Significant Learning Experience
1.What has been your most significant learning experience this month? My most significant learning experience this month included becoming familiar
with facilitating a group that is not psychoeducational. One group that I recently started facilitating requires more preparation than the previous
psychoeducational group I had grown accustomed to. On February 10, 2016, I started facilitating a new group and during this group, participants are
expecting me to have the answers to specific questions they have. Through facilitating this group, I have had the opportunity to understand the true
essence surrounding of group dynamics I have learned that each group facilitator has a different style of leading, and each participant has different
elements they bring to the group as well. In addition, it is beneficial to grow professionally and have new responsibilities within an agency. 2.What has
been your greatest challenge this month?...show more content...
It is easy to become engulfed in an internship where you enjoy completing tasks and the mission of the agency. I feel as though this agency does not
only concern completing required tasks for the today, but assisting other employees as well. It is imperative that I complete all my tasks efficiently,
and assist others with tasks when the opportunity presents itself. I have come to accept the fact that as long as I do not have issues in other areas of
my life due to the motivation of having a high desire to succeed and achieve excellence, there is no problem. In the future, if my strong work ethic
hindered my mental, emotional, physical, or personal being then I will consider other avenues to explore. Currently, I am developing a weekly
self–care plan that will implement an element of balance between academics, internship, and

Experience Of My Learning Experience
My most memorable moments occurred during my elementary school years because most of the learning was combined with fun school trips. I
remember learning about Native Americans and the way they survived in the wild. I was amazed to learn about them and the tools they made as
well. The baskets, fishing, and use of acorns for food. We were able to learn about the importance of knowing of those who came before us. Also,
about the close knit families they had and traditions. The historically aspect of it was very interesting because they were people that were very
different from the culture we knew. The aha moment came by visiting Pioneer Village because I was amazed that we can see and touch a replica of
those times. I realized that...show more content...
During my time in school, there were many great field trips and I am aware that not all schools have the same funding. Therefore, I could only
imagine all the effort it took to find a location at Morro Bay and plan a trip to Pioneer Village. First, the teacher must have planned the lessons that
could coincide with the trip. Students will then be able to experience everything they had learned in the classroom. Before proceeding with the
lessons, days before a field trip, teachers must get clearance and get permission slips from parents. Also, a teacher must figure out if there is funding
from the school. I would imagine that the opportunity would be presented from the school administrators because there were other classes from our
school who went as well to both field trips. Therefore, teachers may have collaborated in regards to the lessons and making the trips happen amongst
each other. In order for students to be prepared for the trip, I would have made sure the students learned what they were going to experience. For
instance, we were aware of how the acorns were crushed; therefore, we were excited to crush them in the same manner we learned that Natives did. For
the ocean trip, students must learn safety precautions because they could slip on the rocks. Teachers must be attentive and helpful to the student's
needs and question while at the location to ensure they understand the meaning of their surroundings. The two field trips were a great

Reflection On Experience And Learning
Going back to what were my beliefs about experience and learning meant to me, I still feel that experience and learning has always been a part of life.
We learn in different ways and process different understandings differently. But as I furthered my knowledge on how experience and learning in
adulthood are understood, I have learned much more. In the beginning of this course, I looked at experiences and learning in the perspective of how
children would learn (pedagogy). I say this because I would always go back to other theorists of child development. For example, like Piaget and
Vygotsky's theories and connect it with how adult learners would learn. We come into class with priorknowledge and build on new ones as we observe
others. Once we socialize with other knowledgeable others we learn to build more information to our prior learning. As I stated before in one of my
discussion, then we grow and develop differently because we are all unique. In the process of adolescence we learn as traditional students, but as adults,
many of us become nontraditional students.
My experience of adulthood, I had many experiences and learned as I go. One of them was a reflection of my experience in education. I knew that a
high school diploma was not enough and needed to search for more knowledge. In fact, as I continued my education (MAAL) it has helped me
understand new theories on how experiences and learning work together. I came to understand that there is a relationship

The Importance Of Experience Learning
Is school the only place where one can experience learning? While knowledge can be gained in school, often we also gain knowledge through our
experiences. Which help us improve our skills and open our eyes to new ideas and perspectives. Notably, real life experiences are just as valuable as
education. Personally, I have been able to experience this first hand by; being able to learn a new culture at young age, household responsibilities , and
participate in sports.
First of, moving to a foreign country might sound like a big adventure or a great start. One of the things that may happen when going to a new
place (even on vacation) is finding yourself comparing everything to how it is back home. Comparing food, quality of life, weather, people's habits,
beliefs, and everything between. Subsequently, moving to a foreign country may not be as easy for some people, and it could be as normal for
others. For me it wasn't easy, at the age of 5 I was moving from El Salvador to the United states. With my dad being a diplomat we have to move a lot.
The U.S. has a completely different culture, language, climate, overall a completely diverse lifestyle and environment. I felt like a complete stranger.
In particular, language barrier was one of the hardest part in this case. Having to watch my mom struggle to communicate with people when she
needed help or anything, was hard because not everyone was nice enough to try and understand her. My mom, my siblings, and I were at the mall
when my

