Definition of Constructive Criticism
3. Figure out the Root Cause of the
Problem before criticizing
Figuring out the problem is important and it
becomes easy for you to explain your child what
and where things have gone wrong. Emotional
outburst on your child is never good. Digging
deep into the problem shall make you come out
with a corresponding solution.
4. Avoid using language with judgment,
instead point out the problems using
a descriptive statement
Scolding a kid for his mistake is never a solution.
Using language with judgment may worsen a
situation. The best way to do is to recognize your
child’s efforts done in the past and then make
them understand about their problems in an
effective manner.
5. Control your Anger
Criticizing child in a controlled manner should
be the way out. No one would want to hear
criticism in a hostile manner. Anger should
never take an upper hand when dealing with a
child.
6. Letting Know the Consequences of
your Children’s Mistakes to them is
Important
One must criticize the wrong doing, but not the child.
Make sure your kids know that their behavior is a
problem for you and not them.
7. Clarity in Criticism is Required
Don’t hesitate while criticizing your child
otherwise they may misinterpret your
message. Your main aim should be to
educate your child and not to punish or
humiliate them.
8. An Opportunity must be given to
Children to correct them
This is every human beings right. Giving a
second chance is always good. After
making them realize their mistakes you
must encourage them to correct the
mistake they did in the past. By this your
kids will realize and learn to take
responsibilities of their actions in the future.
Shape a better future for your children
through constructive criticism.
