Introduction
In the scenario, I have been picked as IT consultant by a company that has been into the
sales of fresh and frozen food to develop IT systems for;
 Creating links between various departments that is, the head office, regional offices,
warehouses and retail outlets.
 Stocks controlling at the company’s warehouses and retail centres.
 Placing of orders online, sales and deliveries.
 Managing staff data and information.
 Expansions to the business including its retail outlets, warehouses and regional
offices.
The organization has allocated a total budget of £50,000 for the project. As an IT consultant,
I need to arrange detail report to get the best work done.

Task 1
1. PLAN
First and foremost, I will try out several research plans to find out much information on this
particular project so that it will be very easy to choose the best and effective solution out of
the numerous courses of solutions developed in this problem solving processes. I will think
of the possibility of the framework from the successful criteria and after that I would pick the
ideal option with the highest ranks.
In the process I would manage an organization fittingly to make numerous lines of phone
frameworks so I’ll select about 8 sales staffs to be given thorough training on all the IT
systems that would be installed to make customer enquiries and inbound arrangements calls
with no negative impacts and issues to run the official work of the organization.
Communication would mostly be online but as usual there would be the need to get
telephones at workplace.
Company’s email account and website would be made available, a system of paying
workers’ salaries, database of information of the business (everything about the company
including information on workers) and its loyal customers, etc.
Also, a security system would be in place so that occurrences of fraud and hacking will not
be in the scene as far as ecommerce is concerned.
There would be an economic and judicious use of the proposed budget to get a quite
suitable result for the company.
Further and better explanation will be given to these amazing plans of mine in following
sections.

2. DESCRIPTIONOFPROBLEMSOLVING.
a. Problemdefinition
There may be many challenges or better still problems, that the company might be dealing
hugely with.
Firstly, my problem identification research would be on the above requirements of the
company, why do they need those specific requirements, what accounted for the
requirements, what has been some of their difficulties since the company came into
existence. All of these questions would be answered by the conducted research.
Looking at the nature of the requirements, I would identify some of the problems by
assumptions as;
a. No creation of website. E-commerce is the process of dealing with the buying and
selling of products and services online through the internet. Adopting ecommerce
website is very crucial because in these modern days of the world technology plays a
very important part in the lives of individuals to businesses. Nowadays, ICT controls
the world via internet and its processes. ICT in business has enhanced productivity,
encouraged greater customer participation and allow mass customization and
reducing cost. (Schneider, 2009)
Having a secure ecommerce website will help customers to make a secure payment
online and arrange deliveries. It will help the company to reach out to a very large
scope and also to the chance to connect and offer goods and services, and
administrations to clients around the globe. The website for the company would have
the capabilities as staff data such as payments, deliveries and sales.
b. No backup systems in case of emergency. Data is being the most essential
aspect of the computer. Backing up staff data, stocks available and sold stocks are
crucial in disaster situation. It’s very vital to have backup system installed because
computer hardware can fail, computer software can be corrupted, computer might be
destroyed. If the operating system of the computer get corrupted new one can be
installed but the original data could be lost permanently. Therefore, data backup
systems would be needed to help to protect and restore information or data in case
of emergency. (Bennett, 2015)
c. No linkage and access between the various stations of the company, that is,
the head office, regional offices, warehouses and retail outlets. To deal with this
problem, we need to create a network that’s MAN (Metropolitan Local Area Network).
MAN is a type of network which covers across the entire city or small region. MAN
offers a whole benefit as compared to other networks such as LAN and PAN, there
are high chances of attacking hackers on the network. MAN is generally designed to
support everything need to share, such as communications and offer a very high
speed as a whole at lower cost involved. (Mitchel, 2018)

b. Identificationofselectioncriteria
i. Consulting IT expect for the website creation. A website expertise would be
necessary so we will be hiring a professional website developer. The developer would
need a domain name of the company, web hosting etc.
ii. Installation of backup systems. Staff data is significant and they can be lost easily so
as to keep the workplace utilitarian and running we need backup system to help to keep
the workplace running.
iii. Purchasing of equipment. Materials and equipment required to be bought at the
selection of the criteria may include, PC’s and laptops, telecommunication devices,
printers, database systems, etc.
iv. Training of staff. Eight staff members will be selected and will be trained on how to use
the newly built website. Training sessions would be held in eight months on how to
manage and operate all the IT systems that would be introduced.
v. Installation of security systems. Effective security systems would be installed as far as
dealing with online payments, customers buying online and any other alternative
activities is concern.

Plans of training staff members
Cooperate training is the best because it is done to ensure an employee has knowledge and
skills to undertake a specific operation. Fundamentally, corporate training is centered on
knowledge transfer, with instructor teaching or demonstrating a particular function and the
student learning and practicing, they can apply what they have learnt to a particular
operation. Under cooperate training all trainees including the trainer work together for a
success of a particular project, ideas are shared across board. Work done by departments
with this kind of training is diligent and more effective. Therefore, cooperate training will help
the organization staff members to operate and maintain the newly built website. (Arthur,
2006)

Because eight staff members need to be trained, we will need eight personal computers for
each and every one of them, a serene environment for tutorials including tables and chairs,
and probably some packages to take home after tutorials just to motivate them.
Creation of a secured website
For the creation of a secured website, consulting a website expert could be the best because
going for experts will be fast and will be more secured in terms of attempted hacking of the
company website and other important account. When we hired an expect, since they been
doing this activity for very long time, they have the skills to come up with a better result.
Purchasing of Equipment/Materials
Buying it online is the best because it will help to save time and efforts. It also helps to get
detail information of the product we are to purchase.
In this case, I have picked the best organizations that have all the equipment we need. Here
I picked out, printers, database systems, desktop and laptop machines, workstation etc.
comparing different types of computers, I sought out that, desktop computer will be good for
office use and the laptop will be good for training of selected staff members. Whiles
comparing type of laptops, I chose Huawei Mate Book X Pro which comes with 13.9-inch,
touchscreen, intel core i7-8550U, 8GB RAM,512SSD, intel UHD 620 Graphics, battery life
up to 12 hours with windows 10 installed which would cost £1,299. (Huawei, 2018)
Comparing desktop for office use, I chose iMac Pro which comes with 2TB SSD, 128GB
DDR4 (2,666MHz) memory with windows 10 installed which would cost £4.899. (Matt, 2018)
Task 2
Conclusion
To conclude, the above report shows a detailed report plan on how to develop IT systems for
creating links between various departments that is, the head office, regional offices,
warehouses and retail outlets, Stocks controlling at the company’s warehouses and retail
centres, placing of orders online, sales and deliveries, managing staff data and information,
expansions to the business including its retail outlets, expansion of the business world-wide.
These plans above will surely take the company to their expansion stage (the company’s
long term goal). All the recommendations made are essential and practical, with ecommerce
