winning 2–1 I got sube after that we were winning 3–1 after my friend has scored a banger from a corner kick, then there was a girl in our team she was ok but my freind send her a thru ball and I was wide open to score, she passed it to me and that was the hat trick Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Reflection Paper On Grandmother My grandmother has been a very important person throughout my life. My entire childhood was spent with her, and we grew older together. Since we spent so much time with one another, it was inevitable for me to always get stuck hearing her stories about the "good ol' days" and the stories that always started with "back in my time". Just as any teenager would do, I tuned these stories out and replied with a laugh at the end. Looking back now, I wish that I had paid more attention to those stories that defined my grandmother and made her who she is today. Fortunately, I have been giventhe opportunity to go back in time with her and let her reminisce and share those stories once again while I listen full heartedly. To begin the discussion, I asked her to share her childhood with me and how it was like growing up in her time. She told me memories she had with her family, her favorite hobbies, and how different the school system was back then. After we explored every aspect of her life in the past, we delved into the present to discuss how the aging process has had an impact on her. My grandmother's attitude towards anything is very optimistic, so I would only expect it to be the same for this process. She states that she sees growing older as her opportunity to do as much as she can and whatever she wants. By keeping this positive outlook on life, it allows her to stay mentally and physically younger. At the age of 65, she experienced a ruptured brain aneurysm, and I presume her outlook on life changed dramatically because of this. She was given a second chance at life, and she could not be more thankful for that. Given this opportunity, she does not take anything for granted and is just lucky to be living. This is what keeps her going. "Attitude is everything," she says smiling. On the other hand, she has seen the other side of the aging process. Her husband is quite a bit older than she is, and his health has been declining rapidly. • 10. How My Grandmother Impacted My Life People can impact your life in all sorts of ways. My grandma impacted my life Through my grandma's advice and character, she has taught me to always be kind, make a positive difference in another person's life, and to always be brave. My grandma was one of the few people I looked up to during the early years of my childhood. She was conscientious, affable, and dependable in her field of work. She worked as a security guard in a high school that was located in Romulus, where she pushed them to strive as if they were her grandchildren. I remember one time in particular, my grandma ran into a former student who dropped out of high school at the age of sixteen a few months prior, working at a pizza place. She caught a glimpse of the girl, and her big brown eyes widened promptly as they were filled with an immense amount of joy and sensitivity. Her initial reaction was to wrap her warm, soft, freckled arms around the nape of the young women's thin, pale neck. As the conversation continued, I sat at an old wooden table that creaked each time I leaned against it, impatiently waiting for the signal to leave as I kicked my feet back and forth underneath the chair. I was seven at the time and had no idea how my grandma could carry on a conversation so gracefully and for so long. After what felt like a lifetime of waiting, she finally gave me her quick little wave, and her cheery "goodbye" smile and I knew it was time to leave. As we scattered through the busy parking lot, towards the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Grandmother Essay My grandma or as we grandchildren call her, Paw–Paw (which in Chinese means your mother's mother) is an amazing lady and let me just tell you a great cook too. She is a lady with a big personality and so much caring in her soul. She takes care of us when we need something or if we just want someone to hangout with. My grandma is one great person and anyone who meets her can easily figure that out. She is my grandma, friend, and one of my biggest role models as she had to travel across the world to come to the United States. She cares, she cooks, she hugs, and she loves. When my grandma was a teenager, she had to embark a journey that most would fear to do. She traveled half–way across the world from China to America on a boat the size of...show more content... Now when I hug my grandma, it's familiar and feels like home. Her small arms around me, with her painted sparkling nails that match her personality so well. Whenever she sees one of the grandchildren her small eyes light up and become big. She waves at us, with a big smile, in the distance while walking fast to come give us a hug. Along with the big hug, you get a big kiss on the cheek that often leaves a pink stain behind. When my parents would go on a trip my brother and I would get to have awesome sleepovers at my grandparents house. I would get to pick the movie and snacks, then we would lay in her bed and just talk about everything. Then in the morning I would wake up to the best eggs ever. Now think of the best fried rice you've ever had and multiply that by about 10, that's how good my grandma's fried rice is. My family and I make it all the time but it is never as good as hers. Not only is the fried rice good so are all the other dishes; birthday noodles, chives and pork, and New Years Eve dumplings. And the smell, it consumes all rooms of the house and makes you so excited for your meal. My grandparents favorite restaurants include Lings Buffet, Mei Wei, and Cici's Pizza (yes, all buffets, which none of us complain about because they are all so good). But, the best food is her own especially if it is cooked in the wok. So many meals have been cooked in the original wok favors, like soy sauce and meat, from past meals come through and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I truly look up to her and she is a important part of my life, when I was born I was brought home to a pretty unstable environment my parents and everyone around me were addicted to some pretty bad drugs, there were times where the yelling and arguing would never stop and I didn't really go to school no one was there to make me go, I didn't have any friends really my best friend was my dog, she was a great companion when I was alone. Then as we all gathered around dinner table to pray and get ready to eat. We was eating and grandma started talking about something she heard on the radio called the berlin wall and how they was gonna put it up. The reason the was going to put it up was to divide west and east germany to avoid a war. Grandpa said that west german was capitalism and east german was economic so they had very big differences. • 14. Losing My Grandmother The feeling of losing someone you love is indescribable. It came upon my family so suddenly, not a day goes by that I don't think about my grandma. I tell myself everyday not to take life for granted, and after 2 years I am still learning. My grandma was always back and forth between her health status, it never surprised us when she would be seriously ill and back on her feet the next day. Leading up to the last few years you could truly see her health decline. The Christmas before she passed away she told