01.The relationship between rapid
population growth in the urban
sector and environmental problem
• It is often suggested that rapid population
growth.
• Specially In developing countries.
• Correspondingly intensifies environmental
Degradation.
Which must therefore be mitigated by reducing
the rate of population growth
• Depletion of natural resources is the outcome
of haphazard initiatives.
• Environment has become the central focus of
discussion in both developed and developing
countries.
• Environmental degradation is the general
problem of population.
• What is environment?
• Enviroment was defined as a whole set of
natural and social systems in which human
beings and other organisms live and from
which they concern.
• The environment has to be seen holistically as
consisting of varying and interlocking
biological,physical,social,political economical
cultural and spiritual world.
• Integrated with technological and natural
processes could appreciate the role of human
beings in the natural world.
• All the areas are interrelated.
• Numbe r of environemental jargon like
ecological imbalance,Resource Depletion
Environemental pollution which are closely
connected with environmental degradation.
• The plunder of the Earth for short term gain
and power is systermatically destroying our
soils,water,forests and air.
• We obeserve that the rapid deplation and
destruction of global resources also lead to
very serious and widespread social problems.
• Making matters worse, millions of tons of
hazardous wastes are dischared into the
environment without any care and without
appropriate treatement.
• The indiscriminate discharge of such wastes
have compunded environmental problems.
• Most critical consequence oil spills. Tanker
collision or accident
• In a present day world have come to use many
• Different chemical substances in the home,in
idustry,in agricultural and in the control of
diseases.
• Chemical pesticide are being used on an
increasing scale in public health
programmes,agricultural forestry the
preservation and storage of products.
• According to that medical scientists have
stated that the metal effects include damage
to the liver, kidney, brain and the central
nervous and reproductive systems.
• Children are specially susceptible to lead
poisoning and the effects include mental
retardation and other forms of damage to the
central nervous system.
• Pollution control laws must be enforced.
• Country industrializes and develops that it will
have problem in getting rid of toxic wastes.
• Number of victims are increasing day by day.
• Water resources are polluted by industrial
wastes their indigeneous skills.
• Pollution is synonymous with the destruction,
weakening or the poisoning of the natural
environment and is one of the biggest
problems facing the
