1. Content Creation and Media is something I have been passionate about since I was 10 years old.
Creating my own videos, writing articles and expressing my thoughts and feelings through videos are
all things I am deeply interested in. My keenness for the subject also lies far beyond an educational
sense- I create my own videos, posts and articles in my spare time and have done so for over 6 years.
When I first started back in 2016, I was beginner however over the years I have continued to hone
my craft and become a significantly better creator. Over the years I have developed my editing skills,
cinematography skills and camera presence, as you can imagine this took time and I am still eager to
improve my skills. Everything I do is with my long-term future in mind, I want to further grow my
YouTube channels and Instagram pages, so I can become a successful content creator. Creating
videos about things I am passionate about and entertaining an audience in the process is something
I find captivating about the industry. I like the fact media is the closest thing we have to a time
machine because it represents the past, present and future. I like looking back on my old videos and
seeing just how much I have changed. Media products influence everyone’s lives, and I am excited to
contribute to such an influential industry.
I have built various YouTube channels over the years and 1 of my channels is a part of the YouTube
partner program. This means I make money from that channel. My passion for media inspired me to
study a Creative Media course in college, where I have created my own Advert and Documentary. I
have also learned more about the media industry and how it functions. Creating my own posts,
articles and videos have helped strengthen my media skills and increase my opportunities. I
demonstrate good time management by always making sure I meet the project deadline. The
exploration of editing techniques, camera angles and marketing techniques have all helped me
improve my products and reach a larger audience. I really enjoy making videos in my spare time and
have so for over 6 years. I have made various types of videos, but my unboxing videos have been my
most popular accumulating thousands of views. When I was 13, I also made popular AMV (Anime
Music videos). However, Animation, Commentary and Vlogs are the main videos I am focusing on
now. My most popular channel gains a minimum of 16k views and 70 new subscribers a month and
that’s when I’m not uploading actively.
Content creation will always come to the forefront on what I like doing. In my spare time I have
made many different types of content and I have even written articles for popular Sunderland
fanzine A Love Supreme. Valuable experience like this has helped me develop my writing skills and it
has also given me a more versatile skillset. Because I have been making content for long, I know feel
comfortable in front of camera and I don’t let other people’s opinions knock my confidence. I always
work as hard as I can, and I never give up on anything I feel passionate about. There have been
multiple occasions where I have had to work by myself with my own equipment, but I have shown
that I can produce work independently.
My motivation for my career is at the heart of what I do, I am always improving my skills and
developing my ideas in my spare time. I take time out of college to hone my craft and become a
better creator. I do this in order to try and secure a better future for myself. I am eager to keep
growing my skillset and contribute to an industry I have a passion for.
