LACK OF PPE ENFORCEMENT During the past four project site visits by QHSE Manager, it was observed that: • A total of 103 Company workers were not wearing high visibility vests • Foreman, Supervisors, engineers and HSE staff were in the vicinity on each occasion • Site security staff were permitting workers to enter the site without PPE Company have HSE Policies of “Zero Tolerance”, “Don’t Walk By” and “No PPE-No Work”. All Project HSE Managers are required to: 1. Provide re-induction to all foremen, supervisors, site engineers and HSE about PPE requirements and their responsibility to enforce the rules. 2. Instruct site security not to permit any worker on to the site without PPE. 3. Place one HSE Staff at the site entrance at start of the day and end, and at break periods. 4. Issue Don’t Walk By with yellow card warning to the supervisor, foreman or engineer where workers under their responsibility are not wearing PPE. 5. Place pictorial notices at site entrances, canteens, toilets and lifts warning “No PPE-No Work”. 6. All sites to have emergency/surplus PPE for visitors and workers. 7. Conduct at least one fire drill per month, segregate all workers not wearing PPE, take their details and submit report to Project Manager and c.c Umair Haider. 8. Any worker who arrives on site, or who is found on site without PPE, must not be allowed to work on site until he has all appropriate PPE. “Provide PPE or send them back to camp”.
