Here are some activities that you and your child
can do at home that will give them practice with
what we are learning at school. Feel free to move
the activities around to different days if you
wish.
 Monday – No School!
 Tuesday – Practice writing the letters I and i,
while saying their short sound as in igloo. Discuss
difference between uppercase and lowercase.
 Wednesday – Number Go Fish (see attached
sheets)
 Thursday – Kitchen Study (see attached sheet)
 Friday – Read stories and practice retelling them
by discussing the beginning, middle, and end.
- If you notice your child having difficulty with
any of these activities, please keep practicing
them at home. It will help them greatly in
mastering that skill quicker.
HomeworkThis Week’s Highlights
Phonics
We will learn about the letter Ii and the short
sound it makes as in igloo. We will continue
working on recognizing how many words are in a
sentence and how many syllables are in a word.
Reading
We will read a story called The Lonely Prince and
work on drawing conclusions from the pictures
and words.
Writing
We will learn about how to use spaces between
our words and how to fix and fancy up our
writing.
Math
We will learn how to tell time to the hour and use
number lines.
Science/Social Studies
We will start a new unit in social studies about
jobs people have. We will talk about what we
want to be one day.

Book Logs
Please have your child’s completed book log
turned in no later than Thursday, Nov. 18th
.
Our awards assembly is Friday, November
19th

There are no longer collection dates for
boxtops so anytime you have some feel free
to send them in.