For me, learning a language is a complicated process. It is different from learning other subjects. It involves a lot of practices and follow up. When I
talk about my personal experience, I would say that I have a rich experience in learning English as a second language. English was taught to me for
ten years starting from grade seven till graduation from university. After graduation, I felt that I should improve my language skills. Therefore, I did a
lot of efforts personally to increase my fluency. Until now I still learn the language. Indeed, learning a language takes a lifetime.
I started learning English as a second language when I was in first intermediate. I still remember my first classes and my first teachers. I remember that
my teachers changed frequently in the first year but all of them have much in common. All of them used grammar translation method. They used to
write bilingual lists of words on board, then we, as students, were asked to copy these lists and memorize them by heart. All teaching concentrated on
reading and writing skills, but there were no activities concentrating on speaking or listening. In addition, grammar rules were taught in that stage of
learning the language as mathematics equations, and we were asked to memorize the rules as we...show more content...
Of course, there are certain defects or gaps in my knowledge or ability to use the English language like using idioms and the appropriateness of some
vocabulary. Idioms have many connotations and denotations in the English language. Sometimes I use an idiom and I mean something, but the
connotations of the idiom means something else. Another gap of my knowledge of the language is the appropriateness of using certain vocabulary.
English language entails high sense of using the appropriate word for describing or narrating something. To my mind, I have not reached this point

Peer-Peer Learning Experience Essay
I believe that learning is enhanced when it is student centered and takes place in an environment which, is safe, interactive and collaborative that
promotes problem–solving, skill perfecting and critical thinking. With that said, I think that each nursing student and novice nurse is a unique
individual who needs a healthy working environment in which to learn and grow. It is my desire as a nursing educator, a clinical instructor to help
these students and nurses, both novice and advanced, to meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, supportive, empowering,
satisfying, and calls for a contribution of ideas. The following are three elements that I believe are beneficial to establish such an environment, (1) the
nursing educator/instructor acting as a resource, (2) fostering critical thinking skills, and (3) promoting respect and safety for all. As a nursing
educator, my role is to guide and to provide access to information. For the student or novice nurse to build knowledge, it is essential to have the
opportunity to discover for themselves and practice skills in authentic situations. Offering them access to practical activities...show more content...
By letting nurses have a voice in class or clinical setting, this will help them benefit the peer–peer learning experience. This is accomplished not only
by improving the course or topic material with personal experiences and knowledge but also because they take accountability for their own learning
therefore increasing and integrating new knowledge into practice. When it comes to clinical skills, I believe in a "see one, do one and teach one"
approach. If for some reason, students need to see or practice certain skill more than once, I am readily available to standby and confidently walk them
through that demonstration

A Challenging Learning Experience
A challenging experience in the classroom: Strategies
One of the most challenging experiences for any teacher is dealing with a mixed–level classroom. A class I taught had a very wide range of abilities,
spanning from highly academically competent students to students still struggling with the English language. There were also students with learning
disabilities within the classroom, some of which had formal diagnoses, others of which were not diagnosed but whom I strongly suspected of having
learning challenges. I was forced to ensure that all students had meaningful educational experiences and performed to the highest level of their
capabilities. I found 'team learning' techniques to be extremely effective. I would group students of different ability levels and different learning styles
into the same 'team,' and give assignments that drew upon all the students' strengths. For example, as well as give oral presentations (which suited the
confident students who liked to speak in front of the classroom), I also required the students to create pictures to illustrate their assignment. This gave
the ESL students a chance to make a full contribution to the project, along with their more fluent co–learners. At other times, students of different
ability levels were paired up on–on–one and asked to 'teach one another,' which gave more competent students greater mastery of the subject matter and
an additional skill set of 'teaching,' while still enabled the weaker students to

My Learning Experience
This essay consist of experiences during my high school career that have changed my perspective on learning and critical thinking. The following
questions are addressed in the assignment; How has my high school experience in and out of class influenced my development as a person?. What
were my most challenging experiences? How has developing an educational plan enhanced my vision of a postsecondary future? How have I been of
service to my community and what have I learned from this experience? My school has made me what I am today. It is impossible to become

Bringing in your own paycheck helps students learn to effectively manage their money and rely on themselves and not their parents. You will learn
very quickly the importance of working as a team and having good communication skills. Being able to list work experience on a resume will help
you get ahead of the crowd when it comes time to apply to college, it shows that you are a hardworking individual and it will set you above those
without prior work experience.
Whats were my most challenging high school experiences?.
I have most definitely had some harsh times in high school, whether that's academically or socially. Some of the things that I struggled with in my high
school experience was learning how to study, balancing work and school, and finding a group of people to call your own.
One of my most challenging high school experiences were balancing study time. Staying organized enough to get everything done is a struggle. In
class it is sometimes hard to know which notes are important or not. With there being more work and tests you have to have strong study skills. The
biggest thing is that nobody is going to force you to study, its your decision alone. It's hard when you have assignments in different classes with the
same deadline, but it can be made easier if you break it down into more manageable pieces. I learned to use a day planner and it helped me to become a
little more organized.

