Human Resources Specialist Lead 8/2014 – Present
 Leads and supervises the Leave of Absence and Compliance HR teams on daily functions as well as long term
goals for each team.
 Collect and analyze data on each team and its members to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
 Handles employee relation issues as needed with a sense of urgency and confidentiality for all parties involved.
 Point of contact for leaves of absences, including issues relating to FMLA, military leaves and all other leave types.
 Facilitates the process for employees who have been on LOA for an extended period of time, including
conducting an interactive dialogue with the employee on their ability to return to their job and coordinates the final
step of the leave process. Stays in communication with the employee in all steps of this process, up to and
including communication of employee terminations.
 Uses a case management system to handle incoming requests from outside field users and manage team member’s
workloads. Also uses the data compiled within the system to analyze HR employee metrics to be used in
continuous improvement and goal setting.
 Motivates and coaches HR team members to strive for excellence, as well as acknowledges employee’s successes.

 Thorough knowledge of PeopleSoft, including daily usage of queries to compile employee data and create reports.
 Communicate with a broad spectrum of employees within Con-way Freight to ensure that HR functions are being
executed effectively.
 Perform weekly audit of PeopleSoft data to proactively identify issues that may cause negative downstream affects.
Including but not limited to correcting issues, and notifying management, the employee and other departments of
the corrections, as needed.
 Experience in LEAN practices to eliminate waste and add strategic value to HR processes. Demonstrated by both
leading and participating in various projects to establish, evaluate and document processes and best practices. Such
projects include creating standardized process documents, creating a LEAN Strategy Room for the department
and 5S evaluation of the File Room.