us it would be her last. Its chilling to know she was right. It was a cold tuesday night. I was supposed to be at cheer practice, it was junior year and i was cheer captain. The team needed me there, but my grandma had been on hospice for a little over four days now so i skipped. Hospice is life support in the comfort of one's own home, nurses on the clock at all times making sure they rest easy. The around the clock care usually stops after a week, when the patients usually pass on. Thanksgiving had just passed and the decorations were still hung up around her house. It smelt of pinecones and old people.. Walking through the house I noticed the kitchen was clean, probably for the first time in months, she was always cooking up a storm. down the hallway of the kids rooms i could tell they had not been touched since my grandma went into hospice care. It was always a wreck that she would halfway clean just to give up and sit in her mobile scooter with the QVC Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. My Grandma Speech My grandma has always been my number one supporter in my life. Whatever I have wanted to do, she never questioned it and has always been proud of me no matter what. There is actually a great difference in age between us, because she was born in 1928 and I was born in 1996, meaning there is a 68 year age difference between us. I have seldom felt like there was that much of a difference in our ages since we are so similar, but after doing the interview I can now see how different the time was when she was growing up verses the present time. Because she has made a huge impact in my own life, I wanted to find out more about her and her history. By getting in an in–depth conversation with her through the interview, I learned many things about her life that I take for granted in my own. One thing I've always known about my grandma is that she enjoys watching sports, but what I didn't know was that she played softball and volleyball growing up. In our conversation, she explained to me how much she loved being athletic. Her older brother would let her tag along sometimes with him, and they'd play football with his friends. She said even though they let her play, they treated her like a girl and not a real player. Although she didn't get to play like the rest of the boys, on the Christmas she was 13 she asked for two things, a football and a tube of red lipstick. Surprisingly, her parents gave her both. My grandma loved that football so much that she told me that was the only time Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 17. A Speech About My Grandmother Family always come first to me, no matter what. Ever since I was little I remember going over to my grandmother's house every holiday with my parents. For me, it was a very special time because I didn't get to see my grandmother as often as I would have liked. When the holidays were coming up, I remember how excited I would get to go see her. There comes a time in your life when you start to run out of energies and are not as strong as you used to be. When we are young we look at our older loved ones and we never expect them to lose their strength. In our eyes they are similar to a super–hero in which they would never run out of strength. But as a natural aging process, it will come sooner or later. My grandmother was a strong, independent women. To this day I still admire that about her. When she started to lose her strength, little by little she needed help with things that weren't ever a problem for her, like cleaning around the home, cooking big meals for the family and taking care of herself and her hygiene. My father, along with my aunts and uncles, knew that she no longer would be able to be as independent. In order to prevent her from getting hurt or not being able to accomplish a task on her own, they knew it was best to move her into a nursing home. At that age, around 9, I wasn't sure what this meant or how it looked, or didn't even understand the point for it, she was my grandmother and in my eyes she was perfect and a strong women. • 18. Descriptive Essay About My Grandmother My grandmother was a tough lady. At just over five feet tall, she was the kind of woman that you saw on the street and knew to move out of her way. Her demeanor was strict, her hands tied with thick blue veins, crissВcrossing over her thin, frail fingers. I remember holding her hands as a child, how delicate and soft they seemed and yet that never made them seem any less worn or sturdy. Her hands told stories of different times, of different worlds and hardships. She had grown up worlds away from me, in a different land, at a different time, in an era and a life that I would never know. My grandmother had stories. But, she never told stories. Her stories were in the way she ate – she savored her food, cherished it. Often she would be...show more content... She was seldom outwardly affectionate. She didn't need to be. When I wrapped my arms around her small frame, afraid I would break her, she responded with a strength disproportionate to her size. She held tightly, like she was holding on for dear life, and then she let go, she smiled and she moved on. My grandmother was an intelligent woman. She had little schooling, but she had run businesses. She had managed on her own, with a husband and sons, in a country that didn't care for her or her culture, but only for their aggrandized version of it. Her experiences were rightful cause to be jaded and hard, and yet she saw brightness and she saw brightness in me. She saw the great things in life, she loved hard and appreciated the little things – us going for a walk together or just sitting in the sun on a warm day. My grandmother's stories were in her complaints.

My grandmother had developed a brain tumor, which when removed, removed much of her immediate memory. For a long time, she didn't remember my name. She had no idea who I was. But she tried and she learned. She understood perseverance and the importance of people and she carried on against all odds. • 20. Speech About My Grandmother My grandma was one of the most caring and selfless persons I knew. She was a survivor of breast cancer, but was later diagnosed with cancer in her liver because it had moved from her breast to her liver. The doctors told her she didn't have much longer to live, and she realized that. Her death was very hard, mainly because it was the first one I ever experienced in my family. She passed away on July 7,2016. While the story leading up to her funeral was very confusing for me, there was a lot of important life things to remember. My mom was at a pool party with my sister and all her friends when we figured out my grandma was in the hospital. I was at home watching my brothers when my uncle called me. I knew something was wrong right away because my uncle never ever called me. He left a message saying to get back to him, but with everything that was going on with my grandma,I knew something was wrong and immediately tried to get a hold of my mom. I never called my uncle back because it just didn't feel right to figure something out about my grandma before my mom. At that moment I actually did not know where my mom was, and told my brothers to get to bed and drove through town like a maniac. I finally decided to drive to my mom's friend house where I asked them to get my mom for me, trying not to cry. When my mom came up to me I handed her the phone to call her brother my uncle and he told her that Grandma was in the hospital and might not make it through the night.
