Weekly Progress
This week I am interested in some breakers or protection that are safty devices use
to protect people from electricity. I found 3 devices.
ELCB[ Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker ] : or the other name “ELB”, it is the device
which can protection of electric shock and detect earth leakage current. The body of
it is as same as safty breaker but it has the difference that is ELCB has a small
botton called “TEST”.
The Principle of ELCB is comparison with 2 line that are input and output current. If
it loss from the system, this device can detect. There are 2 size ; 15mA and 30mA.
For water heater 15mA is appropriate.
RCCB [Residual Current Circuit Breaker] : It used to protect electical in the industial,
high building and house. The advantages are protect leakage current, overload
current, control in closed system and protect human life from the direct contact
RCBO [RCCB with Overload Protection] : protect from electric shock with circuit
breaker inside this device.

- If we use is we can use easy but it’s very serious because it’s about human life.
Next Week Job
I will learn more about the water heater circuit and the devices that we need to use.