The next visit to service learning was in the afternoon. We had lots of activity. I spent outside with children and the wether was sunny and good
for kids to get more vitamin D. We really enjoyed played around. One of the kids was so sweet and stay beside me all the time and asked me to
play with him, I just felt happy and how simple that kids. They did not have resentment, hatred, and envy. Furthermore, It takes a lot out of me
dealing with children because I have to remember they are not adults. In addition, If I faced this experience again, I might do something different,
because I will prepare more and have some plans to do with children. I would do a couple of things differently. I would let the children use their

Service Learning Experience Essay
For the month of March I continued to conduct my 3–5 service learning hours at Grace and Love Church. I wanted to make a difference and educate
the children on basic health standards. I taught the kids basic health tasks that should be conducted daily including: showering, brushing teeth, and
hand washing. As simple as some of the tasks sound, I'm sure there are adults that still struggle to complete the daily health tasks. With my major
involving health science, I wanted to share with the children what I am passionate about, health care and educating others. I explained to the children
what germs were, and how they are everywhere. I also had a translator for the ones that could not understand English. I taught the children that it is
important to shower at least 1–2 times a day to wash away the germs. Shampoo or conditioner along with body wash or soap is also important to
maintain a clean body. Washing one's body daily prevents germs from spreading and prevents infections. Teeth brushing is also very important for
daily care. I decided to create miniature teeth care kits...show more content...
I was very surprised on how much fun teaching was. There is a lot more to teaching than just talking and pointing at pictures, there is a lot of
planning that goes into every lesson. I also had the drive to not procrastinate, I wanted to create the best presentation I could to teach the kids about
healthy habits. I almost felt if I owed the kids my very best, and that is why I made the teeth kits and enjoyed every second of my presentation.
Since I already completed my priority goal of the educating the children of something I know pretty well, my final service hours next month will be
to impact the community even more. I will do as much as I can to end my final session at the church ending it on a good note with positivity and joy I

My Learning Experience In English
CONTEXT
It seems that learning a foreign language has never been an easy job and it takes a lot of time, sometimes all your life to master it (Brown, 2000).
Among the four main skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, the first one could be considered the most challenging and the most crucial
because it includes "all other kinds of knowing" (Ur, 2012). Until now, I can still remember how difficult it was to develop this particular skill when I
was in high school. In this essay, I will clearly describe my learning experiences as a grade–ten student trying to improve the speaking skill through
English lessons at high school.
When I was in high school, I was studying in Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, one of the most famous schools in Ho Chi Minh City at that time
and I was placed in an English intensified class, which meant that most of my classmates was very good at English. My class was such a big one with
46 members, including 38 girls and only 8 boys. Instead of studying 5 periods a week with the course book approved by Ministry of Education, we had

During the periods working with the course book, I followed my teacher's instructions, did everything she asked us to do. Nevertheless, at weekend I
went to an English club at my high school. Here I had the opportunity to literally communicate in English though it was quite hard for me at that time.
The club had 2 instructors, who were also the English teachers of my school and they were very helpful and friendly as well. They encouraged us to
speak English by pointing out the good things that we could get if we mastered English, such as having the ability to communicate with foreigners,
getting a high–paid job in the future or a scholarship to study abroad. Those things were very appealing and it helped to create motivational as well
(Ur, 2012). Thanks to the aid of the club, I became more confident to work with my friends in the group

My Learning Experience Essay
Learning has always been on of my favorite things to do. Partially because I've always done well in school, but also due to my innate desire to know
everything. I hate not understanding anything whether it be how a battery works or why a person makes the choices they do. As a teenager, I have
been in school all my life, which has been my primary source of information. Classroom education can certainly have its limits due to the confined
environment, but my teachers and classes have opened my mind to see the world around me. The simplest things like basic addition and plural noun
conventions seem so obvious to me now, but at one point, I had a teacher to explain these concepts to me. As these lessons have evolved into solving
differential equations and composing analysis of complex literary works, I have been able to expand my brain. My learning experiences have expanded
beyond the classroom in a more immersive, hands–on capacity. With my parents, I have been able to travel both inside and outside the country,
showing me about different cultures and ways of life. Moreover, my time doing competitive robotics and
The more I learn, the smarter I become of course. However, education does more than increase my intelligence. It also shapes my character. I believe
that character is something that have varying definitions to different people. Personally, character is sum of the qualities, both ethical and cognitive,

Reflection On My Learning Experience
Reflections on My Learning Experience Feeling motivated, I have decided to narrate my learning experience on what I have learned about
through my formal education as well as my experience in learning to live. In retrospect, the report cards that I received in high school are a source
of great shame to myself. Although I performed at an average level in most subjects with the exception of excelling in the arts and languages. The
comment on my reports for Math always read: "Needs to spend more time studying". To my teacher's frustration, I always showed a lack of
interest, never paid attention in class and wouldn't heed their advice. Add to that, having bad math teachers. I take full responsibility for my
grades, but after all, my math teacher in ninth grade was fired, because we all failed the class and final exam. I was then placed in a remedial math
class and I was just never able to catch up after that experience; it seemed like I was destined to fail. I did have a few breakthrough moments, which
must have been puzzling for my teachers. On one final exam, I was the only person in my class that passed, and I passed by not using standard
formulas, but some convoluted way of finding an answer, because I was determined to find it. The day after our final exam, my teacher held up my
scrap paper with not an inch of blank space on it, in front of the class, and remarked, "This is outstanding; you never gave up when trying to find the
answer." This would probably be no cause

