Infill Bionic Fibre®
– the new generation
of infill granules for artificial turf
Organic structures and forms have one universal feature:
they are irregular and therefore appear natural, and some spe-
cial natural forms are perceived to be very phasant.
Nature is our model for the latest generation of infill granules:
Infill Bionic Fibre.
The new Melos Infill Bionic Fibre takes nature as its template
and implements this using innovative plastics technology, thus
paving the way for a new generation of artificial turf system that
even more closely resemble natural turf and guarantee maxi-
mum durability.
Thanks to the organic form of its material, Infill Bionic Fibre®
combines many of the advantages of natural materials with the
reliable durability of a proven sulfur cured EPDM infill granu-
late.

Infill Bionic Fibre is remarkable for its soft surface and natural
appearance. The surface promotes the adhesion of water and en-
hances its natural sliding behaviour. The material offers good trac-
tion and constant elasticity. It facilitates natural competitive play
and tackling almost like natural turf, and its sports functionality
endures for the entire life of the pitch.

ZEK 01.4‑08 Fulfils the requirements of the category 1 for materials that can be put in the mouth.
DIN SPEC 18035-7 Fulfils all requirements according DIN SPEC 18035-7 (2013-06) table 22.
Optimum grain form and distribution are significant to the overall
performance on a turf system. We have identified the driving para-
meters and can recommend a suitable granule for your particular
requirements.
The sieve curve on the left shows the grain distribution of Infill Bio-
nic Fibre, as measured by an optical measuring system. Aptitude
tests underline Infill Bionic Fibre‘s ideal suitability for intensive use
as infill granules for artificial turf.

Infill Bionic Fibre is especially designed for use in artificial turf systems of the latest generation
and systems with monofilament fibres.

The RAL colour specifications are non-binding approximations. Differences in colour of the images are due to
printing process.
In practical use, infill granules have to withstand rugged condi-
tions: intensive mechanical pressures and high stress caused by
sunlight and fluctuating climatic conditions. The mechanical stabil-
ity was tested at Hargrove Mill as per DIN 51742 and in the Lisport
test. Long-term durability was demonstrated by ageing with UV-A
radiation as stipulated by DIN EN ISO 4892‑3 and xenon-arc and
spray according to DIN EN ISO 4892-2, similarly to the standards
for component testing. As a practical demonstration we equipped
training pitches to test the improved sliding and tackling properties.
Naturally, the material also complies with all the usual national
standards for artificial turf pitches.
