This document describes a cell phone controlled robotic vehicle. The robotic vehicle is controlled by DTMF commands sent from one cell phone and received by another cell phone mounted on the robot. The commands are decoded and sent to a microcontroller which controls DC motors to move the robot. Key components include an 8051 microcontroller, DTMF decoder, motor driver, batteries, and a robot body. The robot can be controlled remotely via cell phone and has applications in military, search and rescue, and scientific uses.

Cell Phone Controlled Robotic Vehicle
Introduction
The project is designed to develop a robotic vehicle that is controlled by a cell
phone. DTMF commands from a phone are sent to another cell phone which is
mounted on the robot. These commands are fed to a microcontroller of 8051
family to operate the vehicle movement through motor interface.

Functionality
Send commands from one cell phone to be received by another cell phone.
Mounted on the robot to receive the DTMF (Dual Tone Multi Frequency)
mode commands.
Which are then decoded by a DTMF decoder.
The corresponding codes are then fed to a microcontroller.

Microcontroller are programmed to recognize those codes to operate 2nos DC
motors through motor driver IC.
It commands for any direction movement as per the sent commands from
sender’s mobile.
The motors are controlled using motor driver IC which is interfaced to the
microcontroller.
It uses microcontroller from 8051 family and a battery for power source.

Disadvantage
1. Cell phone bill.
2. Mobile batteries drain out early so charging problem.
3. Cost of project if Cell phone cost included.
4. Not flexible with all cell phones as only a particular ,cell phone whose
earpiece is attached can only be used.

Military and Law Enforcement
Remote control vehicles are used in law enforcement and military
engagements for some of the same reasons.
It can be used in the borders for disposing hidden land mines.
Remote Controlled Vehicle is used by police to detect bombs, or some
chemicals, etc.
Remote controlled vehicles are used by many police department bomb-squads
to defuse or detonate explosives.