Essay on My First Learning Team Experience
My First Learning Team Experience
My involvement in the Learning Team environment at the University has been a great learning experience. When we were assigned teams at the end
of the first week, I did not really know what to expect. I have worked on teams numerous times in my career, both in the professional and private
sectors. The teams I have worked on have always been to either produce a product or improve a process. Learning has always been a part of these
teams, but I have never been on a team whose specific purpose was centered on learning.
The first task my learning team was confronted with was coming up with an effective method of communicating. "High–performing teams have
extensive communication mechanisms. They...show more content...
As the leader, I was also responsible for resolving any conflicts that may have arisen during this assignment. I consider myself (and the team) to be
lucky in this, as we did not have any conflicts that needed resolving. The team completed the charter on time and received full marks on the project.
I relinquished the team leadership position for the second team assignment. The assignment was to write a paper on Ethics in the Workplace. The
team decided who would do what for the assignment and then we hit a wall. The first conflict a team faces can be a very difficult one to get over.
Teams in the Storming stage can find it very hard to move forward due to the conflict. A feeling of dread can come over the team, and they may
wonder if they will be able complete the task at all. (Teams in the Workplace, Pg. 315) Our conflict was over the introduction to our paper. We
needed a strong thesis statement that would define our paper. I thought the current statement was far to negative for the content of the paper.
Somehow we needed to put a positive spin on it. Even though this conflict slowed our progress, I believe that this was very constructive for us as a
team. The Learning Team Toolkit describes this type of conflict as "В…disagreement over members' ideas and group issues." (Conflict and Cohesion
in Groups, Pg. 147) The result of this conflict, in my opinion, was a

My Experience Of Learning
We constantly learn through our experiences during our lives. As we begin to grow and develop, we find that the majority of our learning occurs
outside of the classroom. When we take the time to analyze our situations, we discover what we are gaining from our experiences. However, the
vital thing is to inquire what kind of learner you are. Once you determine how you learn best, you are able to fully enhance your experiences as a
learner. As I have developed and grown over the years, I have discovered what kind of a learner I am, and how I can use thisknowledge to enhance my
learning environments. Over time, I have used my previous knowledge of learning styles to analyze and grasp how my experiences have helped me
grow as an individual. Throughout my life, I have applied my learning to become a capable leader, an exceptional communicator, and have learned that
quitting is not always a negative.
For my final year in high school, I was enrolled at a technical center studying graphic design. I quickly learned the importance of taking leadership in
the environment and how it can impact the progression of the group as a whole. From perseverance and competence, I was selected to represent as a
member of the second year program. Additionally, the program offers students who complete the first year program space to work at the studio. There,

Reflection On The Learning Experience
2.0Situation Reflection (1000 words)
2.1Introduction
Reflection is thought by linking recent experience with early experience to promote more complex and interrelated mental models or patterns. The
thinking involves looking for commonalities, differences, and interrelations beyond their superficial elements. The goal is to develop higher order
thinking skills.
Most educators believe that reflection is useful in the learning process, even without the supporting research data. http://www.nwlink.com/~donclark

Essay on My Learning Journey so Far
Learning in a Changing World has brought on a number of positive learning experiences. The knowledge I have gained and theory I have completed
through assessments and in class discussions and tasks has broadened my understanding of learning. It is evident through this text that the theoretical
perspectives focused on in this subject have had a place in the process of my learning journey throughout the semester. Whether this learning has been
learning a new skill for an assessment, observing learning and assisting teaching on placement or collaborative learning in the tutorials, it is clear a
number of theories tie into these learning experiences.

I was lucky enough to be placed at Thornbury Primary School for my first week of placement. On many occasions throughout the five days I
assisted students with their work, from small group work to working one on one with students. At times it was difficult helping student as some

I faced. One challenge was assisting a boy in the class who had special needs. The class began with their Reading Workshop and first off everyone
was required to read a chapter of their book to a class mate or Pre Service Teacher. Although the boy I was working with refused to read to me, I
began to use a number of strategies to motivate him to complete the task at hand. Mooney (2013) expresses Vygotsky's concept, The Zone of Proximal
Development (ZPD), it has been articulated in this text that this ZPD is the space among what someone is capable of without assistance and what
someone is capable of with assistance from a peer or teacher. I implemented this theory with the student, begging with observing the situation and
determining where he was at in his learning process and what he was able to achieve. I began to think that maybe he was not too confidant to

Collaborative Learning Experience
What we truly believe at Alphington Grammar School is that children do not learn in isolation. The process of skill acquisition and knowledge building
is a collaborative process. At Alphington Grammar School, the learning journey encourages students to learn both independently and, from and with
others. If students are to become autonomous and lifelong learners, they need to experience ongoing opportunities for both individual and collaborative
learning. As such, our teachers provide learning experiences to enable students to see things from different perspectives, to value and respect diversity,
and to analyse different points of view. The classroom experience gives our students some flexibility in choosing ways of working both individually
and as part of a team and, encourages them to take responsibility for their own learning.

