DVW Consulting helps organizations within the hospitality and leisure industry to achieve smart profit in the short term and sustainable success in the long term by mapping out the links between employees, customers and financial drivers, optimizing the individual parts and thus making the whole organization stronger.
3. 2
These are just a few examples of problems that can hurt your business. Problems with often signifi-
cant financial consequences. But the cause of these problems? That often remains hidden. And that
makes sense. You are so busy with the day-to-day management of your business that you just can’t
get around to digging into these problems. As a result, they linger and the consequences become only
bigger.
DVW Consulting puts in the time you don’t have for you. We look for you for smart profit in the short
term and sustainable success in the long term. And we cover the entire journey with you from start
to finish.

Smart profit in the short term
The advantage of an experienced view from the outside.
DVW Consulting goes through your processes with an experienced view from the outside. We detect
concrete issues to tackle you immediately benefit from in the short term. We call these small areas for
improvement “the low-hanging fruit”. They are quick wins that are ready to pick. And we will do that
for you. This way you immediately feel the profit.

2.
Sustainable success in the long term
The problems in your company are often not only due to an issue with customers, employees or
financial drivers. It is usually a combination of the three. That is why it is important to always focus on
their coherence. This is quite complex, but it is the only way to long-term success.
An example to illustrate: Suppose the average turnover per customer is too low.
How could we solve this problem for you? We do this in three steps:
7. 6
1. In search of the core of the problem
This problem undoubtedly has various causes that are intertwined in several aspects of your business.
If we want to solve the problem, we have to cover all aspects. I compare this to peeling onions.
The outside of an onion represents the problem that hurts you today. In this case: the average turnover
per customer is too low.
If you want to get to the core of the problem, you have to peel each onion layer by layer. Every layer
that you peel off is the result of the layer underneath. Sometimes you have to peel a lot of layers to
get to the core of the problem.
8. 7
The turnover per customer
for drinks is too low
Discounts are given
all the time
Customers do not
want to pay full price
Customers find the price
quality ratio not ok
There is no consistency
in operational operation
Procedures and processes
are not recorded
The average turnover
for food is too low
The number of items per
transaction is too low
There is not enough
cross-selling
The employees are not
sufficiently trained
There is no fixed structure
for providing training
There is no written material
to provide training
It has not been established what
the training needs are per workstation
Problem: The average turnover per customer is too low
Example of the search for the core of the problem
Important: In this example we have only worked out two routes
in the search for the core of the problem. In practice, the number
may be higher.

2. Work out solutions to the problem
After we have defined the core of the problem, we start looking for the right remedy. We work with
you and your employees on a path to a sustainable solution to the problem. Together we map out
various possible solutions and from there we determine the solution that is most suitable for your
organization.
3. Implement the solutions in your company
Together with your employees, we implement the chosen solutions in your company from an agreed
step-by-step plan and timeline. It is a joint assignment that ensures that the implemented solutions
are widely supported in your organization.
10. 9
All good things come in threes!
And that also applies to the road to sustainable success.
Each of the three steps in this process is extremely important. There is no way you can skip one or the
problem will pop up again before you know it and you can only guess where it comes from.
If you want to turn a problem into sustainable success, there is only one path you can follow:
1. Look for the core of the problem layer by layer
2. Work out concrete solutions per layer
3. Implement the solutions in your organization
11. We help you on your way to sustainable success!
Do you have questions about our method?
Are you experiencing a specific problem
about which you want to exchange thoughts?
We are happy to help you.
