French Day Celebration at School
1. By Benjamin 5F
On Wednesday 25th February we celebrated a French day at school where we
played lots of French games and quizzes. When I got to school everyone was dressed
in French clothes. I wore red trousers, blue and white striped shirt and of course a
beret!
At assembly we saw a fashion show. I really liked Jenson’s paint brush and
pad it looked great! We learned that ratatouille is a lot of vegetables mixed together.
Then we went to our first lesson which was English. After that we did a quiz about
French history and sports. Then we did French carousel activities such as playing
board games. I liked the board game ‘Trip to France’.
Being French day we were able to have a French themed lunch. I had chicken
with rice and cucumber, for pudding a yummy chocolate crepe. The lunch hall was
decorated with French flags and banners. We had to order our lunch in French,
which was easer than I thought it would be.
We could do a game where you tried to choose the right card for the French
word first. I look forward to next year when as year six we can have the French
breakfast - I think it will be yummy! I am also looking forward to going to France on
the school trip for a week with my friends - I bet I will learn a lot!!!
I rather enjoyed French day and look forward to next year. Maybe we could
also do a Spanish day!