Gaining Knowledge from Experience Essay
Each day throughout life people learn more about themselves and about the world around them. It is everyone's goal to acquire as much knowledge as
they can because it generally leads to satisfaction in their life. Experience allows to better understand oneself and the surrounding world. Faust and
Michel Montaigne highlight the importance of learning from experiences and what occurs without this learning. Because of their work, learning
through experiences is known to be very effective and therefore is incorporated into many teaching techniques. Gaining knowledge from experiences
helps to unlock parts of the world. In his book "Faust", Faust focuses on how experiences, or lack of experiences, shape the surrounding world. Faust

Michel Montaigne writes in his essays "I am scribbling here a record of my life's experiences, which is sufficient for purposes of inward health"
(Montaigne 361). He is saying that experiences are the root of being internally satisfied. Montaigne focuses on the art of law which deals with the
mind and soul, along with the art of medicine which deals with experiences of the body. He suggests that these are equally importance to a person
to become complete. A person needs to find the appropriate balance between these things, in order to achieve happiness and contentment.
Experiences shape every element of an individual, especially how they form their thinking process. In regards to faith, experiences dictate what to
believe in. Going to church, partaking in mission trip, or a death of a love one are all experiences that bring a person closer or further away from
their faith. By tracing back to the origins of where one gets their faith, it shows that it is rooted and influenced by experiences. Circumstances can
incorporate faith into one's life, but can also bring about doubt. Undergoing similar situations can bring up doubts and hesitation to rethink beliefs
and faith. However, reason is used to come to a consensus to these doubts. Experiences play a key role in providing evidence and proof to justify
facts and feelings. If a person has experienced something, that serves as their logic behind their beliefs and actions. Faith, doubt, and reason, all serve
as tools to

