What is RFID and BARCODE and it's implication.

2. What is RFID?
 RFID stands for Radio-Frequency Identification
 RFID device does not need to be positioned precisely
relative to the scanner.
 RFID device reads all RFID tags at once.
 RFID tags allows RFID reader to identify the objects as
well as the location.
 RFID is the easiest way to track objects as
Compare to barcodes.

3. Implications of RFID in Pakistan
 RFID in PIA
- PIA use RFID to track the cargo that needs to be transported
all across the globe from or to Pakistan.
- It helps its supplier and PIA itself to track where their aircraft
is.
- It makes them easy to determine the exact location as well as
the model of aircraft and the origin of that aircraft.

4. Implications of RFID in Pakistan
 RFID in Unilever and P$G warehouse
- To track the inventory in warehouses.
- To identify the objects stored in warehouse easily.
- It allows warehouse managers to easily, track and locate
the products in bulks.
- It allows uniliver and P&G to notify that how many
Bulk have been distributed and how many bulks are
Still in warehouse.

5. What is Barcode?
 A barcode scanner reads this pattern of black and white
that is then turned into a line of text your computer can
understand.
 You need to separately scan each product to identify the
product.
 Barcode can be read by the help of scanner which helps a
person to easily identify the object and equipment has
sold
 Scanning every product can be hectic if it is used in
warehouse.

6. Implications of Barcode in Pakistan
 Barcode in Marts:
- In Imtiaz super mart, we have seen people paying money
after paying getting the barcodes on their products scanned.
- It helps to identify the object separately on the time of
sale.
- After scanning, it helps responder to get the signal that the
particular product have been sold out.
Marts that use Barcode:
 Metro
 Makro
 Chaseup etc

7. Conclusion
 RFID is better than Barcode.
 Barcodes takes a lot of time, because you have to scan each
product separately.
 RFID gives you all information at once, and it’s very easy to
read.
 By using RFID, it enables the efficient work process for the
supply chain.
 Barcodes are mainly used at a product cash counter while,
RFID is used to manage the warehouse.
