Media evaluation two

 1. 1.

4) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

 2. 2. Constructing
 3. 3. During the process of constructing my media product I used many different technologies and came across many difficulties.
 4. 4.

Firstly, I had to film my film using the Sony video camera

As the location of my film is outside I made sure that it was set to the outdoor setting in order to make the lighting of my film correct.

 5. 5.

However, as I shot my film at two times, the aspect ratio of my footage differed, meaning that I would have to re shot my film in the aspect ratio that made my film a better quality.

 6. 6.

Secondly, once my film was shot I began to edit.

The footage I had was of good substance and the lighting of my footage was good, however the sound differed in pitch and quality.

 7. 7.

In order to alter this and make it consistent throughout my film, I used the audio tools in the Avid Editing programme to change the volume of some of the audio in my film in order to make the audio throughout my film the same volume.

 8. 8.

I also used the audio tool to edit the static sound that could be heard in a few scenes of my footage.

 9. 9.

As my film is of the social realism genre, I decided to make my audio as naturalistic as possible and decided against using music in my film, therefore I did not need to use the audio tool in order to do this.

 10. 10.

Thirdly, the last element to constructing my film included creating titles.

 11. 11.

I used the Avid title tool at first, however, the fonts available to me did not have the affect that I wanted to achieve and decided to use my own font.

 12. 12.

To do this I used paint to create my titles and imported them into avid.

To use them as a title in my film, I used the imported images in my film timeline and just edited them to the time that I wanted them.

 13. 13.

By doing this I achieved the affect that I wanted, as the font that I used in my final titles, reflects the scenes in my film.

 14. 14. Planning
 15. 15.

The technologies I used in the planning of my media product included the Internet.

 16. 16.

In order to understand the genre and form of my media product I used the Internet Based Research in order to gain more insight into my media product.

 17. 17.

The research helped me to understand what a short film is, who watches them and how they are distributed.

 18. 18.

Through this information I was able to gain a better understanding of short films and how they are received in Britain today.

 19. 19.

The storyboards I created for my film, the location and actor releases and break down sheets, as well as the scripts, all came on paper.

 20. 20.

In order to make these presentable on my blog, I had to scan them into the computer and put them on my blog in the form of a picture.

 21. 21.

However, as blogger uses a different format to what the papers were scanned on as I had to change them to a JPEG and then post them as a picture gadget.

 22. 22.

The technologies used during the process of creating and presenting my coursework allowed me to create and present my work in the most affect and clear way as possible.
