In 1994, Beth Grosshans established her own private practice. During this time, in her work with
individuals struggling with emotional and behavioral issues, she observed a crucial trend: when
a child has more power than their parent, it can lead to emotional and behavioral disorders. This
phenomenon, which she dubbed Imbalanced Family Power (IFP), was not just a passing phase
but a persistent and damaging dynamic in family relationships. To address this issue, she
developed a successful five-step strategy called The Ladder to Effectiveness, which has proven
to be transformative in helping parents regain appropriate familial power and leadership. As a
result, many families have been able to restore harmony and health to their relationships.
Academically and Professionally
In addition to her clinical work, he also had a passion for education that extended beyond
consulting. For more than 15 years, she taught child development at the Princeton Center for
