1. I want to apply to this creative writing course since creative writing is a massive passion for
me and is something I would love to pursue further as I feel I have a lot of potential value to
the industry. This will allow me to develop my skills as someone who wants to be an author.
This subject interests me because creative writing is something I’ve always loved doing for
the last few years. I feel I am suitable for this course because I feel I am a unique storyteller,
along with the fact it is something I am very passionate about and will put my best efforts
into. Currently, I am studying level 3 creative media which although on the surface can be
entirely different to creative writing, there are some similarities. The main similarity is the
process of script writing, along with creating an idea linked to a brief. Ideally, after I complete
university, I would want to be a full-time author however if this goal doesn’t happen straight
away, I will continue my content creation which I have been doing for almost five years.
Through secondary school, I have gained a lot of important skills such as organisation, writing
skills, time management and resilience. I achieved these skills through trying my hardest no
matter what subject it was, along with keeping all my files neatly organised. My resilience has
been shown as although I can struggle some days, I come in and still put my all into the course.
This is relevant to studying creative writing as these skills are essential to keep up to date on
my work and to keep it at a high standard.
Through college, I have also gained a multitude of skills along with improving on other ones.
These include communication, motivation, presentation skills and enthusiasm. I have
managed to gain or improve these skills through stepping out my comfort zone through
participating in stand-up presentations, making sure I’m on top of my work whilst also
allowing me to have down time to relax and de compress from the day. If I’m feeling
overwhelmed or unsure about something, I am more confident to let my teachers know so
then a solution can be found.
Firstly, I have volunteering experience with a youth led club called change makers which
helps raise awareness on local issues in the community and trying to improve upon them.
From this, I have improved my planning skills along with gaining a confidence boost which
(along with practical skills I gained) allow me to plan out my time much more efficiently and
be more pro-active so I should be able to manage my course a lot better. With this, one of
the big parts we have done is doing a multitude of podcasts spreading awareness about
disabilities. All these podcasts are public on Spotify, and we are working on creating more
podcasts that will touch on other topics such as education. My role in this was being the main
host of the show along with being the sole editor on the project.
Furthermore, I have work experience with the local registered business “We Know Pets.” I
primarily run the social media side of the business along with assisting in dog walks or sits if
necessary. From this, I have improved upon my communication skills along with my problem

2. solving. This relates to this course as when there are issues whilst I complete the course, I can
tackle them better and complete the task more effectively.
I run an emerging YouTube channel with 4000 followers which focuses on funny gaming
moments. With this, I must research, record, edit, and sometimes script certain parts of my
videos. The skills I have gained from this are improved timekeeping, motivation and
enthusiasm.
To conclude, I would love to be able to do this creative writing course as this is one of my
main passions that I focus on. I can’t wait to thrive on this course as this will push my
potential in this industry along with it allowing me to achieve and progress my goals following
education.
