The learner: presents a form of integrated contemporary art
based on the region of his / her choice. e.g. choreography,
musical instrument, literary and music composition, visual
design, and/or theatrical performance
CONTENT STANDARD The learner demonstrates: appreciation of contemporary art
forms, found in the various regions by understanding the
elements and principles
I. OBJECTIVE/S:
 Identify and define various contemporary art forms
from different regions.
 Understand the concepts of application,
abstraction, and analysis in contemporary art.
 Analyze selected artworks from diverse regions
using the concepts learned.
Materials  Visual examples of artworks from different
contemporary art forms and regions.
 Projection equipment or devices for displaying
images and videos.
 Paper, pencils, and markers for student activities.
 Copies of the provided worksheet for analysis.
II. CONTENT A. INTEGRATIVE ART AS APPLIED TO
CONTEMPORARY ART 1. Combination of Different Art

III. PROCEDURE:
Learning across
curriculum:
1. English Language Arts:
Students will write reflections analyzing their chosen
artwork, incorporating descriptive language and critical
thinking skills.
2. Social Studies:
Explore the historical and cultural context of artworks,
connecting them to the regions they originate from and
discussing how they reflect societal changes.
3. Technology:
Use projection equipment to display images and videos,
enhancing the visual learning experience.
4. Critical Thinking:
Engage students in analyzing artworks using conceptual
frameworks, fostering critical thinking and interpretation
skills.

Day 1 - Introduction to Contemporary Art Forms and
Concepts
1. Warm-up Activity (10 minutes):
 Show a series of images representing
different contemporary art forms (digital
art, street art, installation art, performance
art, video art, and land art) from various
regions.
 Ask students to briefly share their initial
thoughts and impressions about each form.
2. Presentation (15 minutes):
 Introduce the concept of contemporary art
and its evolution in different regions.
 Explain the three main concepts:
application, abstraction, and analysis.
 Provide concise definitions and examples
of each concept.
3. Main Activity: Art Form Exploration (20
minutes):
 Divide students into small groups.
 Assign each group a specific contemporary
art form.
 Provide the groups with images and
information about notable artworks from
their assigned art form.
 In their groups, students discuss how the
assigned art form demonstrates the
concepts of application, abstraction, and
analysis.
Day 2 - Analyzing Contemporary Artworks
1. Recap and Discussion (10 minutes):
 Review the concepts of application,
abstraction, and analysis from the previous
day.
 Discuss the insights and observations of
each group regarding their assigned art
forms.
2. Guided Analysis: Selected Artworks (20
minutes):
 Display a curated selection of artworks
from different contemporary art forms and
regions.
 Model how to analyze an artwork using the
concepts of application, abstraction, and
analysis.
 Encourage students to participate by
sharing their own analyses of the artworks.
3. Independent Analysis Activity (15 minutes):
 Distribute the provided worksheet for
analysis, which includes questions related
to application, abstraction, and analysis.
 Instruct students to choose one artwork
from the selection and complete the
worksheet individually.
4. Group Presentation and Discussion (15
minutes):
 Have students share their analyses in small
groups.
 Each group presents their chosen artwork
and discusses how the concepts of
application, abstraction, and analysis are
evident in their selected piece.
5. Closing Reflection (5 minutes):
 Ask students to reflect on what they've
learned about contemporary art forms and
their practices.
 Encourage them to consider how these
concepts can enhance their understanding
and appreciation of art.
Assessment  Participation in class discussions and group
activities.
 Completion of the independent analysis worksheet.
 Quality of group presentations and contributions to
discussions.
IV. Assignment:
 Write a reflection in which students analyze a
contemporary artwork of their choice, using the
concepts of application, abstraction, and analysis.
V. REMARKS
Analysis: This lesson plan aims to engage students in a
comprehensive exploration of various contemporary art
forms, helping them develop a deeper understanding of
how these art forms manifest the concepts of application,
abstraction, and analysis across different regions.
Extension: Invite a local contemporary artist to speak about their work,
providing a real-world perspective on the concepts
discussed.
Organize a field trip to a local art gallery featuring
contemporary artworks from various regions to further
engage students with the subject matter.

Review Motivation: Lesson Proper Lesson Outline: Day 1 - Introduction to Contemporary Art Forms and Concepts 1. Warm-up Activity (10 minutes):  Show a series of images representing different contemporary art forms (digital art, street art, installation art, performance art, video art, and land art) from various regions.  Ask students to briefly share their initial thoughts and impressions about each form. 2. Presentation (15 minutes):  Introduce the concept of contemporary art and its evolution in different regions.  Explain the three main concepts: application, abstraction, and analysis.  Provide concise definitions and examples of each concept. 3. Main Activity: Art Form Exploration (20 minutes):  Divide students into small groups.  Assign each group a specific contemporary art form.  Provide the groups with images and information about notable artworks from their assigned art form.  In their groups, students discuss how the assigned art form demonstrates the concepts of application, abstraction, and analysis. Day 2 - Analyzing Contemporary Artworks 1. Recap and Discussion (10 minutes):  Review the concepts of application, abstraction, and analysis from the previous day.  Discuss the insights and observations of each group regarding their assigned art forms. 2. Group Presentation and Discussion (15 minutes):  Have students share their analyses in small groups.  Each group presents their chosen artwork and discusses how the concepts of application, abstraction, and analysis are evident in their selected piece. 5. Closing Reflection (5 minutes):  Ask students to reflect on what they've learned about contemporary art forms and their practices.  Encourage them to consider how these concepts can enhance their understanding and appreciation of art. Assessment  Participation in class discussions and group activities.  Completion of the independent analysis worksheet.  Quality of group presentations and contributions to discussions. IV. Assignment:  Write a reflection in which students analyze a contemporary artwork of their choice, using the concepts of application, abstraction, and analysis. V.