Significant Learning Experience

  • 1. Significant Learning Experience 1.What has been your most significant learning experience this month? My most significant learning experience this month included becoming familiar with facilitating a group that is not psychoeducational. One group that I recently started facilitating requires more preparation than the previous psychoeducational group I had grown accustomed to. On February 10, 2016, I started facilitating a new group and during this group, participants are expecting me to have the answers to specific questions they have. Through facilitating this group, I have had the opportunity to understand the true essence surrounding of group dynamics I have learned that each group facilitator has a different style of leading, and each participant has different elements they bring to the group as well. In addition, it is beneficial to grow professionally and have new responsibilities within an agency. 2.What has been your greatest challenge this month?...show more content... It is easy to become engulfed in an internship where you enjoy completing tasks and the mission of the agency. I feel as though this agency does not only concern completing required tasks for the today, but assisting other employees as well. It is imperative that I complete all my tasks efficiently, and assist others with tasks when the opportunity presents itself. I have come to accept the fact that as long as I do not have issues in other areas of my life due to the motivation of having a high desire to succeed and achieve excellence, there is no problem. In the future, if my strong work ethic hindered my mental, emotional, physical, or personal being then I will consider other avenues to explore. Currently, I am developing a weekly self–care plan that will implement an element of balance between academics, internship, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Experience Of My Learning Experience My most memorable moments occurred during my elementary school years because most of the learning was combined with fun school trips. I remember learning about Native Americans and the way they survived in the wild. I was amazed to learn about them and the tools they made as well. The baskets, fishing, and use of acorns for food. We were able to learn about the importance of knowing of those who came before us. Also, about the close knit families they had and traditions. The historically aspect of it was very interesting because they were people that were very different from the culture we knew. The aha moment came by visiting Pioneer Village because I was amazed that we can see and touch a replica of those times. I realized that...show more content... During my time in school, there were many great field trips and I am aware that not all schools have the same funding. Therefore, I could only imagine all the effort it took to find a location at Morro Bay and plan a trip to Pioneer Village. First, the teacher must have planned the lessons that could coincide with the trip. Students will then be able to experience everything they had learned in the classroom. Before proceeding with the lessons, days before a field trip, teachers must get clearance and get permission slips from parents. Also, a teacher must figure out if there is funding from the school. I would imagine that the opportunity would be presented from the school administrators because there were other classes from our school who went as well to both field trips. Therefore, teachers may have collaborated in regards to the lessons and making the trips happen amongst each other. In order for students to be prepared for the trip, I would have made sure the students learned what they were going to experience. For instance, we were aware of how the acorns were crushed; therefore, we were excited to crush them in the same manner we learned that Natives did. For the ocean trip, students must learn safety precautions because they could slip on the rocks. Teachers must be attentive and helpful to the student's needs and question while at the location to ensure they understand the meaning of their surroundings. The two field trips were a great Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Reflection On Experience And Learning Going back to what were my beliefs about experience and learning meant to me, I still feel that experience and learning has always been a part of life. We learn in different ways and process different understandings differently. But as I furthered my knowledge on how experience and learning in adulthood are understood, I have learned much more. In the beginning of this course, I looked at experiences and learning in the perspective of how children would learn (pedagogy). I say this because I would always go back to other theorists of child development. For example, like Piaget and Vygotsky's theories and connect it with how adult learners would learn. We come into class with priorknowledge and build on new ones as we observe others. Once we socialize with other knowledgeable others we learn to build more information to our prior learning. As I stated before in one of my discussion, then we grow and develop differently because we are all unique. In the process of adolescence we learn as traditional students, but as adults, many of us become nontraditional students. My experience of adulthood, I had many experiences and learned as I go. One of them was a reflection of my experience in education. I knew that a high school diploma was not enough and needed to search for more knowledge. In fact, as I continued my education (MAAL) it has helped me understand new theories on how experiences and learning work together. I came to understand that there is a relationship Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Importance Of Experience Learning Is school the only place where one can experience learning? While knowledge can be gained in school, often we also gain knowledge through our experiences. Which help us improve our skills and open our eyes to new ideas and perspectives. Notably, real life experiences are just as valuable as education. Personally, I have been able to experience this first hand by; being able to learn a new culture at young age, household responsibilities , and participate in sports. First of, moving to a foreign country might sound like a big adventure or a great start. One of the things that may happen when going to a new place (even on vacation) is finding yourself comparing everything to how it is back home. Comparing food, quality of life, weather, people's habits, beliefs, and everything between. Subsequently, moving to a foreign country may not be as easy for some people, and it could be as normal for others. Having to watch my mom struggle to communicate with people when she needed help or anything, was hard because not everyone was nice enough to try and understand her. My mom, my siblings, and I were at the mall when my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. For me, learning a language is a complicated process. It is different from learning other subjects. It involves a lot of practices and follow up. When I talk about my personal experience, I would say that I have a rich experience in learning English as a second language. English was taught to me for ten years starting from grade seven till graduation from university. After graduation, I felt that I should improve my language skills. Therefore, I did a lot of efforts personally to increase my fluency. Until now I still learn the language. Indeed, learning a language takes a lifetime. I started learning English as a second language when I was in first intermediate. I still remember my first classes and my first teachers. I remember that my teachers changed frequently in the first year but all of them have much in common. All of them used grammar translation method. They used to write bilingual lists of words on board, then we, as students, were asked to copy these lists and memorize them by heart. All teaching concentrated on reading and writing skills, but there were no activities concentrating on speaking or listening. In addition, grammar rules were taught in that stage of learning the language as mathematics equations, and we were asked to memorize the rules as we...show more content... Of course, there are certain defects or gaps in my knowledge or ability to use the English language like using idioms and the appropriateness of some vocabulary. Idioms have many connotations and denotations in the English language. Sometimes I use an idiom and I mean something, but the connotations of the idiom means something else. Another gap of my knowledge of the language is the appropriateness of using certain vocabulary. English language entails high sense of using the appropriate word for describing or narrating something. To my mind, I have not reached this point Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Peer-Peer Learning Experience Essay I believe that learning is enhanced when it is student centered and takes place in an environment which, is safe, interactive and collaborative that promotes problem–solving, skill perfecting and critical thinking. With that said, I think that each nursing student and novice nurse is a unique individual who needs a healthy working environment in which to learn and grow. It is my desire as a nursing educator, a clinical instructor to help these students and nurses, both novice and advanced, to meet their fullest potential by providing an environment that is safe, supportive, empowering, satisfying, and calls for a contribution of ideas. The following are three elements that I believe are beneficial to establish such an environment, (1) the nursing educator/instructor acting as a resource, (2) fostering critical thinking skills, and (3) promoting respect and safety for all. As a nursing educator, my role is to guide and to provide access to