This is an explanation of my genre. I have chosen Rock music as my genre for my music magazine as I find the culture interesting and it is my favourite genre of music.

Stereotypically people
who listen to rock music
where a lot of dark
colours but particularly
black. They often where
ripped or distressed
clothes and a lot of red
and black plaid. They also
have more facial based
piercings such as septum's
and Monroe's. They also
often more out there
hairstyles to enforce the
idea of rebellion
4. Make-up
Girls who like rock music
often wear quite heavy eye
makeup. Often they wear a
smokey eye with a lot of dark
eye liner. They also often
wear dark red or purple
lipstick. They will avoid light
colours such as pink and
peach. Also, boys who listen
to Rock music will sometimes
wear black eye liner because
it defies the rules of society
and that is the idea of rock.
5. Lighting
Lighting at a rock concert is often
quite dark but will have bright
strobe lights often in the colours of
Red, Blue and White. They also
normally come down from the
ceiling to the audience and will be
highlighted by a smoke machine.
6. Behaviour
People who listen to Rock music often have
quite rebellious nature as rock is all about
fighting against the system. Rock is aimed at the
people who feel like they don’t fit in with
society’s ideals. Even though rock is rebellious it
is not violent it is just a stereotype as most
people assume due to the lyrics and beats of the
song
7. Fans
Fans of rock music tend to defy stereotypes such as
wearing more masculine style clothes. They also
defy stereotypes by having bold hair and multiple
facial based piercings. They often don’t quite fit in
with everyone else so they turn to rock as an
escape from the outside world. People who listen
to rock are stereotyped as being scary and violent
but actually they are common advocates of peace
and are calming they like to prove that someone's
music taste and appearance does not represent
their character