information. For the student or novice nurse to build knowledge, it is essential to have the opportunity to discover for themselves and practice skills in authentic situations. Offering them access to practical activities...show more content... By letting nurses have a voice in class or clinical setting, this will help them benefit the peer–peer learning experience. This is accomplished not only by improving the course or topic material with personal experiences and knowledge but also because they take accountability for their own learning therefore increasing and integrating new knowledge into practice. When it comes to clinical skills, I believe in a "see one, do one and teach one" approach. If for some reason, students need to see or practice certain skill more than once, I am readily available to standby and confidently walk them through that demonstration Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. A Challenging Learning Experience A challenging experience in the classroom: Strategies One of the most challenging experiences for any teacher is dealing with a mixed–level classroom. A class I taught had a very wide range of abilities, spanning from highly academically competent students to students still struggling with the English language. There were also students with learning disabilities within the classroom, some of which had formal diagnoses, others of which were not diagnosed but whom I strongly suspected of having learning challenges. I was forced to ensure that all students had meaningful educational experiences and performed to the highest level of their capabilities. I found 'team learning' techniques to be extremely effective. I would group students of different ability levels and different learning styles into the same 'team,' and give assignments that drew upon all the students' strengths. For example, as well as give oral presentations (which suited the confident students who liked to speak in front of the classroom), I also required the students to create pictures to illustrate their assignment. This gave the ESL students a chance to make a full contribution to the project, along with their more fluent co–learners. At other times, students of different ability levels were paired up on–on–one and asked to 'teach one another,' which gave more competent students greater mastery of the subject matter and an additional skill set of 'teaching,' while still enabled the weaker students to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Learning Experience This essay consist of experiences during my high school career that have changed my perspective on learning and critical thinking. The following questions are addressed in the assignment; How has my high school experience in and out of class influenced my development as a person?. What were my most challenging experiences? How has developing an educational plan enhanced my vision of a postsecondary future? How have I been of service to my community and what have I learned from this experience? My school has made me what I am today. It is impossible to become independent, confident, honest, responsible and hardworking by just studying the required material in school. These qualities are instilled in us by various experiences that develop us...show more content... Bringing in your own paycheck helps students learn to effectively manage their money and rely on themselves and not their parents. You will learn very quickly the importance of working as a team and having good communication skills. Being able to list work experience on a resume will help you get ahead of the crowd when it comes time to apply to college, it shows that you are a hardworking individual and it will set you above those without prior work experience. Whats were my most challenging high school experiences?. I have most definitely had some harsh times in high school, whether that's academically or socially. Some of the things that I struggled with in my high school experience was learning how to study, balancing work and school, and finding a group of people to call your own. One of my most challenging high school experiences were balancing study time. Staying organized enough to get everything done is a struggle. In class it is sometimes hard to know which notes are important or not. With there being more work and tests you have to have strong study skills. The biggest thing is that nobody is going to force you to study, its your decision alone. It's hard when you have assignments in different classes with the same deadline, but it can be made easier if you break it down into more manageable pieces. I learned to use a day planner and it helped me to become a little more organized. One of my most Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Service Learning Experience The next visit to service learning was in the afternoon. We had lots of activity. I spent outside with children and the wether was sunny and good for kids to get more vitamin D. We really enjoyed played around. One of the kids was so sweet and stay beside me all the time and asked me to play with him, I just felt happy and how simple that kids. They did not have resentment, hatred, and envy. Furthermore, It takes a lot out of me dealing with children because I have to remember they are not adults. In addition, If I faced this experience again, I might do something different, because I will prepare more and have some plans to do with children. I would do a couple of things differently. I would let the children use their creativity a little Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Service Learning Experience Essay For the month of March I continued to conduct my 3–5 service learning hours at Grace and Love Church. I wanted to make a difference and educate the children on basic health standards. I taught the kids basic health tasks that should be conducted daily including: showering, brushing teeth, and hand washing. As simple as some of the tasks sound, I'm sure there are adults that still struggle to complete the daily health tasks. With my major involving health science, I wanted to share with the children what I am passionate about, health care and educating others. I explained to the children what germs were, and how they are everywhere. I also had a translator for the ones that could not understand English. I taught the children that it is important to shower at least 1–2 times a day to wash away the germs. Shampoo or conditioner along with body wash or soap is also important to maintain a clean body. Washing one's body daily prevents germs from spreading and prevents infections. Teeth brushing is also very important for daily care. I decided to create miniature teeth care kits...show more content... I was very surprised on how much fun teaching was. There is a lot more to teaching than just talking and pointing at pictures, there is a lot of planning that goes into every lesson. I also had the drive to not procrastinate, I wanted to create the best presentation I could to teach the kids about healthy habits. I almost felt if I owed the kids my very best, and that is why I made the teeth kits and enjoyed every second of my presentation. Since I already completed my priority goal of the educating the children of something I know pretty well, my final service hours next month will be to impact the community even more. I will do as much as I can to end my final session at the church ending it on a good note with positivity and joy I can leave with the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. My Learning Experience In English CONTEXT It seems that learning a foreign language has never been an easy job and it takes a lot of time, sometimes all your life to master it (Brown, 2000). Among the four main skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, the first one could be considered the most challenging and the most crucial because it includes "all other kinds of knowing" (Ur, 2012). Until now, I can still remember how difficult it was to develop this particular skill when I was in high school. In this essay, I will clearly describe my learning experiences as a grade–ten student trying to improve the speaking skill through English lessons at high school. When I was in high school, I was studying in Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, one of the most famous schools in Ho Chi Minh City at that time and I was placed in an English intensified class, which meant that most of my classmates was very good at English. My class was such a big one with 46 members, including 38 girls and only 8 boys. Instead of studying 5 periods a week with the course book approved by Ministry of Education, we had 4...show more content... During the periods working with the course book, I followed my teacher's instructions, did everything she asked us to do. Nevertheless, at weekend I went to an English club at my high school. Here I had the opportunity to literally communicate in English though it was quite hard for me at that time. The club had 2 instructors, who were also the English teachers of my school and they were very helpful and friendly as well. They encouraged us to speak English by pointing out the good things that we could get if we mastered English, such as having the ability to communicate with foreigners, getting a high–paid job in the future or a scholarship to study abroad. Those things were very appealing and it helped to create motivational as well (Ur, 2012). Thanks to the aid of the club, I became more confident to work with my friends in the group Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Learning Experience Essay Learning has always been on of my favorite things to do. Partially because I've always done well in school, but also due to my innate desire to know everything. I hate not understanding anything whether it be how a battery works or why a person makes the choices they do. As a teenager, I have been in school all my life, which has been my primary source of information. Classroom education can certainly have its limits due to the confined environment, but my teachers and classes have opened my mind to see the world around me. The simplest things like basic addition and plural noun conventions seem so obvious to me now, but at one point, I had a teacher to explain these concepts to me. As these lessons have evolved into solving differential equations and composing analysis of complex literary works, I have been able to expand my brain. My learning experiences have expanded beyond the classroom in a more immersive, hands–on capacity. With my parents, I have been able to travel both inside and outside the country, showing me about different cultures and ways of life. Moreover, my time doing competitive robotics and The more I learn, the smarter I become of course. However, education does more than increase my intelligence. It also shapes my character. I believe that character is something that have varying definitions to different people. Personally, character is sum of the qualities, both ethical and cognitive, that makes a person unique and guide their choices. I would say Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Reflection On My Learning Experience Reflections on My Learning Experience Feeling motivated, I have decided to narrate my learning experience on what I have learned about through my formal education as well as my experience in learning to live. In retrospect, the report cards that I received in high school are a source of great shame to myself. Although I performed at an average level in most subjects with the exception of excelling in the arts and languages. The comment on my reports for Math always read: "Needs to spend more time studying". To my teacher's frustration, I always showed a lack of interest, never paid attention in class and wouldn't heed their advice. Add to that, having bad math teachers. I take full responsibility for my grades, but after all, my math teacher in ninth grade was fired, because we all failed the class and final exam. I was then placed in a remedial math class and I was just never able to catch up after that experience; it seemed like I was destined to fail. I did have a few breakthrough moments, which must have been puzzling for my teachers. On one final exam, I was the only person in my class that passed, and I passed by not using standard formulas, but some convoluted way of finding an answer, because I was determined to find it. The day after our final exam, my teacher held up my scrap paper with not an inch of blank space on it, in front of the class, and remarked, "This is outstanding; you never gave up when trying to find the answer." This would probably be no cause Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Essay on My First Learning Team Experience My First Learning Team Experience My involvement in the Learning Team environment at the University has been a great learning experience. When we were assigned teams at the end of the first week, I did not really know what to expect. I have worked on teams numerous times in my career, both in the professional and private sectors. The teams I have worked on have always been to either produce a product or improve a process. Learning has always been a part of these teams, but I have never been on a team whose specific purpose was centered on learning. The first task my learning team was confronted with was coming up with an effective method of communicating. "High–performing teams have extensive communication mechanisms. They...show more content... As the leader, I was also responsible for resolving any conflicts that may have arisen during this assignment. I consider myself (and the team) to be lucky in this, as we did not have any conflicts that needed resolving. The team completed the charter on time and received full marks on the project. I relinquished the team leadership position for the second team assignment. The assignment was to write a paper on Ethics in the Workplace. The team decided who would do what for the assignment and then we hit a wall. The first conflict a team faces can be a very difficult one to get over. Teams in the Storming stage can find it very hard to move forward due to the conflict. A feeling of dread can come over the team, and they may wonder if they will be able complete the task at all. (Teams in the Workplace, Pg. 315) Our conflict was over the introduction to our paper. We needed a strong thesis statement that would define our paper. I thought the current statement was far to negative for the content of the paper. Somehow we needed to put a positive spin on it. Even though this conflict slowed our progress, I believe that this was very constructive for us as a team. The Learning Team Toolkit describes this type of conflict as "В…disagreement over members' ideas and group issues." (Conflict and Cohesion in Groups, Pg. 147) The result of this conflict, in my opinion, was a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. My Experience Of Learning We constantly learn through our experiences during our lives. As we begin to grow and develop, we find that the majority of our learning occurs outside of the classroom. When we take the time to analyze our situations, we discover what we are gaining from our experiences. However, the vital thing is to inquire what kind of learner you are. Once you determine how you learn best, you are able to fully enhance your experiences as a learner. As I have developed and grown over the years, I have discovered what kind of a learner I am, and how I can use thisknowledge to enhance my learning environments. Over time, I have used my previous knowledge of learning styles to analyze and grasp how my experiences have helped me grow as an individual. Throughout my life, I have applied my learning to become a capable leader, an exceptional communicator, and have learned that quitting is not always a negative. For my final year in high school, I was enrolled at a technical center studying graphic design. I quickly learned the importance of taking leadership in the environment and how it can impact the progression of the group as a whole. From perseverance and competence, I was selected to represent as a member of the second year program. Additionally, the program offers students who complete the first year program space to work at the studio. There, we received work from clients with ranging needs who were searching for designers. There was a great shift in the number of students, as there Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Reflection On The Learning Experience 2.0Situation Reflection (1000 words) 2.1Introduction Reflection is thought by linking recent experience with early experience to promote more complex and interrelated mental models or patterns. The thinking involves looking for commonalities, differences, and interrelations beyond their superficial elements. The goal is to develop higher order thinking skills. The knowledge I have gained and theory I have completed through assessments and in class discussions and tasks has broadened my understanding of learning. It is evident through this text that the theoretical perspectives focused on in this subject have had a place in the process of my learning journey throughout the semester. Whether this learning has been learning a new skill for an assessment, observing learning and assisting teaching on placement or collaborative learning in the tutorials, it is clear a number of theories tie into these learning experiences. One challenge was assisting a boy in the class who had special needs. The class began with their Reading Workshop and first off everyone was required to read a chapter of their book to a class mate or Pre Service Teacher. Although the boy I was working with refused to read to me, I began to use a number of strategies to motivate him to complete the task at hand. Mooney (2013) expresses Vygotsky's concept, The Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), it has been articulated in this text that this ZPD is the space among what someone is capable of without assistance and what someone is capable of with assistance from a peer or teacher. I implemented this theory with the student, begging with observing the situation and determining where he was at in his learning process and what he was able to achieve. Michel Montaigne writes in his essays "I am scribbling here a record of my life's experiences, which is sufficient for purposes of inward health" (Montaigne 361). He is saying that experiences are the root of being internally satisfied. Montaigne focuses on the art of law which deals with the mind and soul, along with the art of medicine which deals with experiences of the body. He suggests that these are equally importance to a person to become complete. A person needs to find the appropriate balance between these things, in order to achieve happiness and contentment. Experiences shape every element of an individual, especially how they form their thinking process. In regards to faith, experiences dictate what to believe in. Going to church, partaking in mission trip, or a death of a love one are all experiences that bring a person closer or further away from their faith. By tracing back to the origins of where one gets their faith, it shows that it is rooted and influenced by experiences. Circumstances can incorporate faith into one's life, but can also bring about doubt. Undergoing similar situations can bring up doubts and hesitation to rethink beliefs and faith. However, reason is used to come to a consensus to these doubts. Experiences play a key role in providing evidence and proof to justify facts and feelings. If a person has experienced something, that serves as their logic behind their beliefs and actions. Faith, doubt, and reason, all serve as tools to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
